  1. Hey Guys, Not sure where to post to get the best view and chose here. Thought there was a regional section but guess not. I signed my wife up for a USPSA into pre-req course June 8th in Richmond, Ca. I've done it but gonna do it again. I got her a glock 34 and still gauging her interest. I'm looking to see if anyone has a belt, holster, and mag pouches we can borrow for the day. I don't want to get her gear and find out she doesn't like it. I'm in east bay norcal. Thanks!
  2. I bought a CZ TS on here while back, amazing gun! It's the 40sw version and came with a 9mm barrel. I loaded some 40sw and was shooting today and noticed I cannot eject a complete live round without it getting caught on the slide. This happens ejecting slowly or quickly .Rounds fired and not an issue cycling. But if I were shooting a match say and they said to show clear, it's gonna hang up trying to eject a live round. Any ideas? Maybe they are too long? I can't remember the length but will go measure.
  3. I'd be interested in the response to the above. I have several milled lowers ready for uppers and like the idea of a glock mag adapter BUT also defintely want last round bolt open. The $70 lower linked above isn't a bad idea. I guess that's about the same price as a mag adapter. It is nylon but for 9mm, cant imagine there would be issues.
  4. I have two 650s. One is new in box and the other is setup. I will admit it's been a year since I've reloaded; got married, work, woodworking all got in the way. I was going to sell one 650 but like the idea of having one for rifle and one for pistol. That said, is having a bullet feeder worth getting ride of a powder check? Having only 5 stages it's my only choice IF I want to seat and crimp separately. I like the safety aspect of a powder check especially if I take the wife shooting and friends. I guess the other question is, how crucial is seating and crimping separately? It was advised to do that from the start. I have a new hornady seat and taper crimp die but have never used the crimp feature. Thanks in advance for the info.
  5. I cast for my pistol calibers and plan to cast and load 45 colt for a lever and revelover. Many recommended casting and sizing to .454. what die set will do that? I like hornady and they have a 454 Casull set but it lists at .452 diameter. Any info would be helpful.
  6. I must be confused in my reading and research. I was reading that a few that used the Swage It broke or bent shell plates and GSI at one point made hardened steel shell plates. Im a LNL convert and still getting used to the blue life. Think over only done 600rds of 40sw so far. My 5 gal bucket of 223 and 5 gal of 762x51 are what have me interested in press mounted swaging.
  7. You guys running a bullet feeder, that means no powder check die? I seat and crimp separately taking up the last open stage.
  8. I want to run a Swage It on my 650 and was reading that a steel shellplate is best to use with them. Anyone make steel shell plates for the 650?
  9. That 40 200gr Arsenal mold looks great. But the meplat at .31 looks massive. Think they will feed well in semi autos? Cant post this link on my phone right. http://arsenalmolds.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=161
  10. Looking at an Arsenal 200gr 403 no lube groove mold for a 2011 and a CZ. Anyone use one or have experience with no lube grooved molds?
  11. Is accurate 2015 a good powder to stock up on? I shoot 223 and 308 and have powder for both but have a chance to get acurrate 2015 for $12 a pound before hazmat/shipping. Was thinking to stock up if it's worth it and a decent plinking powder. Thanks.
  12. Thanks guys! I've havent gotten it out of the box yet, been so busy with family and engagement stuff. I did scoff at the $20 price for the click dial. I ordered 2 purple dials and a large powder hopper from Dawson Precision and a bearing/low mass shellplate kit for ebay, it was only $9. My garage is a mess with a jointer, planer, and table saw strategically placed. The case feeder on the Dillon is on the other side so I'm likely going to have to adjust where I put it. It came with a strong mount and I think roller handle. Bunch of pick up tubes as well. I didn't think it was a screaming deal but I $1280 shipped for the press, casefeeder, 6 conversion kits, 8 toolheads, strong mount, and a bunch of extra parts, I figured it was justified. Now I just need to itemized my LNL setup and see what I can get for that. I don't see a point in keeping it as I'm not loading as much as I used to.
  13. Finally made the plunge into a Dillon 650. A used one from Florida. Coming with case feeder, 8 toolheads, 6 conversions kits in all calibers I shoot. So stoked! It's big change moving from an LNL to a Dillon 650. Main reason was so I can trim 223 to blackout ON THE PRESS using the casefeeder. Can't do that with a LNL. Lnl was also giving me major casefeeding problems. Questions I Have: What dial for the powder bar is recommended? Think I'm gonna get two of the Arredondo dials and paint the lines with white out so they stand out. Prairie Dog makes a micrometer like thing but it's $37 and I'd need two. The Swage It I'm reading has mixed reviews. It can crack a shell plate? I was really looking forward to being able to use the casefeeder and trim, size and swage in a pass. Clean and then pass again for loading. Having the handle each piece of brass is pretty tedious. Roller cam follower, worth it? I found the shellplate needle bearing, washer, and low mass detent shipped for $9. Figured might as well be ready and avoid spilling powder.
  14. I have a couple steel 1911 frames and aluminum AR and 1911 frames I need to coat. They are raw steel and aluminum, not stainless or previously coated. Anyone use Norells Moly Resin before? Seems like the most durable finish to apply especially for rails on a 1911. My concern is having to bead blast the frames or not. If simply degreasing with brake cleaner and scrubbing with a green pad will do, I'll use Moly Resin. The added expense to have them blasted probably isn't worth it.
  15. Similar question to buying standard capacity mags in Nevada and driving back into Cali. Are there going to be LEO pulling over cars with Cali license plate leaving Cabelas in Nevada? Sounds absurd BUT we're getting used to that in the laws that are being passed.
  16. I don't need dies but did think the 4 extra powder dispenser (quick changes) would be nice. I'll have to add it up again and subtract 20% and see if that's where the guy is at. It's a long shot as the seller keeps saying the guy he's selling it for doesnt haggle, wont budge on $50.
  17. I have a Hornady LNL with everything minus a bullet feeder. I do 9mm, 45, 40, 380, 223, 308, and blackout. I want a Dillon 650 so I can mount a router trimmer I got and cut 223 down to blackout in bulk utilizing the case feeder. Also be nice to trim and size 308 and 223. Soo...I came across an used 650. Seller is selling for a friend who claim it was only used for 100rds. Seller wants $1600 and includes: press, case feeder, 3 plates for case feeder, 4 quick change setups, 3 conversion kits (only 2 I need) stron mount, powder check, 45 die set, spare parts kit, RCBS trimmer and some primers. That sound like $1600 to you? Seller wont ship so if he's got it in a month when I'm able to drive there. He turned down my $1475 and 5+ hours of total driving to get it. I can likely sell my Hornady LNL setup for $1k I think. Not totally sure. There's a lot there. $800 for sure I know that.
  18. Placed order. Said only $7 for shipping. We'll see. Have email confirmation. Took measurements on a couple 1911s and a cz of mine, think only shaving off a 1/16th will do.
  19. Thanks guys for the info! Think I'll order one soon, hope shipping isn't nuts. Is there any play in the trigger? I guess it cant't really rotate to fall off.

  21. The GF got me a small extreme shooters DVC grip, their smallest one, for my bday. I put a magwell on it and gripped it, felt great. Hard to tell what size trigger I should go for. The small drop in flat trigger is out of stock. Link Here http://shop.xline-geppert.de/en/drop-in/23-x-line-vario-trigger-straight.html This one looks cool BUT doesnt list the min and max lengths, anyone have any idea? http://shop.xline-geppert.de/en/fit-in/17-x-line-vario-trigger.html I also attached two photos of my grip, tough to guess but maybe that would help determining what trigger to get. I can of course go with with an STI gunsmith blank and file it down myself.
  22. The GF said she'd get me the small DVC Extreme Shooters grip for my B-day so I need to now quickly get a magwell. Would a steel or aluminum work better for a 40sw 2011 build? I'm using a steel full dust cover and unique slide with only rear serrations, so it's gonna have weight to it. Any brands of steel that I should look into?
  23. Those trigger blanks look like a good idea and should be easy to shorten. Tough part is finding a site that has everything in stock so I don't lay several shipping charges.
