  1. When I bought my SA Pro Model, which was Sept 2001, it came with six Metalform mags. Thinking that it was suppossed to be the Wilson mag I called Deb and she informed me that they switched to the Metalform mag that was a special configuration tuned for reliability to help eliminate some problems the FBI was having the gun. Asked if I could buy some more from SA she said no, that they were not selling that mag then. So I called Metalform and they had just started selling them themselves and they were the ones that said it used an 11 pound Wolff spring. All I know is that in over 2 years and well over 10,000 rounds in those six mags and six other Metalform mags with a rounded follower I have had no problems in several different 1911's.
  2. Ok, just something else I need to work on?!?!?
  3. Thanks for the info, sounds like everyone had fun. As far as HQ putting the info on the website, it always seems to take forever. I just shot the Indiana State & Regional and Midwest Regional and nothing on the website yet.
  4. I have very good luck with Metalforms 7 round mags with the 11 pound Wolff springs (the ones the SA uses in the FBI gun). I have used Wilson mags also with good results, but went with the Metalforms and havent't had any problems.
  5. I was in Joey squad and yes it was a sight to see..... Many would have said to hell with it and called it day, but not Joey he uh...really "hung" in there ?!?!
  6. Don't let Joey fool you, he did find yesterday, even with his, uh small problem
  7. The Indiana Regional IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) match was held on Saturday 13th, 2003 at Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club, just north of Lafayette, IN. There were 9 stages for the 64 shooters to go through requiring no less than 133 rounds to complete. The stages were as fun as there were challenging, and really made the shooters work through moving, reloads, and using cover. Almost all targets were covered in some type of t-shirt to add to the fun. Many of the stages had more than 1 shooting position that required a lot of moving while engaging targets. Take for example stage 1 “Abduction” were you are an employee of the US embassy in a hostile county. You are carrying your child through the parking lot toward your car when an abduction attempt occurs, now you are in a fight for you and your child’s life. You started at P1 holding a baby doll in your weak arm, cradled. On the start signal you were required to draw your firearm with strong hand only and engage T1-T3 in Tactical Priority ( 1, 1, 2, 1,l) while moving to cover behind the prop vehicle were you must lay the baby down behind cover. Throwing the baby doll would result in a procedural. Behind P2 while slicing the pie you were required to engage T4, Steel 1, & T5, which was at 18 yards out. Then move to the back of the prop vehicle at P3 and engage T6, T7, and T8 while slicing the pie and not shooting the No-shoot. All targets required two shots each and 1 on steel. Reload as needed, and it was needed!! The guys at WVRPC also came up with a really nice shoot house that came with a built in “Low Light Effect”. On this stage, number 7, you began as if on your front porch and hear screams inside where bad guys have taken your wife and child hostage. On the start signal from P1 your drew your firearm and opened a door facing a target to the left which you engaged with two rounds and then using the door frame as cover engaged the target to your right. You then moved to P2 and slicing the pie you engaged T3 and T4. After that you moved to P3 the window and using cover and slicing the pie you engaged T5, T6, & T7. In front of T6 were two no shots and T7 was hiding behind hard cover almost requiring just headshots. All this while firing from a darkened shoot house with the only light coming in from the window. The other 7 stages were just as fast, exciting and challenging as these. Some required more shooting while moving, or a start position while lying down. There was one that the BG’s had on body armor so you had to do failure drills on these three with two to the body and 1 to the head while slicing the pie out to 8 yards. And of course there were swingers on some stages. On stage 3, “The ATM Heist“, there were two of these that swung back and forth between no-shoots! The weather was great, the shooting was fun, and the staff was great. My hats of to these guys and girls that donated their time to help set up and run a very nice match. They did a very nice job of keeping everything moving right along. This was the first big IDPA match that these guys have put on and they did a great job. Before the awards were handed out there was a random chance drawing for the generous donations given to the match. 9. If I walked into a gun shop to do the trade, $200-300 cash out of pocket. Sell one myself to buy the other, $150-200. I do not believe the price of the G34/35 would drop if the USPSA changed rules. The gun is still IDPA legal and very popular there in both SSP and ESP.
  10. Update: STI, Slip2000,Corbon,&Hornady have all donated items for the prize table now too.
  11. I have classified in all divisions: SSP - Sharpshooter - Beretta Elite 2 CDP - Sharpshooter - Nowlin ESP - Sharpshooter - Nowlin on STI frame in .40 SSR - Marksman - S&W 625 mt gun For over the last year I have only shot CDP with a Nowlin.

  13. I am wanting to really start getting into reloading for .45acp. I have tried a couple of different powders, Titegroup, Universal Clays, 231 and so far have really liked Clays (straight) I wanted to get some info on loading 200gr LSWC (from Magnus) using a winchester primer and Clays. I will be using this for IDPA and need to make 165 pf. Would like to be in the safe 170-175pf range any suggestions?
  14. I have always shot what I carried. I have classified as a sharpshooter in Stock Service Pistol using a Beretta Elite 2 that was stock. A Nowlin in CDP as a sharpshooter, another Nowlin in .40 on a STI frame in ESP as a sharpshooter and a stock 625 Mt Gun in stock service revolver as a marksman. I have used a Nowlin Crusader to shoot the 2001 S&W WinterNationals, 2001 Spring Nationals and the 2001 Nationals. I finished 4th at S&W, 2nd in the Spring and 15th in the Nat's all in CDP Sharpshooter using 230gr ball S&B ammo from a Wilson Adjustable paddle holster. In the Nationals I used a Triton 165gr frangible flat point round that ran close to 1100fps. Because of job changes and some moving around last year I did not shoot any big matches just some local ones using a Colt Special Combat and S&B ammo. I have since sold my Nowlin Crusader and had them build me one to my exact likings, not one from the catalog. I am in the process of getting ready to shoot the Indiana Regional Match and the Indiana State match. I have since got rid of the Wilson holster and now have a Burns/Alessi ACP that I use for carry and matches. But I think I might get an Uncle Mikes belt Kydex holster to try out too.
