  1. Come on guys, how am I going to continue to best him when you all keep giving him good advice??? I was planning the COF's for the next match to include a whole lot of poppers at 30-40 yds. with birdshot just for that cylinder bore gun of his!!! Good call on the SBE, I too started with mine and it runs with everything from light skeet loads to full-house 3.5" loads. I just didn't want to put all the wear and tear on my regular hunting SG so I bought an M1 and now the SBE is there for backup. As far as sights go, I'm still running the FO but when slugs are required I have to really make sure I use a good check weld everytime. It seems to work well enough out to 100 but that's another thing I really like about the Benneli's is the ability to semi-custom fit the gun with the included stock shim kit.
  2. I've had two of them, bought the second one because I couldn't believe how bad the first one was. It turned out to be just as bad or worse. Both gone now!
  3. I've been using one since March, >1500 rounds combined practice and in matches. The extra money it cost over the tac 30 and others has been well worth it to me. Great glass, fast reticule and tough enough to take being "placed" in drop barrels at high speed.
  4. Great site that is new shooter friendly! Thanks to all for the replies and the valuable info for comparisons.
  5. Didn't want to hyjack the LMOS thread so, anyone made any comparisons between the two or similar BCG for competition AR's? If not, could you make up for the weight difference between the two by different settings on the gas block and get like results?
  6. From years of clays and hunting, I too focus on the target for close in and movers. For the longer shots I sight down the rib and focus the front bead. Something that hasn't been brought up yet is that I know that my SG fits me. To determine fit a person needs to assume your comfortable/repeatable firing position, look at a stationary target, close your eyes, shoulder the gun then open your eyes. If the gun is on target it is properly fit to you. If not, the handy set of stock shims that came with that Benelli can be used to help adjust for the proper drop and cant of the stock to put you on target. YMMV Mike
  7. To the OP or others with this scope. How's the performance been so far? I posted a general question in another topic about scopes in this price range but would like some specific input from owners of this model. Mike
  8. I'm new to this forum and only participated in 6 3gun matches last season and got hooked. I used a carbine with an aimpoint and did OK out to 200 but this years matches will be out to 400. I have nearly completed the assembly of a dedicated rifle for 3gun and have reached the point that I need to decide on some glass. I've reviewed the numerous optic threads here and on other sites and decided to post my question here. I'd like to get some of your thoughts/experiences/opinions on narrowing my list to one or two choices with my price ceiling of $500.00 for the scope, if such an animal exists. The list I've considered includes those made by Vortex, Burris, Nikon & Leatherwood. Thanks for your help, Mike
