Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Grease the bottom of the shell plate and tighten it down mine does not spill powder. Ian
  2. Interesting reading did you guys know that the federal primers use a softer alloy? Did you know that 20+ year old CCI large pistol were slightly over-sized and won't feed? I must have over 20K rounds of 380 to 500S&W with just minor tweaking required on the Hornady LNL. Sorry your having issues but glad you resolved them. Ian
  3. Quick Update I noticed when reloading my 45 ACP the Bullet feeder prefers to feed with the Bullet Feeder setup at the shallower angle. Probably due to heavy Bullet weight in the larger Calibers. When switching to 380 ACP it must be made steeper to feed Bullets with any consistency. The Bullet Feeder has now been tested for every Caliber and over a 10 month period. 1. What would I improve the location of the Pickup tube should not be at 12 OClock but rather at 11 OClock. 2. Slightly shape the Black Plastic inserts cutting them at a slight angle makes the Bullets feed smoother less flip. " Especially in smaller Calibers" Thanks Ian
  4. Lubing the cases makes things work o much easier doesn't matter if you have Carbide or Titanium dies. Ian
  5. I like the Micrometer Powder dispenser. I keep notes on the setting for various powders and calibers and it's just a turn to being spot on. Yes you could by 3 different inserts as Coco Bola suggest. I have seen a small amount of powder spill while changing them. I really enjoy owning the Hornady I find it a pain to change over the case feeder to small calibers however. Ian
  6. Hi All The past few weeks I have moved my reloading equipment from the Garage to a small room inside the house. Making sure of the setup I made 500 rounds of various calibers. The Bullet Feeder my latest reloading toy is a very nice unit but it's rate of feed especially towards the last 20 rounds was a bit slow at around 6 min. Re Reading the instructions I noticed that you could use the Top Two holes to attach the Bullet Feeder. The instructions say this will speed up efficiency remember it just has to keep up with me not beat me. Well now the Bullet Feeder will feed 100 Bullets in approximately 4 Minutes. So if you are outrunning the Feeder consider moving the Feeder attachment to the top Two Holes of the Red Stand. " The Tilt of the unit is less" What else have you come up with anything?? Ian
  7. Thanks I saw Jeffs turnbuckle and liked the idea for the PTX but I prefer the Powderfunnel it has worked great and once it's set you don't need to adjust it with Caliber changes. Didn't know about the Shim mine does loosen a trace but it's never more then that. Ian
  8. Thanks Guys I ended up with Boiled Lin Seed then 2 coats of Poly. Ian
  9. Steve Can you be more specific on this Powder does caster a bit and the linkage is just holding it you have something else? Ian
  10. Whats the best finish for a reloading bench? I typically treat work tables with Boiled Linseed oil but have heard some guys use Tung Oil anyone else have any other finishes? Ian
  11. Forster Co-Ax is one of the finest and most accurate presses currently being produced. It's my Single Stage press of choice for producing the finest Ammo for competition. Ian
  12. It has to do with efficiency the Hornady and RCBS design is not very efficient very obvious below 20 round count. Timing the unit it seems like the rate of production would have the Bullet feeder running non stop hence no need for a cutoff switch. How much faster is production is the real question remember how much faster the case feeder made things well this just cut that in about half once again. Ian
  13. Jeff I wanted to say thanks for designing that mechanism for allowing the flaring to occur without torquing the Powder drop nicely done. When I noticed the PTX setup doing that I ordered a Powder funnel that allows proper flaring for all common calibers. However under my X Mas tree is the new Hornady Bullet Feeder and just to play it safe machined a Turnbuckle of your design. Thanks again Jeff Ian
  14. Jeff's PTX stopper I watched his video a while back and was impressed with his idea. I went to purchase a turnbuckle and machine it on my lathe when the Power Funnel showed up and solved those issues. It looks to me like it will work fine with the Hornady Bullet Feeder die Coco measurements confirm this. There is a fellow posting on AR15 Forum of several Mods to get the last 10 Bullets to feed anyone having issues with this? Ian
