  1. Quote: from bonedaddy on 8:28 pm on July 13, 2002 Yep, and that's exactly the time that the huge bull elk we've been tracking will step out in the open. (Edited by bonedaddy at 6:31 pm on July 13, 2002) Been there and done that, except it was a very nice Mule deer Buck. The good news is I can shoot with my pants down around my ankles.
  2. What Women? You mean on the Shooting range. That's OUTRAGEOUS, surly you jest Our outdoor plumbing is the best. That's it I'm a leaving town.
  3. Steve I agree with the fact that we do want them to come back. As the match director of our monthly club match we average 12 to 15 shooter a month and when a new shooter shows up he is assigned a mentor to follow through out the match and the mentor guides him through. This has helped out dramatically as far as saftey issues are concerned. But back to the question at hand yes the shooter is our customer! But the customer is not always right. At club matches WE are the customers because we are the shooters and the RO's. If it's a saftey Issue the RO is "GOD". If it a technical question we have a 3 man committee that checks the rule book and makes a decision. This has only happened a couple of times in the past 5 years that I have run the matches, and it's usually concerning stage set up. Shipster
  4. This is the loads suggested by Hodgdon from their website for the 40 S&W and the 45acp 180 GR. HDY XTP COL: 1.125" Powder grains Vel CUP ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UNIVERSAL 5.8 1046 33,400 PSI Hodgdon doesn't list a load for the 45 with a lead 200gr SWC but this is what the do have: 200 GR. SPR JHP COL: 1.155" Powder grains Vel CUP ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UNIVERSAL 6.7 930 17,200 CUP According to Hodgdon these are MAX loads, so reduce your starting load by 10% to 15%. BTW let me know how it works out. I've been using clays in my 45acp for a couple of years, and it works great.
  5. I'm am a really big fan of Tom Clancy. I have all of his books and the movies made from his Books. If I had to choose just one it would have to be "Clear and Present Danger" Both in the book and the movie.

  8. Thanks Patrick I'll get intouch with Hodgdon and see what the skinny is.
  9. It' funny to hear that there are only a few women master shooters. For years I shot in rifle competition and coached, and I found that women (girls) are much easier to teach rifle shooting to, they come in with a clean slate no preconceived ideas on how to shoot and are much more willing to listen. As far as pistol shooting I have no coaching expirence. But I would assume it would be the same? I know that college rifle teams have quite a few women shooters.
  10. MBneACP said "(HINT: "Because run-and-gun courses are cool!" is not a compelling argument!). " Well I think it is! But who am I? Man I Hate Politics But your probably right on the money MBneACP.
  11. Well then if it's supose to sunset in 2004 if the reps still have control of the house and if we can get control of the Senate it may vary well just sunset. I hope!
  12. With a president that is not hostel to firearms. Has any organization started a move to appeal the currant 10 round mag law. I realize that this also may not be a priority at the moment due to the war on terrorism but now is the time to do the ground work! (Edited by Shipster at 10:17 am on June 21, 2002)
  13. Thanks Erik: Do you recall what primers you were using, were they SP or SR primers. I originally used the powder to load 12 ga phesant loads and used the Fed 209's wich was the hottest primer at the time, to get a clean burn. Thanks
  14. Hi folks! The other day i was thumbing through some load data that I found and it had some data for win 540 for the .40 s&w 180 gr jacketed from 6.2 to 6.9 grains. Have any of you had any experience with this combination. The reason I ask is that I have about 6 lbs. of an 8 lb keg that I forgot I had. Any experience or comments would be great. Thanks in advance (Edited by Shipster at 1:03 pm on June 19, 2002)
