  1. I totally disagree!!! there is never a reason to drive and talk... let alone answer an email!!!! you can always pull over. Studies have shown that driving while distracted on a cell phone is worse than drunk driving. I hope you would agree that NO one should ever drink and drive.....
  2. ^+1 keep us informed. I am courious what PMC is going to say. Glad you wernt hurt and good luck with STI/PMC
  3. Every day i drive past 50+ people that are busy talking on their cell while driving. about 5 of those are driving about 5 under the speedlimit because they are too distracted to drive......... At least once per month someone will try to merge into me on my motorcycle because they are too busy on their cell to look before they merge..... Just had to get that off my chest
  4. Very nice. I would love to be able to tackle a project like this.
  5. here is my pea shooter. hoping to start shooting uspsa, I have been shooting IDPA with her. currently mostly stock except 15# recoil spring, 19# main spring titanium hammer strut titanium main spring cap doug koneig hammer wilson combat xtra power firing pin spring badly needs a trigger job
  6. These are some really nice setups you guys have. Here is what I work with, I get a workout when I do over 500 is a sitting....
  7. I have been lurking here for a while trying to learn. I have a few questions. I currently have a kimber tactical 1911 in 45 and was wondering if it would be worth it to pick up another pistol for shooting uspsa/ipsc? I currently shoot it in CDP class of IDPA but the 45 puts me in a dissadvantage( I believe) for uspsa/ipsc. I know that I want to stick to the 1911/2011 frame. I also see that single stack seems to be a difficult class to start in. I was thinking or something like an STI edge to shoot limited. I do reload, currently I reload .45 and 9mm but can easily setup for .40 Any advice would be greatly appriciated as now I am hooked on competitive shooting thanks to IDPA. thanks Shaun
  8. That looks like a Brazos Custom in your avatar...if you can afford that, you can afford and SV Mine is a Glock, no way I'm affording one. I could only dream of an SV, Brazos, or STI.... Very beautiful and I am jellous
  9. Very nice... can I ask, what made you choose SVI over other brands?
  10. I love learning new things. I would have never thought to use motor oil on my guns. But as already stated, if it can protect a piston moving 133 miles per hour or 11,000 feet per min and reaching over 1400 degrees then it can protect a gun.
  11. Nearest range(with a ton of restrictions) is 30 miles each way nearest IDPA match 75 miles each way nearest USPSA that I am aware of is about 100 miles away
  12. I would definately be in to shooting some steel. do you have a link for me? thanks
  13. Just wanted to stop in and say Hi. I am in the Hampton roads area. I shoot CDP in IDPA in Norfolk regularly and want to start shooting ipsc and other matches. I know about the matches at US training center but are there others? Thanks Shaun
  14. Ill make sure i take my gear and see how it goes... I am sure that after aber 30 seconds i will be wishing that i could shoot Blackwater Practical Shooters http://www.blackwatershooters.com/multi-gun.htm
  15. Just wanted to say hi. I have been in the Army for just over 10 years now shooting well over a million rounds in my first few years. In my new field I dont get to shoot much. I currently own a Glock 21, Noveske M4, and a Savage 300 win mag. I got on here to learn mostly about the 3 gun competition and what is all involved. With what I have already read I am going to watch my first 3 gun match( only watch since I dont own a 12 guage yet) on the 10th in NC. I am looking forward to learning some new stuff. I wish everyone a happy new year
