Wow, did not know about WSF being that sensitive. It is the powder of choice for me, 9mm, 40, 45, 45 gap. love the soft shooting, fairly clean powder. chrono is on the way.

+20 on yoga. Just this weekend I amazed everyone and myself my one leg balance to lean around a wall and hit 2 targets. woot woot.
I started with martial arts (shindo ryu kickboxing), competed locally, and was about to start nationally however we moved to a different part of the state. Then in the past few years started swimming and yoga. The balance I learned from martial arts, years ago, was taken to the next level in yoga. most importantly, it is very low impact on joints.
About 2 years ago I tried Tae Kwon Do... and while it was almost tooo easy when compared to MMA/Street fighting styles like kickboxing/Krav/Thai (olympic flying/kicking vs street fighting), it was just tooooooooo hard on the knees. Especially since it was 90% kicking, 10% punching. Whereas Shindo Ryu Kickboxing was about 70/30 arms/legs. Since I could not find one locally, went back to yoga.
If you want something else to totally kick your butt.... try pilates.

I loved P90X last time I did it, ie when it first came out a few years ago. Was in fantastic shape and it kicked my ass. Was in pretty good shape to begin with. It actually got me to start taking yoga classes.
The toughest part for me though, and is now since I am pondering doing it again, is the overall high impact on knees. Even though I am only 28, past 5 years knees have been bothering me, I guess the hockey and years of martial arts is catching up. lol.
Will be going to Docs tomorrow to get knee xrays to figure it all out. But in any case... P90X is great for what it is. Just have to be committed to it.
I got through day 60 or so... I just like going to the gym that much more...

It is a bit pain in the butt to take the mags apart without the baseplate... will admit that.

even being 28, I hate emagazines. Give me a hard cover. Just like books. I want to read it, flip it, write in it, pass it to others. If it is digital, I would be forced to print it numerous times anyway.
Yeah!
.....and you can't take it to the Throne Room!
I didnt want to say it... want to keep it pg-13. =P

I am all for electronic age... but....

I say give folks an option to opt out of print, and opt in to digital, but dont get rid of paper.

Humn, will have to play more with them then. Will try one of the new MG 40 and 10mm mags. The stock mag that came with gun... no issues whatsoever. lol. Why cant they all work like that?

Is the spring plate really necessary though?

Started shooting Single Stack Minor with my Smith Wesson 1911 Pro Series. Loved the gun, everything was fun. Finding mags to seat on 10 rounds was quite tough to the point of driving me nuts. Bought a Sig P226 USPSA edition around the same time, shot 2 matches, then decided I really love the feel of a 1911 and the Sig with the decocker on the side, was a pain in the thumb.
At that point, was eyeing up a nice limited gun, so started shooting single stack minor and Limited 10 (in NJ, 15 round mag limits). Ended up getting an EAA Tanfoglio Elite Limited in 40 cal, and have been shooting that past few months.

Just need to vent. Had a perfectly solid match only dropping 6 charlies before it... local match had a long 50 round stage for fun. I am shooting L10 so 10 rounds in mags. I reload out to 1.170. 5th mag... nosedive or whatnot 1 round in. fumbled with it like 5 seconds, and could not switch out to another mag as I needed all 6 unless I wanted to go retrieve mags.
These are the stock 40 caliber mags with spacer in front, with H550 basepads and stock springs.
So.... do I go new MecGar 40 caliber mags, or 10mm mags?

CZ75 based gun for production? CZ TS for Limited/L10
But I like the Sigs. =P
-
where did you find the new 40 caliber mags? Pics?
thanks!

Limited mags require the aftermarket basepads.

hate to bring back a thread from the dead... but was looking at high powers. $400 is a steal for a real high power. Anything under $600 is a good deal for high powers. Up to 4 now.

welcome!
-
looks fun, any video of anyone shooting it?
-
Just wondering, are there 22LR conversions for the Elite Limited? I know there are a few for the regular CZ's... but did not look too deeply into the wide frame.

nice job. enjoyed reading this.

Will be there. L10

Was just wondering about the hotel myself. I typically dont mind spending a bit more to get a better nights sleep, and things to do. For Shot Show stayed at the Wynn/Encore, and Ventian/Pallazo before. Right now Venetian is doing $129 a night rooms, and I got the same from Wynn. I am sure if you are a degenerate gambler, you can get it comped, or very cheap rate. Only issue, those promo rates are only bookable through Sept 15, right before nationals.
Been to vegas, but have not shot at the range there... does the hotel really make a difference in terms of drive time? If not, might as well wait and get the best deal doing the "Name your price" through priceline. Got some great deals that way before.

Very interesting stage.... what about replacing the plate rack with a star? =)
-
Chalee, are you using the 10mm mags to load 40 long? or actually shooting 10mm?
I have the limited in 40 cal, I reload and got the 40 caliber mags with the spacer. Shooting Lim 10. Have hennings basepads.

8.6.2.1 - When approved by the Range Officer, competitors at Level 1 matches may, without penalty, receive whatever coaching or assistance they request.
There it is, black and white.
I am a RO as of the October 2010 class, and not much longer involved in USPSA.
I recall my first match, I had plenty of coaching, both from the stage breakdown, but most of all, safety, during the make ready process. I appreciated the RO telling me exactly what to do, as I am sure we have all seen, new shooters who keep quite, just look completely lost their first time up. It is one thing if you give assistance and the person is telling you they dont need it, or want it. But I have not seen one new shooter yet that did not want help, or appreciated an RO or two looking over their shoulder to take the nervousness and jitters away from their first stage.
I have since probably introduced about 15 to 20 new USPSA shooters, and because of how easy it was to shoot with friends, most of them are now uspsa regulars.
As for the first example, here is one from this months local match... RO was giving a relatively new shooter a few words of wisdom when he was on the line. One of those phrases was "Make Ready", to which the competitor drew to make ready.
