  1. Anything I can do to radius those points or trim back to get past this match, it is a fundraiser for a friend and fellow shooter to help sshis family cope with costs for cancer treatments, otherwise I would skip it. Several folks have ground them down or completely off. I think I would smooth them without removing too much material and then send it off to be welded, if that is what you want to do.
  2. spotting scope would work better.... yep. But anything would be better than nothing.
  3. I was 98% sure the next post would be "That's what she said!", not something informative.
  4. It would be ideal to have a set of binoculars at the long range stage, and a set person to call hits. Whether that is the RO or another person. Sometimes we have them, and sometimes we do not. Sometimes we call hits by committee and that can be problematic. I scored several shooters on that stage, and the RO did the right thing. He called hits as best he could and stood by his calls.
  5. I have a couple inchs on Doug. My thighs were screaming by the end of that stage from the wide sumo squat I need to see/shoot through the portal. If I was a better shot with a pistol, it would not matter. If I could shoot over the wall I would, but Josh told me walls extend upward forever.
  6. No, that is not me in the picture. I'm too tall to be a storm trooper.

  7. This is evolving and will get better every match. I missed each of the 500 yrd targets. As much as I did not like the 60 second penalty, it was better than the "mikes" I had on the steel pistol stage. Doug, can I get you support on the Vertically Extended Portal Initiative? Josh, want to extend them upward, not move them up.
  8. Well Said! Agree 100%. I try to get there early to help set up and I stay to help tear down, but that is only a small contribution. The Carruth's, Trey (spelling) and Jeremy make the matches. Thank you.
  9. Me too. I am not going to win anything anytime soon, except maybe largest shoe size at the range. But I can not turn my mind off and stop shooting. I keep shooting at the 500 yrd targets, because this is the only time I really get a chance to shoot out that far, and sooner or later I am going to hit the damn thing.
  10. He is going to weld the lifter, put on the larger bolt release button and the open up the loading area. I am going to add a +1 extension and nordic charging handle. I trust myself to do those mods, and those mods only. Plus I know it will look a hell of a lot better if he grinds on it rather than me.
  11. CDNN just quoted 917 shipped for the MK1 Scottsdale Gun club was the same I ordered mine from Jeff Cockrum http://www.c-rums.com/ I live in Texas and wanted to buy from CDNN back when it was $845. Shipping was free, but tax was included. I knew I wanted C-Rums to do some work anyway, so I called and his pricing was in line with CDNN + the tax I would have paid as a Texas Resident. Since Jeff's pricing was similar, bought through him and having some work done before it is shipped out. Saves me some shipping back and forth and time without the gun is on the front end, not after I buy it. Jeff has been a pleasure to deal with, and I can not wait to get it in hand.
  12. Check here http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=116328 Thanks!! I think I'll wait until they make a shorter stock... I am waiting for a longer one.
  13. I ordered 4 straight from CCW a few weeks ago. http://www.demooner.com/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=15&strPageHistory=cat
  14. Used my TAC 30 yesterday at BOTW for the first time as well. The 100 yd targets were right on. Hit the 240s without too many problems, and was very close several times on the 480s. I could here the guys behind me. "Close, Close. How did he not hit that." Need to practice more.
  15. I just ordered an SLP from C-Rums. Gonna have him do a little work before he sends it my way. Hoping to have it in time for next month's local match.
  16. I have mine in an extended LaRue, but I think the regular one would be fine.
  17. Thought it might be an LEO thing. I am a civilian. Guess I will just have to pick up a 3.5 lb connector.
  18. Do all Glock 34's come with the 3.5lb connector? I purchased mine through GT Dist through GSSF and the box says 5.5 lb. Is that because it is an LEO pistol? Thanks in advance. Alden
  19. Glad you found an OD one. I did a similar thing with the GSSF through GT Distributors, but they only had black.
  20. After every 2-3 trips to the range I will clean them. I can not get #9 in a spray bottle. I think I would wear it as calogne.
  21. I think some folks use 20g, but most use 12g. For smaller local matches you would could probably use whatever you want. Just check with the RO.
  22. I like my 500, great home defense gun and have been using it for matches till I can upgrade. The SAW belongs in "Left 4 Dead 3".
  23. That top shotgun looks like an over under with a rail at the front for home defense! That's what it looks like to me anyway...... Good guess. Thinking I would rather have one of these, but that's just me.
  24. Just returned from SHOT where I played with the new Keltec shotgun too, and I noticed the exact same thing! The trigger would not reset!! You had to be completely off the trigger when cycling the action. Wow, I really do hope they iron that out before production. Another concern with the weapon is that we all know how important loading is to running a shotgun. The mag tubes are buried way up high in a chasm in the rear receiver. You'd have to be a veteran proctologist to load this thing quickly. Shoot 14, then discard and transition... Must say it was a big hit, lots of traffic in the Keltec booth. Also hoping they will fix the trigger issue. Thinking from a home defense situation, this could be ideal. 99% of the time you are not going to have extra ammo on you in a home defense situation other than what is on the gun. This gives you 14 shots at the bad guy, most of the time you should not need more than that. Find a way to throw a side saddle on it and you have even more ammo. Plus it is short and easy to manuver. imho.
