  1. Rooster, thanks for your comments...I think we are getting to the heart of the matter now. From what I can see by comparing my 3 gun frame/trigger to my production frame/trigger, if the trigger safety is cut down much at all to reduce pretravel, then the trigger bar will be off the drop shelf. Virtually every limited Glock out there should be having this problem. Last time I checked, the DK trigger has a cut down trigger safety...how does yours deal with this issue? Or does this problem maybe only manifest if the trigger return spring gets a bit weak?
  2. Yes, it does pop up... But... This problem never occurs when the trigger is pulled. It ONLY happens when the trigger is forward/cocked/reset...as if clearing a malfunction. When the trigger is in this forward position, the trigger bar seems to have a bit of play in it(up and down). Even though the trigger return spring should be stretched tighter, it is now at a shallower angle and doesn't seem to be pulling upward with as much force.
  3. Yeah, I keep leaning more and more in that direction...
  4. Unfortunately, that didn't help much. I have an armorer/inspection plate for viewing the components, so I can already see what is happening. Thanks though.
  5. The trigger bar doesn't seem to be held "down" by the connector. It seems to be "floating" a bit. If I pull up on the trigger bar until it touches the connector, it stays there...but if I push down on the trigger bar, it doesn't touch the connector...if I let go, it stays there (not touching the connector). Shouldn't the trigger return spring keep it in contact with the connector?
  6. I tried another striker with the same result. I am going to have to get a new trigger return spring and after that try a new trigger bar. Only have about 4 days before I leave for the 3GN pro qualifier...I'm about to give up on these Glocks and spend some $ that I don't have.
  7. I did try another connector. Same result.
  8. No, the loop is vertical. I wish it was an easy fix like that!
  9. It is a polished factory connector.
  10. It has all been cleaned. Just looking at it further...looks like there is some inconsistency in the vertical position of the trigger bar. Should it be pulled up against the top of the slot in the trigger housing? I took the connector out to see where the trigger bar/trigger return spring positions the bar vertically in the trigger housing slot. Looks like it just wants to float in the middle or towards the bottom of the slot, which looks to be giving the striker room to pass over the top of the trigger bar.
  11. OK, looking for some help here. Noticed recently that my G34 striker is failing to reset/uncocking when racked. If empty or loaded and I rack the slide very quickly, the striker sometimes does not catch, and as a result, the trigger is dead. Can't make it happen when the trigger has been pulled, so unloaded starts are not a problem...it only happens when practicing empty or when racking for a malfunction, etc when the striker is properly cocked and ready to go. So the striker is cocked and ready...then I rack quickly and fully to the rear...now the striker is not cocked. Sear/striker engagement looks to be about 1/2. I tried switching out connectors and trigger return springs from another pistol...no changes. Any ideas?
  12. 1 of our juniors is taken, but we might have 1 or 2 left...
  13. The Yackleys wanted to give our thanks to everyone involved in this match...from Andy, Mike, the Nobles, and down to all the ROs. Another awesome match! It was the most pleasant BRM that we have seen in our 3 years there. The stages were challenging, but not crazy if you knew what to expect. The boys had fun with the stages, especially the bath house. Special thanks to Doublestar for being the title sponsor. The dinner on Sat was great! We are looking forward to next year.
  14. If anyone is interested, Becky has posted 350+ photos from the 5 days of the match: https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.516787065123303.1073741856.442536435881700&type=1
  15. Awesome! Not that anyone cares, but I like that change. Same here! +2 on that!
  16. Trying to figure out what happened to the "smallbore" stage. I understood from the start that it might not be Anschutz rifles with aperture sights (10/22's with optic instead), but switching from standing to sitting, kneeling, and standing...with no slings??? I have not competed in every shooting sport out there, but I have yet to see a widespread rimfire shooting event that has people shoot from sitting and kneeling without a sling. I thought that the intent was to mirror the actual competitions out there to draw people from different disciplines? The Bullseye COF was changed to make it more like the actual sport (more than just slow fire). You would be much better off to have left the smallbore portion as just standing than to morph it into something totally different from the actual sport.
  17. Not true. My personal favorite, far above and beyond all other methods scoring is Horner. Everything other than an A is a penalty. 100 points for a 1 gun stage, 125 for a 2 gun stage, 150 for a 3 gun stage. Of course you need a proper paper target with a head to use this scoring. +1 on the Horner scoring!!!! We don't shoot to miss and 2 D's is basically a miss.
  18. Not sure how lower times are factored out with stage points...someone will have to show me the equation for that. Simply put, time plus makes the shorter stages almost worthless. The only way for a total time match to be close to "fair"(equal value) is for all the stages to have the same average time. If you don't want stages to have equal value, then that is a different story (like assigning different amounts of points based on the number of weapons used, etc). If someone wins a 10 second stage by 10% with total time, he is 1 sec above the next guy(instead of 10 stage points). The next guy wins a 100 second stage by 10% with total time, he is now 10 sec above the next guy(instead of 10 stage points). Now the short stage guy only has to win 10 more short stages to equal the 1 stage win by the other guy. Does that sound fair? I guess it just depends on whether you think that stages should all be worth the same or not... It is Larry's match, so he is free to run it however he chooses...I just hope that this is a short-lived excursion.
  19. Shit I agree! Those stages are big/small/big/small. Better start practicing long range rifle. Crap! I hate total time matches. Now that everyone is switching to practiscore, why the push to simplify scoring?
  20. Great match and great weather on Friday. Well designed stages that were very demanding. Thanks to all the RO's that kept the stages running smoothly. This was our first Area match and we had a great time. Thanks again to everyone involved in making this match a success! -Mark, Becky, Tim, Sean, and Andrew Yackley P.S.- I saw some "unofficial combined" results posted somewhere on Sat, but can't find them now...are they still up somewhere?
  21. Looking for a location in WI or Northern IL to shoot Action Pistol. Any info would be appreciated.
  22. Many thanks to everyone that organized and ran this match! It was excellent on all counts. I am already looking forward to next year.
  23. Here is the deal: Wife and kids are in one state, I am in another. The 2 boys need to fly alone with guns to where I am at... wife can take them in and I will be picking them up. Can we take them in to check the bags and pick them up, so they are never "possessing" the firearms without an adult? Or does the Possession of Handgun By Juvenile form make their "possession" legal? Or will we have to ship them?
  24. Sounds like a lot of running. On a scale of "1" is an all bay match to "10" the SOBs are trying to kill me, how would you rate this match? Based purely on movement, I would say that if TFD3G was a 10, this would be a 4 or 5. That doesn't sound bad, but there really was more movement than most matches. Almost every stage had a spot or two where you could hit a full sprint. I enjoyed all the moving
