  1. Funny that you mention this because we actually looked at doing just that. However, and unfortunately it's not going to happen this year. You will however do some other things while shooting and some other things on the tower stage John, buddy, you hearing this? I'm hoping for maybe a long rifle shot while harnessed in and hanging out over the edge?!? Don't worry, we're gonna rid you of that damn heights thing.
  2. I accidentally dropped my rifle off a table while sighting in. It fell on the scope (Razor) on concrete. It knocked the windage off 1 moa, that's it. I wouldn't suggest repeating that experiment, but I'd say it's durable. Not to mention the hundreds of times I've spiked my rifle in dump barrels and never had the zero move a bit.
  3. That was actually pretty hard to judge. The pain of each stage seemed to erase the memory of the previous one.
  4. Absolutely. I usually buy them 3 at a time. I think I usually count 13 coils past the end of the tube. Not sure why 13, I think I heard it somewhere, seems to work. If you cut it too short, it will work for a while, the crap out at an inopportune time. A good reason to buy multiples.
  5. Getting in and out of B'ham is a piece of cake. It's so much smaller than ATL, one terminal, one baggage claim. And of course Southwest rocks. I think drive time to Blakely is about the same. It's about 3.5 - 4 hours with over half of that being two lane roads. You may have more rental car options in ATL, but if you make reservations it doesn't matter. Birmingham is also much easier to get out of. I know some guys flew into Dothan, but that's likely and expensive connection. Tallahasse is only 1.5 hrs from Blakely. Never been to the airport, but it might be an option.
  6. Just go to members page on 3gn, go to events, select 2014, find event then hit details. It will take you to a page that will give you a link to pay. I was promoted into the MW match, but don't have that payment option on the 3GN page. So I guess I'm waiting for the e-invoice
  7. You sir are sick and twisted . . . I had flashbacks just walking up them this past weekend at SE3GC The stage with the skedco was pretty cool, that may have been my second favorite.
  8. If you moved before the beep, it was a 5 sec procedural. For Jessie, it was probably a wash as he was ready to pull the trigger the second the beep went off.
  9. The house was pretty cool, you just don't get to do that anywhere else. I really enjoyed the stage spread out on the police pistol bays (three bays, each gun).
  10. I'm stupid too. Apparently you sign into the 3GN site, then go to the page for the match you want to pay for. It will have the option.
  11. Damn, got promoted into Midwest, but not Southeast, which was the one I really wanted to shoot.
  12. Wow, that was a GREAT match! Big thanks to Aaron, Daniel and the rest of the AMU guys. Super fun stages, both fast and challenging. Sponsors were super generous! This will definitely be on my must shoot list next year.
  13. My bad, wrong forum. I have no idea what you're talking about
  14. Am I the only one that tossed their mid bead?
  15. I kinda wondered the same thing, but am unfamiliar with NC tax code. I'm not upset, but it would have been nice to know beforehand(it very well may have been posted and I missed it). Maybe an explanation for good measure as I've never seen sales tax associated with any match fee. I have always been under the impression that a match fee was a service which in Alabama, is not taxed.
  16. Maybe I'm missing it in the rules, I understand the scoring will be time plus. But does that mean for the entire match, meaning a running time total(aggregate), or will each stage be scored separately assigning stage points based on each shooters stage time? Am I making sense?
  17. I think that everyone is wait listed at first and then they move people into the match. Ahh, gotcha.
  18. Did this thing really just fill up in less than a minute? I submitted my registration pretty much right at 6(central) so I wouldn't forget and my registration status is "waitlist"
  19. Yes! Hearing this talk of planned "changes" that haven't been publicized doesn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Before we play the registration game again, tell us all what we're signing up for. And more importantly, once they're posted, stick to and adhere to the rules for the season, no changes after people have spent $ to compete under the rules that were set at registration only to be changed later. Moving the goalposts ain't cool. Even the perception of it happening should be very troubling. A good reason why a complete and published rule set prior to kicking this thing off is the only right way to do it. Taking the time to do it right will pay dividends in the future and prevent a lot of hurt feelings and headaches.
