  1. The PIN is a 7-digit code just after your name on your Front Sight mailing label. The "9" I believe was simply a typo. Kim
  2. Yes, the rate includes breakfast for up to two guests per room. It's a part of the contract I signed. Kim
  3. The hyperlink for making your room reservations online at the 3-Gun Nationals Match hotel is now active and available here. Let me know if you have any problems or questions. Thanks for your patience! Kim

  5. The squadding PINS and letters have not yet gone out. I apologize for the delay. There's a problem synchronizing the DB I use to keep track of entries and the online squadding system. However, it's only minor and scheduled for repair on Monday the 6th. I hope to get the letters out late next week. As soon as the letters have been mailed, we will activate the online squadding system and allow you to begin squadding to your heart's content. Thanks for your patience! Kim
  6. The stages for both the Lim/Prod/Rev match and the Open/Lim-10 match are now available for viewing on the Nationals page. Kim
  7. Sorry guys, I got bogged down in some contract negotiations that took quite awhile but FINALLY I've some news to report. The deed is done and you can make reservations through USPSA's brokered arrangement if you wish. More information about all of this as well as more in-depth schedule and stage info is available on the Nationals page. Hope that helps! Thanks for your patience. Kim
  8. Hi guys, I'll try to address some of this stuff for you. *I haven't sent confirmation packets yet because I'm waiting for area info to come in from LVCVA as well as the welcome letter, schedule, etc. I hope to get all that within the next few weeks, but with the Handgun match looming just around the bend, it may be pushed back a bit. *The match will be 3 multi-gun stages, 3 pistol, 3 rifle, and 3 shotgun stages. *We will be having a staff shoot on Thursday before the match, as time allows. It will not count for score, and we probably won't be shooting all the stages. *We have lined up a match hotel for this match. They are giving us a great rate and including the breakfast buffet for up to two guests per room. This all just came about in the last couple days, so I need to sign the contract before I can post the link and phone number/discount codes. I'm *really* *REALLY* crossing my fingers that this will be done tomorrow, but it just takes a bit of time to process these things. I promise I'm trying to get it up on the site as quick as I can. I hope I've addressed everything. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Just drop me a line at kim@uspsa.org Thanks! Kim
  9. We've made arrangements with a match hotel in Vegas for a special room rate. It's an excellent deal and will include breakfast. I'll be posting a link on the nationals website as soon as I've signed the agreement. I'm hoping to have that done by the end of today. I'll keep you posted. Kim
  10. Well, hello there. Please don't email me your requests if you've already submitted a request on the website. My inbox is literally overloaded. I noticed it when I walked by and saw my computer smoking. Likewise, if you've emailed me a request INSTEAD of putting your request in through the wait list form please go there and do it that way instead as it is the proper procedure for requesting a slot. I promise I'll start making calls as soon as is humanly possible, so I'd appreciate it if all of you emailing me to say, "I just put my name on the wait list, now when will I get a call and/or slot?" will just hang in there and not do that as well. It's not that I don't love hearing from you all, it's just that my inbox is feeling a bit stressed at the moment. Holy carp, that's a lot of email. :/ Thanks a bunch! Kim
  11. That's alright, John, you can use my name. I assure you my feelings aren't easily hurt. Rather than deal in hearsay and let the rumors and slander fly, let's get a few facts straight and nip this in the bud right now. And let's get it straight from the horse's mouth, shall we? Kathy, to answer your question first: it typically takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 30 days to get a candidate assigned to a mentor. However, as you all may or may not be aware, NROI has gone through quite a regime change lately. Bill Kehoe retired, Mike Braun retired, Arnie Christianson resigned and John Hurst is on an indeterminate hiatus. This left us with quite a big gap in our instructor corps. We tried to fill that void as quickly as possible, but we would be doing the organization a BIG disservice if we just stuck any ol' warm body in those positions with little or no training. Therefore, we went out of our way to find just the right instructors and give them rigorous preparation with which to build a strong foundation for their teaching careers. After their certification as instructors they are initially only certified to teach level one courses. With more training they will be allowed to teach level II courses and take on Correspondence Course students. What this means to you is that due to all of this, we basically only have Amidon, Worden, McManus, and Wilson who are currently certified to take on CRO students for the whole of the organization. Hirst, Helm, Stevens, and Schmidt, our new instructors and instructor-trainees, are all working very hard at getting the training necessary to go there as well, but it takes time. I realize it seems unfair to pay for something and have to wait months for it to come to fruition. It's not our intention for it to be that way. Trust me, we would LOVE to see all of you go through the program as quickly as you would like to go through it. However, by the same token, it wouldn't be fair to overload our instructors past the breaking point either. We have to keep in mind that they have regular day jobs and families and in addition to the correspondence courses, they are also teaching weekend classes and working matches and once in awhile they hope against hope for the ability to shoot a match. It WILL get better. We will get those new guys certified and be able to spread the students around a little more and get people through the course a little faster and it won't take so long to get you assigned to someone. In the meantime, if the wait isn't worth the $45 to you, you're more than welcome to request a refund. We won't hold it against you. As for your seminar request Mr. Heiter, I won't take a lot of time here defending myself or refuting the false things you said. I don't feel it's necessary. I think my work speaks for itself. All I'll say is that after receiving your email regarding your class I spoke with the instructor and he told me he would contact you directly. I left it at that. I can't control what others do or don't do. You are, however, more than welcome to call and speak to my "manager" (that would be Dave Thomas, Executive Director) at any time, that doesn't worry me in the least. I hope this clears things up a bit regarding the CRO class. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any more questions about any of this. Thanks for your time, Kim
  12. Match applications are available here. See you there. Kim
  13. Kevin, While I certainly can't make any promises...because, you know, that would just be stupid-- I can tell you that we've never turned anyone away from a match. However, having said that, the best way to insure that you actually have a slot in hand when you arrive is to get on the waiting list *early* when it opens. Option three is the best way to go for those who have an L/P/R slot and wish to shoot the O/L10 match. Those folks will already be there anyway, so it just makes sense for them to stick around as a walk on. Of course, there's always option four. But that involves midnight, sacrificing goats, and fishnet stockings...so I'd probably stick with options 1-3 if I were you. Kim
  14. McMeanus...causing trouble *again* Actually, the way it works is this: If you won an L/P/R slot you may shoot Limited, you may shoot Production, or you may shoot Revolver --- your choice. What you may not do is trade that slot for a Limited 10/Open slot. And vice versa. If you'd like a slot to the opposite match, there are several options available: 1) Ask your SC or Club President if he/she has one to spare. 2) Sign up on the waiting list which opens April 10th. 3) Show up at Registration for the appropriate match as a walk on. We always have a number of no-shows and dropouts and would be happy to squeeze you in if we can. Hope that helps! Kim
  15. Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. Ed, I wanted to clarify something to you from my email. I'll be doing an initial slot mailing this week, but if you can't get all the names to me, it's fine. I'll do another mailing after the holidays. I should have made that more clear in my email, I apologize. This was easier than I thought. Did I answer everything that needed answering? Kimberley
  16. Hi guys, This is my first post here, so be gentle with me. I thought I would respond to some of your questions and offer clarification where I could. I am in the process of distributing slots for the 2004 Nationals, as you are all aware by now. The reason for doing this so early is so that any unclaimed slots can be passed to the sections and clubs in a timely manner, immediately after the "activity credit" deadline. This will in turn allow them more time to distribute their earned slots. This is why section coordinators have not yet heard anything from me. Some other points: *Slots are not division-dependent this year. You may shoot in whichever division you prefer. In other words, if you won the slot by shooting Limited at an area match, it is not necessary for you to shoot Limited at the Nationals. This is a change from previous years. *If you were offered a slot, it won't be mailed until next month. Once you receive it, you have until May 10 to return it to me with payment. *Refunds are allowed, but there will be a small fee. The refund policy is clearly covered on the slot form itself. *I am distributing slots to area championship winners only at this time. The number of slots I distribute for any particular area is dependent upon the participation at that area match. If you're interested in seeing how that breakdown works, you can view it here at the USPSA Member's Page. It's a .pdf document near the bottom entitled, oddly enough, "Nationals Slot Policy". *If the first person I contact declines the slot, I go to the next on the list; until the 10th in line. At that time it goes into the pool for clubs and sections. *You can only win one slot, naturally. If you received more than one call from me it is more than likely because you finished high enough in a couple different matches in order to warrant more than one call. I try very hard to root out duplicates, but I make literally hundreds and hundreds of calls, so it's not unlikely that a few may slip through the cracks. *You can find area hotel information here at the Quincy Convention and Visitor's Bureau. The staff headquarters hotel has not yet been picked, as we are currently collecting bids. *I do not now, nor have I ever called returning champions from previous nationals. Those slots are sent out automatically. The only calls I make are for area championship slots. *We plan to be as accommodating as possible for juniors who wish to shoot the match. If you contact us soon enough in the process we will do whatever is within our power to arrange an accelerated shooting schedule or something along those lines. Hope this helps. I apologize for the length of this post, I just wanted to be sure to address all questions and concerns thus far. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
