Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. We pretty much follow the rules which make sense and discard the rest. For my main club it is mainly about shooting. Uncle Mikes are fine for us, because we want people shooting and the Uncle Mikes Kydex allows them to do it with little start up costs.
  2. I switched from Blade-tech to Comp-tec after a friend pointed out their website. I picked up a paddle (the non-locking kind) for my 85 combat. I have since bought three more and will probably get another one as soon as he makes one for the SP01. I have found I like the FBI cant better than the straight drop (although this is pure personal preference) and I like the paddles better than the locking paddle which I think takes to long to take on and off.
  3. I don't really mind blind stages, I think they have their place in any competition, if for nothing else than to mix it up. My problem with listening to the cadance, is that I am never sure what order they are engaging the targets and if they may have missed one, etc. I tend to rely on my target recognition, maybe it is slower, but it gets me fewer procedurals. -- and I get enough already.
  4. It is not logical that the same bullet/load would be major in one division and minor in the other. I would like to see 9mm major in Limited, but it isn't that big of a deal (I shoot minor now) I like the 9mm and don't really own, nor have the reason to own, other calibers. I am new, so maybe the controversy is lost on me.
  5. I hope to get my greedy little hands on one soon (angus says he hopes to get more) I hope it is ESP, but I have a feeling BW is going to say it is a 75 with an extended dust cover. Also isn't it too heavy for SSP?
  6. I got that email too and it really amused me. I mean really, my name and address have been available for years in the phone book. Heck all some one had to do is (gasp) look it up. Heck they could even have gone down to the courthouse and seen how much i paid for my property. Maybe I am being silly, but quite frankly I am not hiding from anyone. The people that frighten me already have all the information they need.
  7. Anthony, Do you use carry pads with a mag well?
  8. That Sig 226 sport stock or whatever they call it on this side of the pond sounds like a good idea. I think I might have to try one on for size.
  9. So Tac why not get Josh to make you a carry holster for your Infinity? I know you want one.
  10. Did that by mistake one time and it cost me the match. I cursed bill wilson to high heaven that day. But I got over it. ... I think.
  11. It is approved if it is .45 in CDP but in ESP (mine is a super 38) you cannot have the heavy barrel, even if it is under 4.2" I remember I paid to much for them to sweat on them at a match.
  12. I can't shoot what I carry (STI VIP) it isn't in Bill Wilson's approved list.
  13. The problem with this attituted is shooters will soon tire of it and leave. Lets face it the people who are attracted to games are by in large gamers. You can only make so many decrees before they leave your kingdom for a free land. Look how bad USPSA has gotten under poor leadership, IDPA is not immune, and arogance from the BOD will not help matters. We need the rules to be logical and fair, when they are not the game suffers. As far as 'interpretation' of the rules goes, it is similar to how courts make laws by 'interpreting' common law or the constitution.
