  1. I'm a limited shooter and have been using the gripmaster. However, after a match my wrists are sore. I'm guessing there are some additional exercises that would help the wrist, but didn't see them in this thread. Thanks, Rick
  2. Does everyone know that there is an I Phone app from SUREFIRE. It was free when I got it, don't know if it's still free but it works really well and has a par timer. Beats the heck out of spending $120 on a timer if you're just getting started.
  3. Sounds like another great 3 gun match. Since it conflicts with another great IPSC match I have to alternate matches. I had a great time in October and hope to shoot in December. Thanks to Sheldon and all the guys who put it together.
  4. Thanks Joe4d. That makes good sense. Being new to the sport and spending $2000 on a pistol, I am trying to keep from screwing it up. Rick
  5. I'm planning on showing up, but I have to fill out the application first! I think Limited - STI Edge, AR-15 with Eotech, Remington 1100 w/o speedloaders.
  6. Are these the same rules that are regularly referred to as the "IMGA" rules? Thanks, Rick
  7. Can someone provide a good link to the current IMGA rules? I have seen several different versions, but think there are some recent rule changes. Thanks, Rick
  8. I forgot to add that it states a "STI bull barrel, Ramped, Fully supported, Fixed". The slide is also cut out differently. I would add the phot, but don't have the equipment available to scan right now.
  9. I have an STI catalog they handed out in July of 2010 that has an FB7 in it. It looks like a 2011 and it comes in 7mm and 9x19. However, I haven't seen it on their website.
  10. Wolfe always includes an extra firing pin spring with each recoil spring. Does this mean you should replace the firing pin spring every time you replace the recoil spring? I have to believe all the firing pin springs have the same rate?
  11. As a shooter new to USPSA and Limited Division, I found this thread extremely helpful. Mostly that the "high" grip feels uncomfortable and unnatural at first, but is necessary to control flip. I kept trying to get it to feel comfortable while keeping my arms bent and level. I can tell you that has been nearly impossible. I was glad to read the arms are not going to be mirrors of each other, and that it will feel unnatural at first. I feel much better about my grip and that I am moving in the right direction Thank you, Austin Rick
  12. It's not the caffeine in the energy drinks. Mountain Dew has more caffeine than coffee or any of the energy drinks. They have B vitamins, Taurine, and guanine among other things for the stimulating effect. The B vitamins take the edge off and keep you from getting jittery. The diet versions also have less of an edge because no sugar rush. Red Bull and 5 Hr Energy both create a pretty smooth consistent effect.
  13. So I've always shot a shotgun with both eyes open, but never a sighted rifle or pistol. As I read this discussion it looks like everyone is shooting with both eyes open and training their dominant eye on the sights and the other on the target(s). Since I didn't know this and it appears pretty basic, would someone like to recommend a good first video or book for practical shooting? Thanks
