  1. Heya I'm a B Production shooter I tried this for the first time today ice cold first thing at the range. got raw time of 45.79 but i accidently shot the first 3 strings at 7 yds, not 7, 10, 15. my total after points down was 48.39. Next time i run it i'll be sure to get the distances right. I got a hat cam for christmas so shooting the video of this test was its first use. String 9 did not record After watching the footage i think that i may have to knock down the sand on my grip tape some, it looks like im struggling to shift the gun in my hand for the reloads. Though some of the loads later in the test did look better. ether way i can gain some time on those for sure. -Craig http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=csp02301&search_filter=0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-bK7PgvyHQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zehMAt8KrrY

CZ75 SP01 Shadow Target, just finished installing the Cajun Gunworks ultra light kit. DA 4lb 6oz, SA 2lb 2oz. Now we will have to see if it will ignite Federals 100%
  4. 3.5gr N320 gave 127pf at 1.132 oal (set short for CZ) on the 135gr Bayou Bullet
  5. thanks for checking, i was worried that the diameter of the post that passes thru was a tad smaller and would have some play.
  6. oh, i was asking about the slide stop not safeties. I figure i'll end up buying the *gulp* $90 safeties.
  7. anyone tried this, would love to know if the lengths and engagements are close enough. i get major digging into the base of my support hand thumb, i know the reg 75 stop will work but ide rather go smaller if im going to replace. The rami should help my idpa weight more also. someone out there must have both guns even if they have tried it yet
  8. Well this picture should help give a perspective on the profile and the ogive on the bullets. Note the black lines placed as best possible where the break from parallel to the case begins. 125 at left thru 160 at right
  9. for anyone who’s interested some info from my testing, course all guns will be a bit different but this can at least give guys an idea roughly what to expect if they use a cz sp01 shadow.-- 125gr touched rifling at 1.170, great profile for the cz chamber, mag will limit those loads not the head space. I set my oal to 1.145-- 135gr touched at 1.132 (the least forgiving of all the bullets) i found my new dies are seating way more consistently than the lee's i used to use so..i felt ok using an oal of 1.125-- 147gr touched at1.147 i set my oal to 1.135, my mags did not like this profile past that length-- 160gr pleasant surprise to find it touched at 1.160 they fed well out of the mags so i was ok settling on 1.152 oal-- due to time constraints I did not test every powder I had, just 5 of them. 125gr loads 3.7 n320, 4 shots rested gave unspectacular grouping, my chosen charge proved off got 970 av for 121 pf, recoil was very light but I would expect it would still be a good handling load at 130 pf. Smoke was almost nonexistent. 4.3gr of w231 got me to 133pf of all the powders this one gave the most recoil and poorest feel. I was quickly able to figure out this would not be the powder I would settle on for my load. 3.9gr solo100, noticeably more smoke than the n320 but nothing like a reg lead bullet, this got me 128 pf with a nice feel, this load was very similar to my clays load 3.4gr clays gave decent accuracy, smoke and recoil pulse comparable to the solo, (n320 w/more smoke) this wrapped up my 125 testing this bullet tip ended up being tied with the 135g for my least favorite of the bunch. I found much better accuracy and feel elsewhere... 135gr loads 3.5gr N320 gave 127pf, not a bad load but like all the other n320 smoke was MIA, second best accuracy to Titegroup for this bullet weight. 3.2gr titegroup 130pf, more smoke than all the other powders tested, very good accuracy, the recoil pulse on all the 135gr loads was similar did not detect enough variation to comment on 3.2gr clays, 129pf, this powder and the solo1000 seemed very similar to me in almost all the loads I tested only dif being that it seems you need a bit more solo than clays to do the same thing 147gr loads this is the bullet I was the most optimistic about, FP expected to give better accuracy and the 147g has proven to have very little push and no snap in my heavy ass CZ. 3.2gr titegroup, 137 pf 3.5gr w231, 132 pf 3.4gr solo1000 128 pf 3.3gr n320 128 pf the n320 and titegroup gave the best accuracy, and it was noticeably better than the lighter bullets. Again smoke on the n320 was not an issue and these loads were starting to feel real sweet in the recoil department. Fast powder/heavy bullet been no secret for awhile now right when dropping the slide on the 147 I could feel the ever so slight hesitation chambering that FP bullet. Worked every time but makes me wonder if a feed issue could occur when the gun is very dirty with my 11lb spring. 160gr loads 2.9gr solo100, 123 pf oops 3.3gr w231, 136 pf 3.0gr n320 131 pf let me say here that the accuracy with the n320 under the 160gr bullet was phenomenal. Both other powders also shot this bullet to accuracy that was just better then the 147 and way better than the other 2 weights. The front sight barely seemed to clear the notch on the solo and n320 loads. Boy was I psyched to see that I could load this tip long, 160 is a beast and I was fearful of overpressure...that never came. The performance of the N320 did distinguish its self from the others, enough for the cost?...for me yes, powders just not expensive period. Choosing n320 over a domestic powder adds 3% to the loaded ammo cost by my estimations. My gun liked the 160s. There is no doubt in my mind that is the best choice for me. Although the 147s would also make a fine load. I have settled on the 160gr Bayou over 3.0g of VV n320 for 817 fps 131pf this load will go into mass production over the winter. I tested on Saturday and then went home and loaded 200 more of that load. Sunday I shot them in an IDPA classifier got a 93.87 to make Master class next lets see if they can take me into “A” production.
  10. Cool to see older posts. Now MA in all those divisions above. I've been able to run MA classifiers on all as well. So.... I now have a 625 and will work on ESR Master (currently EX). Only see doing this as a classifier... I've never seen enough EX in ESR to get a bump anywhere around here! congrats bro, i watched him nail his master classifier today, Lugnut is now a 5 gun Master!
  11. For a guy with an SP01 Shadow who wants to shoot both games grips are a real problem. What wanted is a grip that i was happy enough with that I would make weight. Plastic and Marchals are just bout the only options light enough. I came up with a nice setup that fills my hands and is about as slip free as it gets. 20 dollar plastic grips, file and home depot grip tape. the pictures tell the story. less uniform tape and it be down to the starting .6z weight.
  12. I am all set for some testing this weekend. I have the full array of bullets that im interested in (he has 115, 105 too) The constants: I know i want to be .013 from the rifleing i have established this for the gun already and dont feel too safe tinkering with it. I know all the loads will be Federal primers because thats the only one my gun lights 100% I know i want to be at 132 pf if a bullet looks like it needs to be pushed faster to stablize then its prolly not the bullet i should be using. Accuracy, recoil/feel and reliability, I will have some opinions soon.
  13. my new production plan, thought about it a bit with the input of the other folks i like the idea of not traversing the top of the 'T' and this plan gives me a 1 mag safty net if i malfunction or drop one. and only the "semi static" reload
  14. is this how you intended the stage to be layed out? black being wall thats how i based my plan
  15. ive been thinking about getting those, kinda expensive tho. does it seem like the texture will hold up awhile? also does it seem that they are based on the thin AL grips or the regular?
  16. out of those i would second vote tring the Bullseye or titegroup (start low) but my favorite lead bullet powder is solo1000.
  17. if i didnt have to do a hard lean i would engage them out to 15-18yd buuut...i shoot production so that would call for a static reload so no way! i would reload 4 times on that stage taking all the shots quite fast with sloppy sight pictures. thats alot of sots btw isnt 32 the cap?
  18. how about a slip on rubber sleeve with something added under it in the right places, maybe insteed of perminant build up with a material a glued spacer of some sort (shaped kydex?) that would help the pistol retain value. try a brand other than the hogue. something with less material and no exagerated finger grooves
  19. Does anyone here have one of those pistols? I would love to see a top down pic of the gun on a piece of paper the same size as the box's internal dimensions. I bet that with a bit of creativity it could fit the box. We are allowed to "enhance" the pistol after all
  20. you will not be disapointed, i think that model comes with the 13# main and 11# recoil, exactly what you want.
  21. thanks guys, im going to start with trying the 147s with solo and N320, i have Unique but havent used it in awhile maybe ill break it out for a few test rounds
  22. 30 bucks and only gonea week sounds like a good deal to me, that should buy you a little extra room, not too much with the mags being so tight too. may i ask who is doing the work?
  23. what powder do you like with those 147s?
  24. i broke down and bough the 2 dollar tubes today also. bought 6 and ill grab cotter pins at the hardware store. i will post a pic of the working rig on a LNL when im all set
  25. has anyone run the full line of 9mm offerings from Donnie thru test? I'm most interesting in knowing which bullet has the most friendly profile for the short CZ chamber. whatever load i settle on for uspsa I'm sure it will be with a fast powder and would like to keep it as long and safe as possible. the 147 flat points look like they start tapering way back, could be promising? wanted to start this here rather than the reloading section to make sure i get real CZ guy responses.
