  1. SL, I took 132 to the other end of Williams Stonelick Corner Rd and the hill is considerably better than the Benton Rd hill. The road is wider and the curve is not as bad as Benton Rd. -Andy
  2. I know you don't want to take the Benton Rd route. I am going out there tomorrow to setup for the match. I will take the 132 to the other end of Williams Stonelick Corner Rd and let you know. Kevin S. might have a suggestion as well.
  3. 4. Come on out this Sunday and give it a try.
  5. This is why there is: 11.1.5 Retain Evidence – An appellant is required to inform the Range Master of his wish to present his appeal to the Arbitration Committee and may request that the officials retain any and all relevant documentary or other evidence pending the hearing. Photos, audio and/or video recordings will not be accepted as evidence. You cannot tell what context this single point in time is.
  6. Trust me you will want to get your applications in, as you don't want to know what Dan's alternate plans are for port-a-johns. He mentions a rough wooden seat, getting 2x4's from a construction site and a shovel. Ladies and Gentlemen, please get your applications in. I have seen Dan put all of his heart and soul in to putting together this match and I know it is going to be a really good match. -Andy
  7. Welcome, from a former NE Ohioan and current Cincinnatian.
  8. Jon, If it is still the same, you will watch a video, listen to some of the BOD talk about the club, start filling out the membership application and get a tour of the range. I would bring a pen and some hearing protection. When they take you on the tour they have each firing line go cold, but as your are approaching the lines some people are still shooting. Kevin can correct me if I am wrong.
  9. Hmmmm... follow the rules? They aren't that complicated. Nor particularly onerous. The belt-loop thing and the towel fiasco, together, illustrate one of the philosophical differences between the international rules and the US rules. Internationally, if you violate a rule off-the-clock, you get a penalty that affects your score. In the US... you get to fix the problem, no harm no foul. Note that, if I recall correctly, ladies are allowed to have a separate set of belt-loops somewhat lower on their hips... but the belt still has to go through belt loops. Most ladies either wear their belt at the waist, or sew three belt loops on their shooting pants. It will depend upon what division she is shooting in. 5.2.3.1 Applies to Revolver, Limited 10, Limited and Open, but does not apply to Single Stack or Production.
  10. Just got back from a full day at the range. Yes we had a full house and turned a few away again. So like I said come early when you decide to join. There will be an NRA rep at the orientation to get you signed up on the spot . And you get $10 off! Kevin, That is a good deal. It was good seeing you today. -Andy
  11. Jonny, You have to be a member when you submit your application, not when you apply. -Andy
  12. Jonny T, The new membership orientation meetings are always on the 1st Saturday of the month at 1:00 p.m., except January. Kevin has some very sage advice in getting there early, since he is on the Board, there is a limit of 30 people each month. I highly encourage you to come out to any of the matches that Chris listed above, even if you don't meet up with Kevin. When you do come to a match, just let the RO know that you are a new shooter. When you find that you like it are addicted to it, I would encourage you to join USPSA and take the RO course as you become very acquainted with the rules. I know if you are a new shooter at Miami Rifle & Pistol, your first match is free.
  13. Johnny T, Welcome. 1) What Chris said. 2) Miami Rifle & Pistol has a new members orientation meeting this Saturday (March 5, 2011) at 1:00 p.m. Hope to see you out there. -Andy
  14. Skydiver, thank you for the tip. I was having the same problem as Jammer1911.
  15. Welcome from SW Ohio, originally from Geauga County. 16. I think I can make it EkuJustice, Thank you for making my morning, with that video clip. -Andy
