Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Need some help with WST and .40 for a subcompact gun (SR40c) I have. What is a good starting point and any published data for WST powder and 180gr plated berry's bullets would be great?
  2. Here is what I did, take it for what it is worth. Buy some 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 grit sandpaper (Auto Parts store should have them) Check the gun to make sure it is not loaded. Remove the slide from the gun. Place you thumb on the hammer and slowly drop the hammer so you do not break it. Once that is done, look at the trigger bar when you pull the trigger to see where the trigger bar touches the frame. Remove the trigger bar from the gun and remove the trigger from the bar. (optional) Take 1000 grit sandpaper and place a 4 by 6 inch peice on your desk or flat surface. Start with where the trigger bar touches the gun. Place the trigger bar on the sandpaper and move it in the directions the trigger bar moves (front to back). This will remove all the high spots on the trigger bar. Keep working the trigger bar until you feel it become easier to move. At this time jump to the next grit and so on. Now the plunger groove is a little more difficult. You need to use the same proccess I recommand above, but with one twist. To polish the where the plunger rides on the trigger bar, cut a small piece of sandpaper that fits the groove and by three or four inches in lenght. Then use the plunger as your surface to smooth the trigger bar plunger groove. Pull the sandpaper slowly at first until your get the hang of it.
  3. Without a doubt if you are shooting a EAA gun. Well worth the 30 dollars and then 10 minutes to either cut the end off or drill the threads out and use it as a push though die.
  4. Thanks Bob I currently shoot at Wake Range just for fun. I am planning on shooting Limited 10 in Oxford this winter if time permits.
  5. I have to say if you are having nose diving issues get the EGW under sized die. I just purchased a new Limited Elite in 40 S&W for limited class at a local club. I got one factory chrome mag that I installed hennings H-141 mag extension with grams follower and spring. I then used a lee bulge buster to remove the bulge from once fired brass I get from the range. It did not matter what length I loaded them too, I got nose dives every time. After reading a post about how to fix the problem I went out and ordered the parts that I needed. I first checked mag lips and found out that it was out of spec. Then I turned to my case problems. After drilling out the threads and using the under sized die just like the lee bulge buster, problem fixed. No more nose dives and now I get 20 rounds per mag. Once I start using the mags a little more I hope to be able to load 21 per, only time will tell. My current setup is 180gr TC lead 4.2gr WST any small pistol primer OAL 1.85 I am not worrying about PF yet until I feel I have the correct setup first.
  6. After reading a ton of reviews on differnet manufacturers gear, I finally spent the money and purchased my DAA setup. I have to say, it is a really nice system. Cry once and be happy forever.
  7. I have been shooting at a look club getting ready to make the jump to Limited 10. I am shooting with a EAA Limited Elite .40 S&W. I was wondering if anyone uses SR 4756, HS-6 or WST with 200gr or 220gr lead bullets? If you have any load information you want to share please give me some details on your setup. Barrel Lenght OAL Cartridge Powder used and weight in grains Power Factor if known FPS Primer Used Cases Used Dirty Clean Smokey I know it sounds like alot of infomation, but it will be very helpful to me. Thanks
  8. What would be a good starting load if my OAL max is 1.4 do to the new K40 mags? I think I might start at 180gr lead over 4gr of WST.
  9. Sounds great. I just picked up and new toy witness elite limited 40S&W. Once I get some thinner grips and my reloads just right, I will see you there. Thanks
  10. Hey everyone, My name is Mark. I have been shooting for the past couple years at a local range for fun. I am also into reloading to save money so I can shoot often. Hope to start shooting in some matches soon.
  11. I called them and she said they are two separate items. She read what I read and even she agreed that it sounds like they come with it.
  12. IPSC BOX H-500 Series Base Pad These pads start out at 5 mm larger than the factory basepads ! They will allow you to convert a factory magazine to 18, 19 or even 20 rounds in 40 S&W. I supply with a Grams 10 coil follower & spring for durability. They are available as H-500, H-520, H-540, H-560, H-580, H-600 and H-620. The H-500 and H-520 are safe for the IPSC box. The H-540 and H-560 are IPSC "Big Box" pads. If you do some work on your rear sight you can use the H-580, H-600 or H-620 pads and still make it fit. The H-520 means it's 0.520" height. The H-620 is 0.620" (15.75mm) and internally more efficient than factory pads. For the H-141 you have to add 20 bucks more to get the spring and follower.
  13. I just got a new Elite Limited gun in .40 S&W and was wondering about which magazine pads to get. I see that Hennings website has H-620 and H-141 bases. Besides one extra round and 20 dollars more is there really any difference between them? Also, will the H-620 fit the guns magazine well I decide to go that route?
  14. I live in Raleigh, NC. If anyone would not mine meeting me that would be awesome.
