  1. Bob Vogel only shoots Precision moly bullets through all of his guns. He shoots 20,000 rounds a year just practicing and I've never heard him complain or have any issues with moly bullets. I think I'll keep running them.
  2. My verdict is that Bayou Bullets are awsome. I am using them with my M&P 40 and all I can say is wow. Absolute tack driver since I worked up 2 loads with 2 different powders. Barrel is clean after firing several hundred rounds so far. I contacted Donnie and ordered 2k more. I think I'll stick with these bullets for a while. For those interested in the 2 loads I found, here they are: 4.3 gr of Bullseye WSP OAL 1.13 4.3gr of Red Dot WSP OAL 1.13 I know that Red Dot isn't a powder that is mentioned here a lot, but I actually found that load listed on another forum and decided to try it since I had 3 lbs of Red Dot I bought dirt cheap a few years ago. Of the 2 loads, the Bullseye load feels like a full power load and the Red Dot load is a bit softer, but still lets you know it's there. Both loads will give me a 2" - 3" group off hand at 25 yards with my M&P. I haven't run the loads through a chrony, but I am sure they will both make minor for IDPA, but I will confirm that before use in a match. These bullets don't smoke much either as far as I can tell shooting outdoors. I encourage anyone here to get with Donnie and give these bullets try.
  3. I loaded 124 gr FMJ Precision Delta's with 5gr of 231 at 1.15 OAL. I at work right now, so I don't have my chrono records with me. It made minor PF and was my goto load for IDPA out of the Glock 34 I had. I'll find my info and post it up when I get home later.
  4. Just an update... I shot another match yesterday morning and to my surprise, Mr. know it all wasn't there. When I asked the match director about this guy, he stated that he received complaints from just about everyone in my squad that day after the match, so they asked him not to return. Every shooter there yesterday seemed to be in a much better mood and so much nicer to shoot without the heckling...
  5. 44mag.com or Velocity Shooter.
  6. I use the GRX and then load them up on the SDB. Never any issues foing it this way.
  7. Adam, what sights are on your 40? Maybe the problem is just with the F/O sights and S/W's decision on how to use them? I have the F/O sight on my STI Sentry and it shoots dead nuts at the top edge of the front blade. I have novak tritium night sights on it. S&W sent mine back to me a couple weeks ago. I got a phone call from them prior to getting it that the gun is fine and that the bullet impacts just above the front sight at 25 yards with a 6 o'clock hold. They suggested I don't stand so close to my targets...I politely told them that not every target is 25 yards away. Not sure what I'll do with it. I like the gun, but hate to drop more money into an adjustable sight to get things where I want them. I gots a new baby due next month and really can't afford any new accessories at the moment.
  8. Well I loaded up a few different loads last nigh and made it to the range today to try out the bullets. Of the 4 loads tested, my M&P 40 liked 4.3gr of Bullseye, wsp, 1.13 OAL. Very accurate and makes minor PF for IDPA. Donnie, these bullets are great. I'll definately be in touch for more in the near future. Gonna give your 9mm bullets a try too. Thanks again and no one should be afraid to order from Donnie, he's a straight up guy and makes a great bullet.
  9. Well this thread didn't go the way I wanted it to. All I wanted was some fresh input on the bullets as I just ordered some based off the info I researched on this site. Donnie, I am looking forward to receiving my order and trying out your bullets I've read a lot about them. I'll post my results when I get to loading them. I don't understand why some just can't keep their comments to themselves rather than write something they have no knowledge of. If you haven't had an experience, good or bad, and have nothing to contribute, why post something negative? Thanks again guys for the info and looking forward to running these bullets through my M&P.
  10. I researched him here and he's got good feedback. I emailed him and he responded quickly the same day. He has what I wanted in stock. Granted it's not as hi-tech as other companies, but no different than buying from some auction or other members on this board or others.
  11. Sounds good...I've got a pound of 231 to start with.
  12. I just ordered 2k of the 180gr Bayou Bullets. I will be shooting them out of an M&P 40. I've got Bullseye, WSF, W231, Power Pistols, HS6, Red Dot, and Unique. What would you guys think would be the best choice of powder of my stock? I guess I could get another powder, but would rather burn this stuff up before I buy anything else. Just shooting IDPA, so I don't need to make major. Thanks
  13. Well I told my buddies about all of these suggestions and I think we'll have it covered come next match. Hopefully we won't have any more issues with the guy, but it will be a bad day for him we do...lol
  14. bought an m&p pro from my buddy who was having same problem....turns out s&w put on the wrong rear sight, call smith they'll send a replacement for free I sent them an email this evening about mine. I have night sights, so I don't know if they have sights of different heigths, but I asked. I rather not send it back again if they can't fix it. My gun groups well, but it's low. I personally don't want to have to compensate for this difference in a match nor when I am on duty. Hopefully it is as simple as a different sight and S&W will correct it, but if not; I am getting rid of it. just my .02 cents. Well S&W answered my email. They want me to send the gun back again and gave me a shipping label. They would not send me a new sight unless the sights were defective (which they said they were not), but they want to test fire it again before they do anything. I'll send it to them, might as well, it's spent most of its time at S&W since I bought it.

  16. Well I spoke with some of the other guys from my squad today. We all agreed this guy either needs to be spoken to next time it happens or he just needs to go elsewhere. I was told that our SO that day was new at it and didn't want to ruffle any feathers. We'll see what happen next time.
  17. Well I had this same issue with my M&P 9. Bought it, put 500 rounds or so through it and it was hitting low with all ammo I tried (115's to 147's)(new & reloaded). Sent it to S&W and they had it for 4 weeks. Got it back, took it out and I still have the same issue. My M&P 40 is dead nuts where ever I point it. S&W said they put a new barrel in my 9 and adjusted the trigger. The trigger is actually worse IMO than it was before I sent it to them. Debating on what to do with it at this point. I shot it today and was just disgusted with it. I can contact S&W again, but they didn't fix it the first time, so why send it back again. I think that this was more than just a bad run of pistols because I have read about this problem on several other boards. It seems to be just with the 9mm also. I haven't read anything about the 40's or compacts having this problem unless I missed it.
  18. I've shot with the guy prior to this in other matches, but he was never like this before today. No he wouldn't point out his own mistakes, but after looking at the scores, he came in second to last in ESP. He only beat out a new unclassified shooter. I'm sure the other guys on the squad are very happy with that as I am. He just had a voice today that everyone could hear. I'll speak the the MD next match and let him know about the problem. As far as not shooting at their matches though, I drive 45 minutes just to get there and it's the closest one, so I'll gut it out as long as I can until something better comes along.
  19. I haven't shot for a couple of months due to some surgery I had at the end of May. Today I went to a local club match to have a little fun. There were 10 guys in my squad and all was going well until we started shooting. This guy wasn't even a S.O., but after everyone shot, he was quick to yell out mistakes and procedural violations even though the S.O. already knew what the violations were. To top it off, he is a classified as a MM and spends more money on tacticool clothing and real nice guns that he can't shoot very well. A couple of the other shooters actually told him to shut up, but he seemed to get worse. Anyone else have guys like this and what do you do to deal with them? Thanks
  20. My 9mm mags took 7 weeks. Still waiting on my 40 mags. They received the paperwork for my 40 mags on May 21st. I called malon or the promotion company and they told me it would be the end of July. I still haven't seen my 40 mags. I'll probably shoot S&W an email. So I am at 10 weeks or there abouts right now on my 40 mags.
  21. For my elbow, my doctor said take 100mg of vitamin B6. He says it supposed to naturaly puts things back into place. I personally did not notice a difference. I had surgery on my right wrist (strong hand) back in may and cannot shoot anything till the middle of august. I had all of the cartilidge reattached and it take a while to heal.

    M&P Mags

I like this guy. He provides tracking and ships super fast. His price includes shipping, so thats $24 a mag delivered if you order 4 or more mags or $27 a mag for 3 or less. Cheaper than anyone else (except Botach), but more reliable IMO. ETA: link to thread: S&W forum
  23. That's the way I am reading this. I run a G-Code double mag pouch for IDPA and the first mag is canted forward and the second is straight up. I have never been dinged for it, and a lot of other guys are using it now. I don't think my G-Code is as canted as the XD mag pouch though, but I could be wrong.
  24. If you are shooting what you have now well, I would just do the allowed modifications to that and bump up to ESP. That is what I did with my G34. All I did was add a SS guide rod and magwell. Removed the magwell after the first match...it didn't feel right to me. Just my thoughts.
