  1. I'm about to drop the hammer on a CZ SP-01. I am waffling between the shadow custom (#91154) and the SP-01 standard (#91152). I have looked at so many different versions over the last week and I just can't seem to be able to make a decision on what I am looking for. I would like to get something that I can shoot in production out of the box but have the option, when I deploy, to send it off and have work done while I'm gone. I'm thinking that the shadow custom is going to be the way to go but I'm just not sure if there's anything that I'm missing along the way. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a strong option for a 'starter' CZ? For a little background, I have been shooting glocks for the last three or so years and last summer to now I have been shooting a G34 exclusively. I shot a major match last weekend and I was enamored with amount of CZ's I ended up competing against and how flat all of them seemed to shoot. Basically, my question is, if you were getting into the CZ game right now ready to shoot production in USPSA, what would you choose from the factory options that CZ offers?
  2. I'm in the exact same boat. This'll be my first classification increase since I've been shooting USPSA and, for some reason, classifiers from over a month ago aren't populating on the USPSA website. If they were there I'd have bumped up this month. I suppose there's always next month.
  3. https://clubs.practiscore.com/orsa-uspsa-june-2015/register Just signed up yesterday. Gonna make the trip out and then head up to Lexington for the BGSL match on Sunday. Goat a busy weekend ahead of me... Very excited.
  4. I think it's risky but I don't have any exact figures for you. I do know that I have been temporarily detained for just having a Glock magazine in my checked baggage in a middle eastern country. (I had shot a match the weekend before and slipped the mag into my coat pocket at the range, subsequently forgot about it) I think that bringing in something that resembles a pistol is a pretty risky endeavor indeed. Especially if a language barrier is involved.
  5. Hey, thanks guys. Had heard some things regarding this a while back but it was all a bit fuzzy. I appreciate the heads up.
  6. Hey guys, sorry for the naïveté but can I get a bit of clarification on what is meant by a 'classifier' match when it comes to level 2 matches?
  7. Great match today. Really glad that the weather held out for us to get nine of the stages in. Just wanted to thank the match director and all of the ROs for their perseverance and hard work this weekend.
  8. Thanks for the pro-tip. You weren't kidding, by the way! I'm riding around in a rental car and there were a couple of time that I wasn't sure I was gonna make it outta there under my own power.
  9. No just until tomorrow. They're gonna try to squeeze as many stages in as possible in the morning.
  10. Wish I woulda got a slot for Friday. We just got rained out today. I'm gonna head back to the hotel and do some kinda dance to make these damned rain clouds get outta here.
  11. I'm gonna be ther rain or shine. Traveling WAY too far to pull out for a bit of rain. *thinking happy thoughts...*
  12. ^^This^^ I feel the same way. I went from blade tech teklok to the ghost 360 and I've had much more consistent tension and faster reloads as I can more readily index the magazine from the draw. I'm a big fan and don't plan on going back any time soon.

One can only hope that Kryptek gets the hint and starts offering this pattern in their line. That is sick as hell!!!
  14. I'm in my first calendar year of USPSA and I am currently pending 'A' class. I practice once a weekend on most weekends that I don't have a match and when I can I'll try to slip in a second training session. I spend about 30 minutes a week dry firing and practicing index and reloads (usually the evening before my match). I'd love to do more dry fire practice because, I feel, my reload has been one of my least consistent parts of my weapons manipulation game. I always seem to spend more time making excuses as to why I can't rather than doing the work. Nothing to it but to do it, I suppose.
  15. I would love to find a nice bay to shoot in around the north TN area as well. I usually train at the Montgomery county shooting complex but they have events that leave the range closed to the public. I'd love to find an alternate around here some place. Any suggestions?
  16. The first 350 rounds through my .40 limited yeasterday. Similar issues that others are having in that I had several FTFs throughout the session. However, like Dustin said, They were significantly better towards the end of the session. I went from having 4-5 per magazine at the beginning of the day to one or two complete magazines fired between FTFs. Looking forward to getting some more work with her this weekend and trying to clear out the rest of the break-in bugs. Dustin, If I have any more issues, I'll give you guys a call but I'm sure that it won't end up being an issue.
  17. My best advise would be to send it back to the custom shop here at STI. Dustin, Thanks for the heads up. I didn't even know y'all had a custom shop. I'll give them a call on Monday.
  18. I was the second .40 limited on the list. Also, iirc, I ordered on Jan 24 I was told that meant that I received one of the preorders that dawson ordered before SHOT show.
  19. Picked my limited .40 up from dawson last night. Very sharp looking gun in person. Exactly what I had expected from STI. I had requested at the time of order that a gunsmith blank trigger be installed and I'd whittle it down to fit later. Dawson didn't feel comfortable fitting a trigger shoe with the new geometry of the trigger components. My question to Dustin is, who would STI recommend for a trigger shoe fitting? I assume pretty much no one has any experience with the new geometry that y'all are using now but I've also seen at least one of your team shooters rocking gunsmith blanks on their gun. If it's just like it always has been, I'll just use my local gunsmith but if Dawson's caution was warranted, I don't wanna mess it up in the process with someone whose hubris outweighs their skill. Thanks in advance.
  20. From Dawson? Oops, yeah forgot to mention from Dawson.
  21. Just got the call for limited .40. It'll be shipping Monday as well.
  22. I'm next in the chute. Excited to get the call...
