  1. Sherwyn, Thanks for putting together a great match! Can't wait until next year
  2. Those look like some very challenging stages...I can't wait to shoot them
  3. I just called into Hornady and ordered my HAP bullets. The savings on the bullets is about enough to cover about half the match fees. They said the bullets can be picked up at the match.
  4. Anybody here going to travel down early and try to get a tour of Hornady while they are there?
  5. This past year, my interest has in IPSC style shooting has really grown. I attended a few bigger matches this year, and now my fiance is starting to develop the shooting bug too. She asked me a while back if I would like to incorperate a shooting instruction class into our honeymoon. We are starting to plan things out, and I am trying to put together a list of instructors so we can see who is available, and figure out where we want to go.
  6. Nevco Targets makes a good magwell/basepad combo too http://www.nevcotargets.com/swmp.html When I got my gun I got 1. Magwell & mag extensions 2. Competition trigger job via Dan Burwell (He did an amazing job) 3. Tungsten guide rod (I went with a 5") & 13# spring 4. Bladetech DOH holster 5. CR Speed Mag Pouches (soon to be replaced with DA mag pouches) At some point, I might replace the sights, but at this point, I am fairly happy with what came from the factory.
  7. I also carry a 27. I would get that over a 17/19/26. Based on results of testing I have seen, I think the extra power of a 40 S&W to a 9mm warrants having one less round in the mag. The recoil is very manageable, even without finger grip extensions on the magazine. A 27 (or 26) is smaller and easier to conceal, especially for someone who has a smaller build. Ammo is more readily available for in 40 S&W. Mag extensions are available to increase capacity, and make it easier to hold if you have larger hands. Overall, I like the 9mm cartridge, but if given the choice, it would not be my first pick for a personal defense. One other note, I find a 27/26 to be to large for a comfortable pocket pistol. There are probably a dozen other guns in 380/38/357/9mm that would be a better choice if you are looking to pocket carry.
  8. CR Speed sells a model specifically for the M&P. The trigger guard is quite a bit wider on the Smith. I think a call to CR Speed would answer your question. It would probably be easier for them to sell you the parts you need. Please let me know what you find out. I'm thinking about doing the same thing. A few months ago I emailed CR and they replied back that the model specific holster for the M&P was actually for the Springfield XD, but worked okay for the M&P. They were waiting on a gun so they could check to see if they needed to make any changes for the holster to work. I would contact them about it before I ordered one.
  9. I would call Bang Inc. I am sure if there is a problem they will make it right.
  10. The Bang Inc set has a better main spring. In my 686+ I have the Miculek (Bang Inc.) main spring. This main spring is already bent, so it saves the time and hassle of trying to rebend the main spring yourself. I would replace the rebound spring with one from Wolf, and you will get your trigger pull down. As mentioned before, the hitches in the action are much more noticable once you get different springs in the gun, so you will probably want to smooth up your gun. I found Jerry Miculek's action job DVD is a decent jumping off point and it at least gets you familiar with how everything works together, and where you need to start. If you don't want to do the work yourself you might look at Mike Carmoney or Randy Lee at Apex Tactical. I have heard great things about both.
  11. Which 147 gr. bullets are you running and how fast are you pushing them? I have shot shot 147 gr Hornady XTPs at 900 & 950 fps. Both loads shot very well at when I tested them at 10 & 20 yards. If your load is running to slow, it will not spin the bullet fast enough to stablize, and you won't be able to get the bullets to group.
  12. I have been shooting my M&P9 Pro for about 2 weeks now and for the most part, I am enjoying this gun. So far I have had 2 mag followers break on me. I have looked all over the next trying to find replacements, either from Smith or aftermarket, but so far I have not been sucessful. Has anyone been able to locate followers for a 9mm? Thanks!
  13. I am planning on buying a new front sight for my S&W 625. Currently I have a black partridge sight on the gun, but I would like something that stands out better. I have browsed through the forums already trying to find a recommendation for this but to date I haven't had any luck finding information. I am planning on a SDM front sight and a millet rear sight (if I can find a black target sight). My question is what color would you get for the front sight? Green Fiber Optic Red Fiber Optic Gold Beat Thanks for your recommendations. Jeremy
  14. Thanks for all the suggestions. I tried all the places, and so far nobody carries a CR holster for an M&P. Anyone have any other ideas? Do I have any other options other than to order from Rescomp directly?
  15. I am looking for a CR speed holster for an M&P9 Pro. Where is the best place to by a model specific WSM II?
