  1. If you are looking to quad you need to take a look at the new Taccom Duelin Dueces. I've been trying to off and on to load quads for over a year without much success. Then I got these caddies with intention of getting more shells on my belt for loading duals. With the caddies set so the shells are horizontal quads came easy as you just pull the shells up to get them to release from the caddies.

  2. Another awesome Nordic Components Tactical Shotgun Championship is in the books. As predicted this match got even better than it was in 2013. I feel fortunate to be able to go to match of this caliber and not have to drive half way across the country to do it.

Huge thanks to Jay, Jomar, Brian, Kevin and all the RO's and support staff. You guys busted your asses to make this one of the best matches I've ever been to. If I could have wrote you a check yesterday to cover my 2015 match fees, I would have. Outstanding job guys.

Having this match at the Forrest Lake Sportsman's Club was a great move. The facility was excellent, and considering the wet weather we've had, was in much better shape than expected. Even after the torrential downpour late Saturday afternoon things stayed pretty dry. Special thanks to Ron and Dawn Westberg. You couldn't find better or more accommodating hosts. All that good karma paid off too, with Ron winning one of the two random draw Benelli shotguns.

The new Practiscore system in place was a great addition and made the scoring smooth and fast. For that I have to shout out to Capitol Armament, this was an awesome donation. Not only for this match, but for all the MN 3gun Group matches. Thanks Clint.

Last and certainly not least. Thank you to the awesome group of sponsors that support this match. Check out all the match sponsors here http://tacticalshotgunchampionship.com/sponsors-2013/

See you all again in 2015.

  3. I wasn't all that impressed last night either. 4 months was an awful big window to skip over. Maybe the script will work backwards to tell the story about who ended up where. Tom is in some sort of loose confinement, Hal is out in the ghetto, Ben is in some hippie commune with his effed up sister, and Matt is in re-education camp?????

As far as the sister goes. I think Lexi needs to "look at the flowers ".

  4. I have a Voodoo 16.5 barrel installed on a recent build and it fit like a glove. I have a hard time imagining that the alignment pin itself is out of spec. For that to happen the hole in the receiver extension would also have to be out of spec to fit the oversize pin. This to me seems pretty unlikely.

More likely is the receiver itself is cut a bit narrow. Chalk this up as a good thing as a couple swipes with a file will give you a true "custom fit".

  5. Maybe a dumb question, but which do you drill and tap for set screw: lower or trigger? What size set screw and tap?

    Tito

Just run the set screw through the grip screw hole, then use a shorter grip screw. The hole may or may not be tapped all the way trough, depending on your receiver. The screw lines up right with the back of the trigger allowing you to take out any pre-travel. Jard uses the same exact principal for setting sear engagement on their triggers.

    Set screw is 1/4x28x3/8

  6. Factory trigger. Add a grip screw that removes pretravel and a set of jp springs. Then take a cutting wheel and cut the hammer hook off to make it a speed hammer and your out like 25 bucks

For a back up gun you don't want to spend a bunch of money on....this is close to what I do

$0.39 for the set-screw and $10.99 for the JP springs makes for one slick trigger for less than $12. Worth mentioning that you'll also need to fit the disconnector and safety, so you need to know what you're doing, but it ain't rocket science.

I've got this same set-up in my back up gun now and it breaks at just over 3lb. If it didn't have more over-travel than my JP, I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference.

  7. I have the Ultimate in my 5.25 and put the Extreme in a buddies gun. The Extreme does have a slightly lower pull. Either is a huuuuuge improvement over the factory trigger. Is it going to be like the Volquartsen trigger in a Mark II........No. It's still a striker fired gun.

  8. Who made the upper? I'm looking at uppers without the extras for a build.

    I really it. It's a simple AR15.

That upper looks to be a DPMS Lo-Pro. You can get them from Midway for appx. $70. I'm not sure how much you really gain for weight savings though as they are heavier walled than a standard A3 receiver. I have one on a .22 upper as the FA is totally nonfunctional.
