  1. just went through this with nationals.

Bought a new ProChrono Digital. Came with about 172 pf for my loads. Went to nationals, the CED M2 gave me 169.5

So while there is a difference... unless your loads are at PF.... I would not be tooo concerned.

Just dont do what I did at Area 8... went by the book and not have an exact recent chrono and the powder was slightly inverse sensitive. (WSF) went minor. 162.5

  2. How far did you go to get to the match?

First nationals match, the l10/open/revo one, I believe 20 shooters total got the DQ. In particular one stage, where if you leave the port too hot, you broke the 180.

As an RO, even though I know I am just the bearer of bad news, the shooter DQ'ed himself, still tough.

I know at Area 8, some people were reallly close, so after they shot, pulled them aside to let them know, and most are greatful as they don't realize it. I only had one shooter throw a tantrum, but the moron should not of popped the gun out of the holster before the "Make Ready" command, and especially not while facing uprange. :surprise:

  3. Start shooting matches and you will learn what your preference is.

Ask around on local NY forums for what the legal capacities are there. I am from NJ, and we don't have a clue.

Find a local match, go watch, ask questions.

A glock 34/35 or whatever the 40 cal version is will be the most versatile i believe, however if you like limited, you might like a 1911/2011, for production a glock. etc...

Open guns are a different animal all together.

  4. So I now have and totally love the EAA Elite Limited. I have been toying with the idea of an open gun, either a CZ Czechmate which I loved at the shot show or the EAA Gold Team. Considering I already have the limited, can i just get the slide? or should i just get a second complete gun?

Also, assuming the 9mm Gold team will hold up to 9 major loads?

  5. Talk to Henning he can give you some advice on the gun.

NO..u dont need to take the alex mount to take the topend off

to clean it.The Pewter(grey) grip blends nice with the finish of the gun.

Upgrades would be Trigger kit, Guiderod, magwell, recoilspring, pinkits, mag basepads.

Gun have about 2.5lbs out of the box, kind of spongy and dont break crisp. it wears out

preety fast too. HIGHLY recommended..dont do upgrades on the gun until you reach about 3000rds.

check the barrel lugs to see if theres metal peening off! if it does send it back to have them repair.

EAA will not repair any gun that has been modified..

    can you elaborate on this?

  6. a few random notes on the match:

    1. the RO package at this match was awesome...every single RO walked away with at least one gift/prize (and since most were also shooters, most got more than one). plus free hotel room, some free food and drinks, and a match admin staff that really looked out for us.

    2. no rain. yeah, they got some during set-up, but no rain on any of the shooting days.

    3. the crazy jack burgers were pretty darned good.

    4. mike gottlieb...thanks for sponsoring a really nice RO banquet catered by famous dave's.

    5. i think we finished on time or ahead of schedule every day.

    6. i really liked the stages.

    7. i worked on stage 5 and watched every shooter on fri/sat/sun...and every single one of them had their finger off the trigger as they moved towards the bridge after shooting the steel (including the guy the fell in the above video...falling sucks, but getting DQ'ed along with it would have been a lot worse).

    8. i didn't count, but it seemed like at least 50 people helped with tear down...

    9. jeff salzberg (match director), eric paradisi (sponsor coordinator), rob burkindine (stats), lew walker (stage designer/builder), george jones (range master) and harry foltz (area 8 director)...thanks to all of you guys for organizing a great match.
