  1. Well guys, I give up. I've tried everything I can think of and everything you've recommended and I still can't come up with a reason or a solution. I have switched the mag release back to its original location. I really appreciate all the feedback and the help that has been offered. Nealio, thanks for offering to let me try a new follower. If anyone comes across this in the future, let me know if you find a solution. Thanks again guys!
  2. All right, here's where I'm at... If I put a full mag in, it does seem to catch the way it should whether the slide is locked back or not. So, I guess it just won't seat an empty mag, which is different from how it was. I've always used empty mags for dry fire reload practice. Never had this issue. Is it possible it could be that simple? I'm headed for the range this afternoon to check it out and make sure it functions properly. I'll post results when I get back.
  3. I see what you're talking about. The question is, what's causing it? I'll try out your theory later this morning when I get some free time.

  5. OK, I hate to admit how technically inept I am, but how in the world do you post pictures?
  6. Just to make sure I'm not losing my mind: What happens when you do this: With the mag release installed on the right side, squeeze the mag release and hold it down. Insert the magazine full, and then release the mag release. Does that lock the magazine in place? No. I'll try to get some pics up in the next hour or so. I'm completely stumped at this point.
  7. Your outline is correct. Tension on the mag spring/follower seems normal. And just to add one more thing, I have tried this with 4 mags. They all do the same thing.
  8. I tried the baseplate sanding, and I've got it sanded down to where it does not touch but the problem persists. I'm really thinking it has something to with the top of the mag and the slide. Again, when the slide is off the mag seats just fine. Put the slide on and it won't go all the way in. Plus, if I lock the slide back and put the mag in, it goes in. But then if I release the slide it hangs up on the follower of the mag.
  9. Took the base plate off and the mag seats properly. So does that mean it's the base plate? And the mags are the MecGar 2 rib mags.
  10. The base plate doesn't even come in contact with the bottom of the gun. If I take the slide off the mag will catch, but with the slide on it comes up short of catching.
  11. I posted this in the regular EAA forum, but I though I would post it here as well. I flipped the mag release on my Witness Match from the left side to the right and now the mags won't seat in the well. They won't go high enough into the mag well for the mag catch to engage. The gun is about 1 year old, so it's not the old style mag release. Suggestions?
  12. No, it's not a new gun. I've had it a little over a year. And I'm using the stock plunger. As far as the symmetry of the mag release, I'll check that.
  13. The mag release cuts measure out the same on both sides. And I don't see or feel any burrs anywhere. As I said, it seems to be related to the slide somehow. When the slide is out of the gun, the mags seat. When I put the slide back in they won't.
  14. No, didn't think of that. I'll give it a try. OK, I pulled the grips but I can't really see what's going on. It seems to be related to the slide somehow. Without the slide the mags seat, but when I put the slide back into the gun they won't go all the way into the magwell. If I put the mag release back on the left side of the gun the problem goes away.
  15. No, didn't think of that. I'll give it a try.
  16. I hope someone can give me some insight because I'm stumped right now! I switched the mag release of my Witness Match 9mm from the left side of the gun to the right side. Now I can't get mags to seat properly in the well, and of course, they won't drop out when the mag release is pressed. Any thoughts or ideas? dukeguy
  17. Just got the Shooters Connection Ultra. Very high quality. Plenty of room for 2 pistols, more ammo than I can shoot in one day, tools, and all the necessities. I can see this bag lasting me for years.
  18. Check out Henning's webstore. Lots of custom Tanfoglio stuff. So far I have installed his custom trigger, recoil and hammer springs, firing pin and fiber optic front sight. If I'm not mistaken he also has magwells, ambi safeties and probably lots of other things I'm not aware of. Welcome to the Tanfoglio family! My link
  19. I just got my blood test back and my lead level is slightly above normal. I don't shoot indoors and I wear latex gloves to clean my guns and handle lead bullets during reloading. I also use a de-lead soap to wash gun shot residue off my hands after shooting. Having done all of that, I still have a slightly elevated lead level.
  20. I've searched but can't seem to find any reviews on these. Anybody familiar with them? http://mounthoodsupply.com/product_info.php?products_id=49
  21. Yup, that was it. Didn't know that. Must have gotten switched when I cleaned it last time. Thanks for helping a newb!
  22. Well, not only am I having trouble with my reloader, I also can't get the pic to upload. So if you can help me with an answer to my reloading issue without the pic I would REALLY appreciate it!
