  1. Now my lawyer cap is on so hold folks! So when and why did Failure to Engage (FTE) get switched to Failure To Shoot At (FTSA)? This all started by shooters stating they shot at the target and therefore do not get the FTSA penalty. Remember the start of this quagmire, what is the definition of “at” as this word is now in the penalty description and they all technically shot “at” but did not technically engage. I would love to speak to someone to help correctly verbalize this situation as the shooters were quite proficient in their argument. Thanks again everyone for your welcoming comments.
  2. This whole time we had been reading line by line and failed to catch the defined word of engaging. The key words, “in view” that was needed and was there the whole time but these conversations kept us digging. Thanks Brian Enos forum!
  3. I am totally with you but the shooting “at” is in the rules. WSB was clear, and those that chose to engage a non visible target were towing the line here. My real issue is the club has a new shooter freshly out of the Corp trying to help expand the quality of the stage designs to only get torn down by a few GOB’s. The only thing we can fall back on is the rule book that we have almost memorized all 122 pages. Kinda takes the fun away from busting your but to provide a complex stage as the other 4 stages are usually under 20 rounds and no real “solving the problem”. My rant is done so many thanks for all the replies and we will continue to try and do the right thing.
  4. Target was completely unable to be seen from where people were “engaging” it from as the plastic barrel was riddled with holes. Can’t find anything to back up giving FTSA penalty or even a little dig to support this was not in the spirit of the stage setup. Level I match so the intent was to have fun and enjoy the elaborate stage (38 rounds) but the squad must have not liked moving around in 73f weather.
  5. Thanks for your insight. As black and white as the rule book is at times, it would be nice to see something about shooting at a target from a position that is not possible to hit a target does not qualify as engaged. I get it that it is disputable if paper is close together and one is missed, but since some shooters did not take the effort to traverse to the final and only position to neutralize as it was hiding behind a barrel, makes it easy to confirm it should technically be a FTSA. Oh the word AT…..
  6. Late to this topic but similar issue this past weekend. Any comments/rule guidance on shooting “at” a paper target not able to be hit from a further back location only to be guaranteed to miss so not get the FTSA penalty. This was done to keep from going through a cooper tunnel 4ft high. If shooting “at” is okay, then as long as you shoot more than COF stated rounds, getting a FTSA is tough to enforce. Shooting “at” seems very broad to debate but next time there will be more than 1 target to neutralize down range….
  7. Could only select "scoped tactical" when I signed up for the Oct 4-6 match. No open option to select. Paid but will need to clarify the division.
  8. How about a zip line stage? With all the sloped hills it might be pretty easy. Start with harness on, shoot rifle/SG from ground and quick connect yourself to cable a few feet off the ground and finish with pistol. Slope could be slight so it is not out of control fast.
  9. Does anyone know if JTarmament is tied to Rhino? Got an email and when it connects Rhino's old website flashes for a split second.
  10. My rifle sponsor feels your pain as he out a $10k loss supplying them parts they could not get! (now he understands why) I am only out $1300.00 starting back in 2014! I am sure there are others with un-paid debt that do not follow this forum that are also finding out. I am more upset feeling mis-lead from talking to many of the former employees leading me to believe it is on the way.... We spend our lives building up our integrity, and with some, it can so swiftly disappear!!! Life goes on but I hope this can be made right....
  11. For those who never had a chance to redeemed their AP Rhino certificates that were so graciously awarded at many multi-gun matches, the below reply is where AP stands regardless what they tell you over the phone.... This information is not meant in any way to disgrace them but more to let people know their position. Maybe if someone buys their assets, maybe the new owners will address? *****, At this point, the company is effectively out of business. I apologize for not being able to fulfill our obligations. 12. Constructive criticism is how we can get better.... Ripping and tearing others down gets you flagged as "one of those guys". Gary and all of the staff did well and I am sure these comments will be taking into consideration. However......pissing Linda off......bad form! You will regret it.
  13. Check out the tarheel3gun website. Info is being posted there from time to time.
  14. Had to bail for work reasons but I am sure this will make a wait lister happy! Jomar and Jay: I can't tell you how much I appreciate people like you for putting on matches like this for "The Shooters". It is unfortunate that there are others out there trying to profit and make a business out of what use to be a volunteer shooting sport. You guys are a class act! Best of Luck and thanks for the QUICK, no hassle payment return. Support these style of matches everyone, they are getting few and far between.....
  15. If anyone is wait listed, I am needing to stay back for work... Waiting for a reply back to see if I get the refund but have not heard anything....

  18. Full size car rental reserved at Denver airport through Dollar for the duration- $240.10 Southwest Air reserved from Detroit to Denver non-stop round trip $246.00. Reserve early and save!!
  19. I think the 2015 match announcement calendar should have been checked before putting out this announcement. If it was checked then bad form as BRM3G was scheduled....As Mr. Ray pointed out, this will hurt both matches... Maybe an alternate date can be offered up to help this situation???
  20. I see measurements for brass lengths and C.O.L., but I do not see anything on re-sizing dimensions. Believe me, from going from a standard AR barrel to a match grade barrel, this matters. I re-size to no larger than 1.461". The Wilson case gauge is a good reference but not good enough when you need a measurement. Now I measure each brass for long range 3gun matches but then over re-size (1.458") for paper punchers which the Wilson gauge works well for as you will be well lower in the highest point on the gauge but not lower than the too lower point.
  21. Just to clarify there are no "first time" applications coming out in Jan. First timers should mail their applications in ASAP if not already done so which then will be selected base on post mark date after all veterans are registered that want to shoot. Sorry to the guys I told applications were coming for new shooters in Jan as stated in prior post.
  22. Trying to register on the website for the 9pm registration tonight and not getting a password sent back to log on... anyone else having the same?
  23. AAhahahahaaaaaa That's what friends "were" for Nick... I'm looking for a room for ya also. Will let you know.
