  3. chuck d. There is a link here for you to give to your match directors to get your matches nra approved so there wouldn't be any problems shooting 10 rounds during any shooting events idpa, uspsa or any other event . Hope this helps you out Link: htp://competitions.nra.org/documents/pdf/compete/tourn-forms/spec-tourn-app.pdf
  4. I to have a g35 for limited a g34 gen 4 for production for me and my kid and a g19 for me in production, nite stand, and carry gun. It has the least amount of rounds thru it, only about 200 as just got after xmas. But I tell you its my favorite, right size fits great and easy to conceal and shoot
  5. chuck d. shooting in cortland on sunday. were getting buried with snow over here by the lake. this law was passed so quick with no common sense. even the police couldnt carry more then 7 rds and couldnt go into schools until they ammended it the second day. there was no rational thinking on it. it was just someones idea to have a legacy for himself i hope we fight this and win it
  6. ordered mags today . going to order gun thrus thru dawson trojan .40sw crp. have a uspsa match sunday borrowing a fellow shooters 1911 to shoot. this will br first match with a single stack and a gun with a thumb safety. im a glock and revolver shooter so should be interesting. the triggers are nice and smooth, im use to alot heavier.
  7. winter came here yesterday 2 1/2 feet of snow. today another 2ft. plow guy had to come twice today overnite expecting another foot and during day tommorrow about 10 inches. yes i live in the snow belt . good morning america suppose to be here in morining fulton ny. wont be able to get range for awhile. looks like more airsoft training in the basement. as long as i get trigger time its all good
  8. I've narrowed it down sti trojan crp in .40 sw. As i already have reload equipment. Now next question going with tripp mags do i get 10mm or 40sw. as will be competition gun in 10rders. I thought I read some where you load the 40 long and use 10mm mags. Need some help or clairifaction on this. Thanks
  9. as cheaper to shoot. I will have the dies already for them. Just want to get the mags before were not allowed to on April 15. I 'll get the gun after. Sorry for post prblm I might of hit wrong button . Thanks
  10. ray from houston. im from the NEW YORK thanks for the pm. I shot our match clean yesterday with a g19 in production class. i only had 30 rounds thru it before and was my first match in production came in 3rd. I've been shooting for awhile so I know its not always the gun its the man(woman) behind it. Just got done doing airsoft training with the guy that has the trojan fondle somemore. Question now is 9mm 40sw or 45. I already load 40 and starting to load 9mm. What a 1911 to be able to shoot another divison as my limited is gone per say and what ever other laws they try to sneak in. Is there any advantages or disadvantages between cartridges. Leaning more towards 40 or 9mm as cheaper
  11. yes shooting gets addictive so doesn't gun buying.
  12. chuck d im not on facebook . you can pm if want im in fulton shoot at pathfinder if that helps. i know this an idpa thread, but we did have our first uspsa match of the year today. we shot production 10, limited 10, someone even shot open 10, and single stack, revolver . at least we can still shoot we had 32 shooters in am session and 12 in afternoon. ny still lives on. now back to thread content, im reading alot about idpa and considering giving it a try. as it as close to real life practice for self defense. its been a tough week for us.so thanks for letting my voice be heard
  13. well had our uspsa match today and a fellow shooter had a sti trojan in 9mm. so i got to handle and fondle it, boy was it nice. really considering it now. question is go .45 cal or 9mm. diffently cheaper to shoot 9mm. alot of thinking to do. its nice to hear what others have done or gone thru and give there opinions. please keep them coming.
  14. shot first match with g19 today in production. we were able to use 10 rd mags so life wasnt that bad. at least we are still able to shoot. back to the gun, i ususally shoot a g35 in limited and my groups were even better with this g19 . its a shooter was real impressed.
  15. had first uspsa match today this year. boy did the airsoft training help, what an improvement. guys were saying hey your shooting good groups and hitting a's. had no misses with the the glock and 2 with the the revovler , which havent shot in about 6 months. forgot how to hold that.if anyone is on the fence about airsoft it really worked for me. we do real training with them not just plinking. have to take it serious to get anything out of it.
  16. +1 for what chuck d said. he can type better me. as im also a new yorker only an hour from him not down state.
  17. jackson923 sorry didnt get back to you. my limited setup is for a glock 35. i was just referring to adding the extra weight up front for a guide rod and weight at the base pad. it really does help with the recoil, balances alot better and helps with follow up shots. as far as the m&p goes i sold mine switched to glock as parts more available at the time i was building a limited gun. the m&p was a nice shooter really liked it, thought it felt better in hands then the glock.
  18. our club is shooting our first uspsa match tomorrow in ny. as we understand it we can use 10 rds in gun no barney loads. we also might be looking into to start up a idpa group. i never shot a idpa mtach been a uspsa shooter for 15yrs. revolver, limited 10, limited divisons. i also think the will get turned back over to 10rds. as everyone here is in a panick. will post later after match if anyone is interested on how our uspsa match went. i know its not the same but the mag related issue is the same
  19. i picked up 2 g17 airsoft guns for training this winter. 1 to get my 15 yr old ready for uspsa and 1 for me for improvement. wow what a difference. being doing since thanksgiving on sundays what an improvement with my grip. got first real match sat hope to see a big improvement. will post how i did later. couldn't believe how bad my grip was and trigger control was. so far it was worth every penny
  20. thanks guys for the responses. and a big thanks to ktm300 for the pm. sort of new to the forum been reading it for a year. i have very little posts but the info i get here is great. trying to get to 50 posts as will have to sell alot of stuff. really considering the trojan and the ro. we have our first uspsa match of the year tomorrow. its going to be intersting with the new changes we have to deal with. thats why im looking into single stack. thanks guys for listening
  21. twister thats what im thinking. is the range officer made in usa slide and frame? thanks
  22. decisions decisions what to do. looked at spartan trojan and springfield ro. most likley will have to sell ar to fund this as i now live in the most non friendly state. leaning towards springfield but that trojan is nice ready to go
