Kenny/Francisco got the site fixed to again show the extra power striker spring:
That alone has cured all of my light strike problems but the only mods I have in most of mine are Apex sears and USBs.

Thanks Mike, that's good to know. I had a spare new one of those in my stash of parts and installed it and still have issues, so while it was helpful I still feel it's a bandaid for a larger issue.

What weight recoil spring are you running? Too light a recoil spring can cause the striker to move the slide out of battery enough to cause light strikes.
I'm using the factory weight recoil spring.

In Oct 2012 Dan Burwell did his $65 Standard trigger job on my 5” 40 M&P Pro, and he also modified the striker for increased pin protrusion in order to ignite any primer. I specifically wanted this trigger job because it kept stock springs; I wanted to ensure good primer ignition with any primer. As part of this trigger job Dan modified the striker such the gun will only operate with his modified striker. In the spring of 2013 the striker broke and I got a replacement from Dan. During the 2013 season I also adjusted the seating depth on my 1050 to ensure a hard seat. Late in the 2013 season I was able to run Remington primers with an SSS extra power striker spring (which I no longer see listed on SSS’s site, but I am told I can use Glock striker springs) and still get 100% ignition. It’s now 8,000 rounds later and the gun only ignites Federal primers; I am led to believe this poor ignition is getting worse.
This year, so far, I have tried multiple brands of small pistol primers (Federal, Remington and Winchester), checked my primer seating depth, cleaned my striker channel (multiple times, multiple ways, with and without lube), replaced my striker spring (tried a Wolff stock weight and am back to a new SSS extra power), and even swapped out the plastic parts of the striker assembly. I am at a loss.
Can someone guide me in the right direction on how to fix this? I wanted a duty style gun to compete with, not a picky gun. I’ve contacted Dan, but haven’t heard back yet. I typically practice twice a week so I really don’t want to send the gun back to Dan.

And here I am having to use a extra power striker spring to avoid light strikes. Anyway, from switching to a extra power striker spring I noticed no difference in my trigger pull.

BCM is now listing the 13" model for sale, but no word on 15" yet... any updates?
Their 13" rail still says "Coming Soon" on their website.

What choke comes in these guns? I just ordered a 24" M3000 today. +5 is on the way from Shooters Connection.
Also, I have read that M1 and Ber/Ben Mobil chokes both fit. Are they the same?
Mine came with IC, Mod and Full. I'm using Carlsons Beretta chokes and they fit perfectly.

My Nordic barrel really likes 52 HPBT, but it does not like 77's. Keep meaning to try 69's.

trp: I have a 26" barrel Stoeger 3000 and added a Nordic +6 tube, which ends up close to flush with the muzzle. With my longer than average follower I'm getting 10 in the tube, +1 in the chamber, +1 for a ghost load.

I did go ahead and purchase the Nordic Low Drag Follower, mistake... It isn't the same shape so don't buy one. If any one wants this one let me know, I am going to see if they will take it back.
Interesting, because that Noridc follower fit better than the stock Stoeger follower in my 3000.

No, that is not the one I used. Mine looks very similar to this one, but with cuts on the side...I think mine is an earlier version of this follower.
The stock follower was heavily dragging, especially forward in the stock tube (towards the muzzle), almost as if the Stoeger tube got narrower.

Just bought the M3000. Should be at my FFL within a week or so. What Nordic tube did you get for it? I've heard the the Nova but just wanted to make sure before I commit.

Bought this 26" Stoeger 3000 off of GB for $429, added a Nordic +6 tube, Nordic low drag follower (because the stock follower was dragging) and installed a Carlson LM choke tube (Beretta thread pattern). Have about 150 rounds through it of various cheap Wal-Mart low-brass bulk shells. No malfunctions to report. So far I am one happy camper! I plan to install a TTI safety, shoot it this season and then have the loading port opened up next winter. I appreciate all the advice and info in this thread.
Interesting note: even though I had the unthreaded portion of the stock mag tube, I simply screwed on the Nordic extension and everything worked fine. I did not have to cut, trim, or dremel anything.

Won an auction last night on a black 26". Northern Firearms has sporadic one day auctions on Gunbroker for the black 26" with free shipping, $429. It's the lowest price I've seen.
Also, I contacted Nordic to see if they would make a tube for the Stoeger 3000's in the future, the answer was No.
Does anyone know which Nordic extended bolt handle with fit the 3000's? http://nordiccomp.com/retail/shop/product-category/shotgun/bolt-handles/

Wish I had a pic of it, but the thing looked melted, not cracked. Very weird...

I blew a primer in the later 90's with an AR in Highpower shooting (we were using HOT loads for 600 yards) and the tip of the Ti firing pin was melted off.
Highly likely Bill, that if that really was melted (Ti MP is a little over 3000F), it would have vaporized a steel firing pin.
Huh, I'm stumped then. I returned it to the vendor at Camp Perry I had purchased it from and went back to steel FP's and have had no problems.

Ok, still inching closer to one of these guns, but one more question for a shotgun newbie: what exactly is the mod to the loading port? Just a bevel and flare?

This was my first season with an M&P (approx 7500 rounds down the tube), and I decided I like it, so it's time to tune it up a little over the winter in preparation for 2014's season. Today I polished the feedramp, which didn't take long at all and now feels slicker than snot. I also plan on getting a stronger extractor from SSS (I keep hearing the stock one gets squirrely around 7k rounds, but I haven't had any problems yet), and want to change the sights so POI is where I aim (currently it hits a few inches low).
What slick mods are you guys doing to make these plastic Smiths run better?

Got my M3000 in today and installed the Nordic +7. Pretty easy. Just took a little cutting and sanding.
I left about 14" of spring sticking out. 11 rounds fit in the tube. Will test it out tomorrow.
No rethreading of the tube for the Nordic extension?
Nope. No rethreading was necessary. I did have to cut off a little on the end of the tube and I did have to sand the threads on both the tube and the nut. i.e. sand then try, sand then try, etc. Once I got to the right point,,,, everything just went right together.
This was a lightly used M3000 from Gunbroker. The seller said it was bought new in September. It looks "as new" but supposedly has around 100 rounds through it. I gave $350.00 + shipping and figure they did me a favor my getting a headstart on the "break-in" and saved me $100.00!!!!
