  1. Currently. We just got agreement to do this, so it's planned for sometime in next few weeks. That's great, hope to see it soon.
  2. As per our last communications, I did exactly that. The locals are spoiled by the other club having 9 iPads, but my crew knows we spent less on four NST's than the cost of one more iPad and the fact that you can see them here in the Arizona sun speaks volumes.
  3. I was asking about the whole shebang, but that is helpful to know. I have found a gang of step by steps and used one from our Havasu club to get this going, but each one seems to have differences based on that persons personal preferences, ie, iPads= good, Nooks=bad, etc. Is there something available as an end all, help all? Thanks
  4. Nothing new to you, big guy, this is the first time for us without paper and all my guys are convinced electronic gadgets are the "debil", so I get to hear about every little mistake. You've always been a ton of help and I appreciate your input and look forward to much more. Thank you.
  5. Is there a process somewhere to do the uploads to USPSA without EzWinscore? I did the classification update and had changes for re-entry, do I need to do the update every time I change something? Thanks
  6. So I finally got the iPad and Nook NST's in use this weekend, thought everything went smooth enough, a little trouble getting scores to EzWinscore, but I managed. Go to the Area 2 site for results and...EVERYONE is unclassified! Doesn't show that on the iPad or the lap top, so, what's the deal? Did I miss something in the step by step? Does anyone have a step by step? Let me know if anyone has an idea. Thanks
  7. +infinity to what he said^^! Laziness is no excuse to forget the basic rules. I brought this up at my local club and got the "It is what it is" attitude. Brought my 3gun shotgun the next time and had the same people crying they couldn't see my bolt, to which I replied "It is what it is", found a new place to shoot clays.
  8. I like the braided line for the "V", the industrial look works.
  9. Good to know, sees how I just went and got an iPAD to run my NOOK NST's. Is there a preferred platform or just personal preference?
  10. Welcome back, may your shots be on target and all your primers go BOOM!
  11. I just set up an iPAD two weeks ago, do I need to update now and where is a Steel scoring area in PractiScore? I have been reading and trying to get set up for a while now and am hoping to run our first digital scoring match next month. I also run a Steel Challenge match and was wondering if there was a way to score it in PractiScore. Let me know. Thanks
  12. Next one I ship, I'm going to try USPS and use this form. The guy at the counter told me in no uncertain terms that you cannot send a handgun USPS, even though I explained I had looked it up on line. The info I supplied for UPS was from the hub manager here local. Thanks for the information.
  13. I was actually on the phone with UPS when I read this and was wishing he could see it. The new pricing is between 65.00 and 80.00 and it has to go overnight...PERIOD. According to UPS associate, there is no way anyone is sending handguns out UPS ground. What say ye? That is what he knows to be true. I know for certain that is not the case for bigger accounts that use UPS. We have 2 major distributors who send us pistols 2 Day on ALL shipments, and one manufacturer that sometimes uses ground. Heck, we pay a lot less than that and we only pay 4-5K per month in shipping with the other shipper. UPS was not as competitive on the price for us, as they are more a ground network (that's what the regional rep told us.) Thanks for your input, I guess 65.00 to 80.00 it is. Still confused as to how the gun shop costs me less.

  15. Problem is: since FedEx and UPS company rules expressly forbid shipping a handgun any way other than the very expensive options (they told me I would have to overnight it), you risk losing everything if one of them "handshakes" a deal for you to ship it ground. If the gun is lost or stolen, you can not collect on the value of it.I have shipped handguns through three different gun shops locally for the last twenty years and the most expensive was 50.00. I can't get a quote for less than 100.00 from the big two shippers. I wouldn't think that every local gun shop would ship guns illegally but, you never know. I have been to gun shops where they charge you paperwork fees and shipping fees, but not locally. The gun shops are using USPS. I use them too because even though they charge a handling fee, it's still cheaper than either UPS or FedEx who require overnight service be used. You actually use the Post Office? I haven't had any luck with my local. Do you take it to them or have it picked up, they had a nut when I started asking about how to ship a handgun. The gun shop definitely use UPS. Odd...
  16. That kills me, I went to the post office after I read their rules and thought they were going to call the National Guard to get me out of there. Seriously, security and the whole nine yards. Just out of curiosity, do you tell them it's a pistol?

  18. Yeah, I thought that also, but my local USPS says otherwise. Their on line rules aren't real clear on the subject.
  19. I looked in other threads, but couldn't find anything close to this, so here we go. I have been involved in shooting since before I could go to school and when I entered adulthood I started trading guns and ammo wherever I could. Then the internet came and now I can trade and sell stuff anywhere I want. I have spent thousands of dollars shipping guns all over the United States at 30.00-50.00 here and there through local dealers. This year I get my FFL thinking how nice it would be to be self sustained and deal when and where I want. So I make a sale and go to both of the big shippers and they want to charge me 100.00+ plus to ship a handgun, needless to say I shipped it through a local dealer for 30.00. Can anyone explain to me why it's cheaper to send a gun through my local dealer than it is for me to ship it with an FFL? Am I missing the secret handshake or something? I keep ranting and deleting trying to figure out the best way to word this, so give me a hand and clue me in. Any help is appreciated.
  20. Neve hard of anyone doing it that way, but don't see why not. Airtight storage.
  21. I shoot USPSA and I shoot multiple guns and divisions. I think I have hindered myself by doing so when it pertains to not being classified as high as I would like. In two and a half years of shooting, I have only made it to B Limited and B Open, C Limited 10 and C Production. I think I would be classed higher if I just stuck to one gun, but wouldn't have had near as much fun. My .02
