  1. Once again a awesome time and a lot of laughs. Look forward to it next year. I guess we will have to visit you and Brad over on the Pro Side. Good shooting. Tell Hollywood I said hello.
  2. I have JM Pro with a 22" barrel and have done quite a bit of testing in the last three weeks. I purchased a Full and Mod extended tube from Carlson and tested them with various 7 1/2 loads on a pattern target at 40 yards. I found that most times the factory chokes out performed the extended tubes. My JM shoots patterns approximately 6" high with slugs and the shot pattern as well. Spoke to Benny at the ar15.com match this past weekend and he told me how to bend the barrel to get it to shoot POA. I am going to give it a go when time permits.
  3. Sleep Inn is awesome! Stayed there last year and just reserved our room for this years match as well. Chase - If your out there, wouldn't mind squading up with you guys again
  4. +1 I Bought the Bobro and have never regretted it. I use it on my 18" barreled 3 gun AR and love it. Would not hesitate to purchase another for my next build.
  5. Yes. $150 is what I paid. Chase - We had a blast. We should try to get squaded up together again next year unless you guys are moving to pro
  6. I was fortunate to take the Pro clinic with Benny Hill and Ty Gentry on Friday evening. I learned a great deal of information in a short bit of time. I can only imagine what you could learn in a whole day. I was given the opportunity to purchase a Mark Otto 2 x shell carrier. I have to tell you this is a outstanding product. I used it Saturday morning on AM stage 1 and everyone was amazed how fast I could load with it. The RO's were at the same clinic on Friday as I was and they couldn't believe how fast I picked up on loading with this unit. I practiced with it for about 20 min the night before.
  7. Here is what I did. I purchased the Dawson adjustable rear and the dawson .285 front. I now have POA and POI as I wanted. Plenty of adjustment and life is good. even though the stock front was sloppy in the sight cut, I had to file the dawson front and rear to install them. I am happy with my purchase. If anyone is interested, I purchased them through Speed Shooters Specialties. Items were in stock and I had them within 4 days.
  8. I will try to post a pic of the two shell loader. I bought one from Ty on friday after the clinic on am 1. The thing is awesome.
  9. Not sure if this is the right place for this or not. What are typical engagement distances for steel targets with a shotgun, USPSA etc and what type of ammo. Thanks in advance
  10. For crying out loud. Just get the Krieger already, you know you want to And put a real trigger in that gun ... Oh by the way don't spend all your money before we get to Kentucky. Iknow you will be kicking yourself if you don't have the money to buy any goodies while we are there.
  11. Horseman - A couple questions for you. With the knowledge you have now, if you had to do this again would you have chosen the .285 over the .305 and why. Also with the .305 sight, where about is the rear adjusted. Is it buried at either end of travel up or down or somewhere comfortably in the middle. Last thing, did you choose the fiber optic front or the the plain metal one. Thanks for the input
  12. I have a 9mm Pro that is experiencing the POA / POI issues. I have switched out the FO with the stock front from my M&P 9mm 4.25" gun. Was better but not where I want it. Groups well but still low. Would like to hear which adjustable rear people like and why. Also what height front did you install with it. I have mixed info as to which front height to match with the rear. On Speed Shooters it says to use a .305 on a pro with the Dawson Precision but it does not indicate which to use with the Novak adjustable rear. If you go to Dawson's website it says to use a .285 tall front sight. Also I am having a problem with the front sight drifting in the dovetail on its own. The problem is with the factory FO and the shorter factory sight as well. It appears the sight cut is a bit loose but I don't have time to send it back to S&W as I am shooting the Brownells Pro Am in two weeks. Will loctite cure this issue and if so what type. Thanks Brian
  13. Thanks. The FSS is what I was inquiring about.
  14. Is the Apex Trigger USPSA production legal?? Also can you use aftermarket adjustable sights on a USPSA production gun Thanks, Brian
  15. Thanks for all the replies. Has anyone had any success with factory ammo at all. I realize the benefits to reloading but at this time my sharpening business is busy and my free time is limited and when I do have free time I have been hitting the range. I am registered to shoot the AR15.com / Brownells shoot at Rockcastle in the AM division and I was hoping to find some factory ammo that would be acceptable but that is proving to be a challenge. I was at the range today and had mixed results with factory ammo. Shooting CCI Blaser 115gr at 10 yrds I was consistently getting touching groups. Same ammo at 25 couldn't keep it in a 6" circle. Shot Federal 124gr at 10 yrds with about a 3 inch spread. Federal ammo at 25 yrds was still about a 3 inch spread which I was fairly happy with. I am worried about close range A zone hits with a 3" group at 10 yards. Funny thing is I have to shoot my M&P pro with the Fiber Optic blob on top of the rear sight to get POA/POI at both distances. I have not shot competitively in over 10 yrs and I am starting back into it. Can a USPSA production gun have adjustable rear sights ?? I was thinking about shooting my single stack Rock Island Arms .45 target but I am not sure it is production legal. Any input would be appreciated Bri
  16. Looking for suggestions or recipes for 9mm that people have used with success in their M&P Pro. Also any favorite factory ammo that has brought good accuracy would be helpful. Thanks Brian
  17. Welcome! Do you happen to have an AR with a Knights Triple Tap brake? (Ask me how I know) No - I am supposed to have a flagship AR to shoot supplied by a local manufacture.
  18. Just wanted to say hello. I have been a shooter since 8yrs old. Competed in USPSA, Sporting clays and IBO open class Archery. Registered to shoot the AR15.com 3 Gun Match at Rockcastle.
