  1. http://www.v7weaponsystems.com/collections/upper-parts/products/v7-ar-15-basic-upper-receiver This would be my choice. Very high quality from a great company.
  2. http://www.v7weaponsystems.com/collections/featured/products/v-seven-titanium-carrier Another new option to the titanium BCG market. I will be ordering one shortly. I'll report back as soon as it's in my hands.
  3. Getting straight to the point, can a buffer or BCG be too light? I ask this question assuming the gas is adjustable. I've been shooting and competing with AR's for a long time but I haven't experimented much with lighter weight internal components. Also, for arguments sake say you run a 2oz buffer and a 8oz BCG, would this recoil (and require the same amount of gas) the same as a 8oz buffer and a 2oz BCG? And how does spring rate play into all of this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Shoot...my kid has 4 college funds...Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines. He can choose whichever one he wants just as long as it's Army!!
  5. I run 10-8's. They have multiple heights and widths available as well as fiber optic, tritium, and brass inserts. I run a .125 rear notch with .115 front fiber optic. I also have a setup with a .140 rear notch and a .125 front. I prefer the tighter sight picture and thinner front sight.
  6. 23.6gr of TAC runs great in my Noveskes (14.5, 16, 18...all 1/7 twist) with a M41 primer, LC brass, mag length, with a Nosler 77gr CC.
  7. Scott! I'm not sure whether to thank you for letting me shoot your pistol or hate you forever. I have to get one now!
  8. I had G and R Tactical fit a Storm Lake to my M&P 9L 9mm and I love it. It is extremely accurate and reliable. 15 yard groups are approximately 1-1.5" with 5.0gr of power pistol with a 124gr Nosler CC.
  9. I would have never considered spending 4-5k on a pistol until now. I'm not in a position where I can order one right now but the "dream gun fund" has already been started. Are Infinity's picky with magazines like other 2011's?
  10. Dang, checked this thread to late. Just the fact that Taran was willing to help us out will sway me towards TTI on my next purchase.
  11. I'm very overwhelmed by the options but I've heard Infinity's customer service can walk you through each choice and make recommendations.
  12. As the title says I had the opportunity to shoot a Infinity pistol yesterday for the first time. It was a 5.4" sight tracker in 9mm...I'm pretty sure it ruined me for life. I don't have a lot of 1911/2011 experience and I've only shot one other 2011 but this Infinity was amazing! I'm not sure what value this post contains but I just needed to vent to some fellow shooters...I am still in awe of how amazing that pistol was. I consider myself a pretty decent pistol shooter (Only shoot 3-gun these days but I'm guessing I'm a solid A class shooter) and I swear I instantly improved shooting that stupid gun. My 3-gun pistol is a 5" M&P with every modification imaginable and it's not even worth mentioning in the same sentence as an Infinity. If you've never had the opportunity to handle or shoot one I HIGHLY recommend you take the chance if it ever presents itself...but beware, you may never be content with your current pistol again. So my question to all the 2011 guys is this: Do other custom builders compare to Infinity or should I just bite the bullet and buy the best?
  13. I run Noveske barrels and I haven't experienced one yet that isn't accurate. I zero'd two 14.5" builds yesterday (one stainless, one CHF) and both barrels were shooting around 1" 5 shot groups with my generic reloads. I'm confident both guns will be sub-moa with a little bit of load development. My 18" medium contour 3-gun build consistently shoots 3/4" groups or better with handloaded Nosler 77gr CC's.
  14. The only load I shoot is nosler 77gr CC over 23.6gr TAC lit with a CCI #41 primer. Never chrono'd it. Sounds like JP is the ticket. Any consideration to the Titane carrier?
  15. Mark, I read a lot of your posts and they are always very well written and full of information. Thank you for your contributions to this forum. I'm a "buy once cry once" kind of guy and I want the best/lightest carrier I can get but I also want a reliable/durable gun. What would you recommend for my application? Gun will be 18" rifle gas, SLR gas block, Jp silent captured spring.
  16. Has anyone tried the new JP aluminum bolt carrier? The specs are impressive, I'm just concerned it will have a short lifespan like the discontinued version. Anyone that has one please comments on your experience so far.
  17. Looking for a very soft shooting 9mm load using Nosler 124gr JHP's. I'm shooting a M&P pro 5" and I'd like to use a 13lb spring. What are the best soft shooting powders?
  18. Paul Buffoni with BCM strongly prefers 11.5". I like 11.5 for a slightly longer dwell time and the bump in velocity.
  19. Great scope and reticle. It excels at long range but suffers a little up close due to the 1.5x
