  1. I'm looking at just bolting the holster to the belt...that will take out most of the gap problem. Thanks guys. Scott
  2. I agree with all that, but my gun sits at 2.25" from the inner belt at rest on my body so it would be illegal. That's why I was asking for clarification. I found another thread saying it was legal, but I'm trying to make 100% sure. Scott
  3. So I'm poking around looking at holster rules for Production Division and was hoping to find the info, but it seems to be alluding me. The Blade-Tech DOH (http://blade-tech.com/Black-Ice-DOH-pr-1211.html) is it legal for Production? I've been hearing that it is, but I can't find the official ruling on it. Can anybody shed some light on it for me please? Thanks. Scott
  4. http://www.youtube.com/apextactical I'd recommend watching the videos through first in the following order. Hard Sear install USB Install DCAEK install #1 (Same procedure for the comp kit) DCAEK install #2 Striker Spring install Scott
  5. Eric, Glad it's working for you. I look forward to hearing about your classifier results. Scott
  6. If you install just the Hard Sear and USB you'll get a dead smooth pull with a crisp break at right around 4lbs. Scott
  7. DMAC, The Forward Set Sear and trigger will give you a pre-travel production and over travel limitation. I'd love to see pics of Scott Springer's work on your slide when it's done. Thanks. Scott
  8. The new trigger and Sear were unveiled at Shot Show, you can see the reaction videos on youtube. The parts are not available yet, we're working on getting the triggers made. Mid spring is our best guess for release at this time. Scott
  9. The over travel is going to be the toughest part, but with some of the other stuff we're coming out with, I don't think that will be a problem.
  10. Yes, we're developing such a system. We're unveiling that at SHOT SHOW in January. Scott
  11. Thankfully it is. I've been using mine in Production for the past 6 months.
  12. Sounds like your trigger loop was either crushed down or you have a gun that's a bit off. Were you using a 45 model or a standard model (9,40,357)? If you had called us in the shop about that, I'd have sent you a 45 sear to give you enough over travel to make it work properly. Scott
  13. Get the Taylors, they're far better. Also look into a Speed Shooter Specialties Magwell, I've worked with a handful of them and they're top notch.
  14. The Williams sights came in, and the one mentioned above works perfectly. It fit right into the dovetail without any hassle. The only thing I don't like about it is that the Optic doesn't have a square metal housing around it, just bands of steel to hold it in place, so it's more of a Dot driver's sight, but that's good for my customer that's getting the sight. Scott
  15. Here's a shot of my punches and hammer I use to remove the extractors on the M&P
  16. The FRE has proven to be a really tough one for most people. Try dripping some penetrating lube on to it like Kroil or even some gun oil. Use a short stubby punch like a nail set to get it started then use a longer one to punch it all the way out. I've had my best luck with a light Jeweler's hammer with quick, sharp taps on the punch. If you continue having trouble email me at scott@apextactical.com
  17. Hey guys, thanks for the tip on the sight. I just ordered a couple of the Williams sights to play around with. I'll report back on the results as soon as I can. Scott
  18. You would be surprised what a difference .005" can make in trigger pull weight. The Competition firing pin has a conical shape tip that's better suited to get a deeper strike on the softer Federal primers when the DA weight is set for around 4 lbs. The XP Firing pin maintains the same domed tip as the factory pins, but is longer and better suited for striking primers when the trigger pull weight is higher than a competition gun. The problem with the Conical tip Comp pin is that if you crank up the Strain Screw you are likely to puncture the primer cup when firing, which is not preferable.
  19. It's possible to lighten the barrel. I had my 6 inch 617 barrel slab sided, the "underlug" cut, and had some cocking serrations cut. Yup you read that right. Seiichi you cut the........what????? That's what Seiichi gets for joking with his gunsmith.
  20. Well, you certainly have the right spring set in your gun. Thanks for the update. I was concerned that you may have received the incorrect Sear Spring.
  21. Got cha. If you don't mind, please PM me the results of the weight test. Scott
  22. You might consider carefully polishing your Striker engagement surface. If it got a little divot in it from the original Sear, that could produce the heavier transition you're describing. Is there any chance you reinstalled the factory Sear Spring? The Comp Sear Spring is lighter than the factory Sear Spring. If you're able to measure your trigger pull weight, I'd be interested to see what it breaks at.
