Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It may not matter what gun you shoot, but I wouldn't use a POS Hi-Point! At some point, you do want to be competitive and remove as many variable as possible and leave it strictly to the performance of the competitor.
  2. Does anyone know if a tactical light can or cannot be mounted to the 30?
  3. I'm looking at picking up a Glock. As kabooms go, which caliber has historically been more likely & which less likely to kb?
  4. Been trying to decide between a 30, 36 & 26. I've been Glockless for about 6 months now & for some reason, I've heard them calling me again. I know I'm talking 9mm & 45 acp. I'm going compact for no particlular reason, so the "brick-ish" nature of the 30 is okay (at least I think it'll be ok). I'm looking for the best shooter of the 3 options...
  5. I've learned that's all about building muscle memory. Performing enough deliberate presentations & dry firing the first shots is important. Then when it's no longer training, your muscles kick in & everything just works naturally.
  6. Is the use of cover explained during the walk through or is it really up to the shooter to best utilize what is provided?
  7. I'm on a "shoot only one gun/ trigger" phase this year. I plan on getting really good at pulling the trigger on my USPs
  8. Recently started competing in IDPA and have been told that ALL shot have to be from behind cover. My question is this, how much of my body has to be behind cover while I shoot? Can I shoot standing up behind the mail box? Can I shoot over 55 gal drum? How do I know I'm properly utilizing the cover that is provided?
  9. From what I've read, isn't the Expert to wide? I understand that if the right side lever is removed, the gun is legal. By the way, what are the measurements of the "box" used to determine if a pistol legal for IDPA use?
  10. Is there an ideal gun for IDPA? I've tried a few and have stuck w/ my USP 9. It's quick, accurate, reliable & I'm very comfy w/ it. I as because I've seen ALOT of Glocks, Berettas, and a few 1911's but very few HK's & Sigs and was just wondering do these guns have attributes that make them better suited for this type of competition?
  11. Take whatever you're most comfortable with...if that's one of your revolvers, take that; if it's the Kimber, take that. The most important thing that someone told me prior to my first match, was to have fun. IDPA is (if nothing else) alot of fun. My goal for my 1st match was to come in 2nd to last. I just didn't want to be last Thankfully, I've done better than that in my first few matches.
