  1. I've seen the same thing and the imperfections do not affect anything except raise questions in my head. Glock BBL's are hammer forged and if the mandrel has dirt or something on it when the bbl is made, the dirt is pounded into the steel.
  2. Did anyone see one at SHOT? Is it in .40 or .45. I think TGO's is in .40. If it's in .40, what mags are they using?
  3. I shoot an STI Limited pistol and use SV mags. You might try bending the lip inward slightly or replace the spring and follower first before trying new tubes. If you have a mag that is reliable, measure the distance between the inside of the lips and see if more clearance exists on the mags that do not work. Use this as a starting point.
  4. Peter, I have not tried teflon coated bullets but several years ago BullX sold CSJ High Performance Moly Coated bullets which I shot extensively, but not in an open gun. They were moly coated lead and smoke was not an issue. Leading was non-existant and accuracy was excellent in both Limited guns and revolvers. If the teflon coated bullets are near as good, they may be worth a try. Will the reloader let you try a small quantity or is there a minimum order? DVC.
  5. I've tried Jerry's grips and they did not fit me well..I've got long fingers. I use either extended Nill Grips or Pachmayr Presentation grips.
  6. I've got two. When I play Glock Jock in Production, I shoot the K-series tactical. I've got the same set-up for a Para LDA in Production. The K-series Tactical is legal for Production and IDPA, I think. The K-series Limited is not. I think the concealment back plate drops the holster down a little lower than the standard back plate. The tactical back plate makes the draw a little smoother, for me.
  7. I hate Oxy Clean commericals and any of Billy May's other commericals where he pitchs "Whooping" anything or points at the camera 50 times. AGGGRRRHHH!!
  8. BE, My point regarding the plates was in reference to ties in that event, not the whole match. Some may not realize, the time limits are reduced by two seconds and shooting continues until a miss occurs. Unlike IPSC, where Steel = Comstock. Too many shooters over empasize the celeritas and ignore the diligencia.
  9. Good point, Chuck. Maybe some don't realize that once you clean the first 48 plates, you shoot for X's and the time is reduced by two seconds a string, at least at the "big" matches. Miss one and you are done!!!
  10. I don't think the COF should change. At least for me, I like to shoot Bianchi because it is the same and I like to shoot IPSC because it's not. The change is nice. I work on accuracy and technique for NRA and speed for IPSC. IPSC makes me a better Action Pistol shooter and vice versa. The specialization is no different than Open class IPSC. My first Open NRA auto pistol was an old IPSC gun with a barricade shroud in 9x23. Just think of Action Pistol as a fixed time IPSC COF. Learn how to shoot each event and shoot. One problem with the Cup is the duration of the match and the expense. More shooters would participate if they knew how first class Bianchi is. But there lies the problem.. it costs the NRA many $$$ to put on the match and pay out the prize money. Therefore, the NRA charges $325 to shoot the Cup. Also, to shoot the match you have to stay in Columbia for, at least, four week days. Not many people will do that.
