  1. That is what I've heard, but I cannot find it in the rulebook. Under Limited 10 in the book it states no for mag length restrictions, but I have received different info from a couple of supposedly good sources. Can anyone quote me a rule that is more current than the latest book I have, red 14th edition? (Edited by cardboardkiller at 11:15 pm on Dec. 24, 2002)
  2. I don't want to get caught on a technicality and am new to USPSA/IPSC and wondered if there were any length restrictions for a double-stack mag in Limited 10? I am using the standard length SV mag with a wedge basepad, I am going to have to shave some off of them to get them to fit in the IDPA box anyway, but I just wondered what if any restrictions there were. I have the latest 14th edition rule book, but I want to be sure.
  3. I'm going to use it for carry, I have guns for IDPA and IPSC, although not near enough as far as I am concerned. I need a carry gun, I have a couple of "truck guns" but nothing suitable for carry at this time. I'm not a very large person, 5'10", but I want something thin with a full size grip. I have large hands (and feet, lol) I wear large if not extra large gloves and the subcompact pistols don't fit my hands at all. Plus, if I ever have to use it, I want to be able to go completely full auto when drawing, just like at a match. STI's customer service is supposedly great and I want to buy from someone that will make my purchase right with a minimum of discomfort.
  4. I ordered an STI BLS 40 today and just wondered what everyone's thoughts were.
  5. Unless I'm mistaken, you have to put your firearms in a lockable "airline approved" case which had to be a hard case last time I checked.
  6. UGGGHHHH!!!! Gun jams and turkey, as of yesterday they are my two least favorite things.
  7. My gun is brand new, just picked it up friday and it is a factory built SV, I bought it to shoot IDPA and some Limited 10 with and I need it to lock back, I don't shoot enough IPSC for it to be a bad thing. I'm going to send my tubes to Grams and got some tips from a friend of mine, he seems to think there is too much tension in the plunger and that it needs about half a coil cut off the spring and he told me to do some polishing on the mating surfaces of the slide stop and the plunger and that should take care of it after my mags get a good tune up. 8. Can someone help me figure out why I can't get my SV mags to lock the slide back?
  9. A caliber conversion takes me about 2 seconds, I just step from my 650 for .45 to my 650 set up for 38 super. I wish we could post pics in here.
  10. I'll put in a vote for the big Dillon, I don't have to waste my time tumbling because of the sheer amount of cases I can put in the damn thing, plus their "no BS" warranty makes me feel better about spending the extra cash.
  11. Get a 475 Linebaugh, all you have to do is draw it and the targets will run like hell, that is cost effective.
  12. I'm with Eric on this one, I've tried to rationalize buying another reloading machine to load shotgun shells on, but it would take me so long for it to pay for itself with the money I would save I couldn't bring myself to do it. The savings just aren't there compared to pistol and rifle ammo for the average shooter.
  13. I'll give you $51.00, but it's just because I'm a helluva guy!!!
  14. I've regretted selling more guns than I care to think about, don't do it!!!!
  15. I have handled a few Edges and I cannot for the life of me find anything wrong with them, in fact that maybe my next gun for IPSC.
  16. Just blame it on cross-dominance like I do
  17. I just finished setting up my second 650 last night , I wish we could post pics, and I was right, 2 of them on one bench rocks!!!! The Hornady lube is the shiznit for case lube, I've been helping 2 of my friends get there 650's lined out and I tried loading some brass that hadn't been lubed and after I smacked the new Dillon owner around a little I made him go outside and lube the cases.
  18. The 945 just works, I think the spherical bushing lends itself to reducing recoil and it fits my hand better than most 1911's. The 945 is a really trick gun for the price, I paid $1225.00 and tax for mine, a friend of mine runs a gun shop, and I'd put it up against any gun. I've fired around 15,000 rounds through mine and I've never had a jam, I shot somewhere around 400 rounds with a sticking ejector, they are spring loaded, and it ran flawlessly. I don't think there is a better gun on the market for twice the price.
  19. I'm with tightloop on this one, I prefer my Les Baer in 38 super, but I shoot my S&W 945 better than the conventional 1911's in 45.
  20. I'm using 4.8 grains of 231 with a 130gr winchester fmj in my Les Baer 38 super and it runs about 1050fps. Couple that with a 12lb recoil spring and it runs like a champ, very little recoil and the slide still cycles super fast, no pun intended. I use this for my IDPA gamer load.
  21. I got my mag pouches in and the 771 does seem smoother than the 773's. I'll have to wait until my holster and belt come in and let you guys know what I think, the next IPSC match is next saturday and it'll be my first match rigged up to race in limited 10. I shot a few matches in open division, but the dot was kicking my ass so I sold my open gun and went to something a little more familiar, now if I can just get my mind rolling when I shoot IPSC and get out of my IDPA habits. I shot a "C" level classifier my first time out with my Limited 10 gun, maybe there is hope for me.
  22. Thanks, I just ordered one of the new carbon fiber look 012's, a 771 mag pouch and 3 773 mag pouches all in carbon fiber look, hey I gotta match my Carbon Creations grips don't I, hehe. I shot an ipsc match today and found the general consensus was that the 771's were faster, but the 773's were a tad bit more secure. Any thoughts? I shoot a stroked over Les Baer PII with the 1.5" package and hard chrome in 38 Super and also what used to be a Springfield TRP, but there isn't much Springfield left in it. I'm hoping to order an SV single stack this winter in 38 Super, another $2500 gun, I've got it bad, lol.
  23. I have been looking at the safariland 012's and the CR Speed 2001's, could someone clue me in if these are legal for Limited 10?
  24. I am looking to buy an IPSC rig for my 1911 that doesn't need me to drill a hole in the trigger guard. Any thoughts or suggestions, I had a Limcat, but a 1911 trigger guard was too wide for it, I don't want to have to carve too heavily on a $150 holster and I sure don't want to carve on a $2500 gun just to make a fit a holster. Thanks.
