Looks like the Wills kid didn't do to bad either... Good to see the young doing well.

I was wondering why the boy did not arb. As a range master you should have not told the boy anything like that. At his age, he would have seen you as a person of power and influence and being upset I am sure didn't help. It was his choice to make with out any guidance and with 3 people willing to stand up and state what they saw he should have arb'd it, if for no other reason he would have left the match feeling like everything that could have been done, was done. Shooting doesn't make him a man and he would see you as a boy would. He is a boy with a 12 year old maturity level, shooter or not. I think a lot of things went wrong for that kid, and I hope this doesn't keep him from hitting the range again soon. What is the difference? Did the boy set the gun down on the table without the safety applied? The CRO for the stage stated the safety was off and was 100% sure he made the correct call. That was good enough for me. Going to arbitration would have just added to the shooters grief and cost him $100. As I told him, use it as a learning experience.

Correction: One was Dq'd while still under the make ready. Several people that witnessed this were talking about it. And I heard the whole thing is on video but I doubt we see it. Too bad no one helped the boy arb it. I agree, but will also have to add my 2 cents, that all juniors are not created equal. What one junior may or may not get is not based on their skill set it seems more relevence is placed on gender. There are very good juniors that have obvisous talent both male and female but more help seems to go to the girls. I applaud anyone willing to help ALL the kids out. Just wish all the kids got equal treatment. I know the juniors who you have helped Pinman and I applaud you sir those are some pretty awesome boys.

Yes, I heard it was Lee Wills. What makes this so remarkable is Lee has some sort of hand disability and some how fought through that to make B class in Single Stack, at 11. I will look to Para for my next guns based on this new information. Congrats PARA, a very nice show of support to a most worthy young man.

I just heard on facebook that Para has picked up a new shooter to join Tomasie. Wonder if that is true? If so, very good choice by Para.

A post I read this morning, and wondering if anyone in the inner circles of USPSA can answer this questioin: Did the 11 year old that made B class in Single Stack, set a record? I am sure it has been done in the Open division, what about on iron? Super congratulations to my good buddy Lee Wills for earning B class in Single Stack! Lee is a great young man who has worked extremely hard to overcome adversity to achieve his goals. You are an inspiration Lee!!

Agree with John Z on this, if you have not had the pleasure to meet these boys, you should. They have been raised correctly, they are polite and humble on the range. They are in my opinion the epitone of what is so good about our sport, these juniors are the future and these guys represent our sport well. Congrats to you Jesse and welcome. Look forward to seeing you some when the season starts again.

Those boys of yours are worth helping out mam... They are our future. They are both respectful on the range and safe. They are sure fun to watch as brother competitors, kinda warms the heart. Kudo's to you Cliff for helping our sport by helping a junior.

A tough match for the little guy.. I did get a chance to see him shoot. He continues to improve leaps and bounds unfortunately area 8 this year was probably a bit more advanced for someone that young. Looked as if he was having fun with his squad and at his age, that is all that counts!!

Well the boy has youth on his side... alot of heart and he is very agressive running the stages someone has been training that boy. Cliff is a mighty fine shooter but I am going to have to by my earlier pick.... My money is on the kid!!

He really is, have seen him and his brother several times now. I am in awe at how much they improve each match. The little guy is all heart on the stage. HIs brother seems to be the same way. Kinda taken with the little one because he is so young running like a pro. Thanks again for a great match.

Great Match... weather was perfect, range staff was great. I shot poorly. Good to see the juniors out there. I got my biggest kick out of the little kid shooting the shotgun the size of him. The kid is quite the little shooter in all matches, have seen him several times now But hey looking at his scores he didn't do bad at all.
