  1. I recently started experiencing trigger freeze. I came to realize the non-toxic MPro7 I was using to clean my gun was causing some sort of friction with my trigger. So I switched back to Hoppe’s #9. Problem solved. In the future I might try the center leaf spring adjustment that “shooter_rob” mentioned also.
  2. Does anybody know of better prices available for .38 supercomp brass than starline.com? Ghostholster has been out for some time. Midway.com and Grafs have higher prices. I know that Starline supports our sport and would be happy buying from them but I thought I’d check with you guys first.
  3. SVI seems to have put some new photos of the grip on their website.
  4. A buddy of mine and I were shooting at an indoor range across town that I don’t normally shoot at when he noticed while standing at my 5 o’clock he could see my 9mm’s travel threw the air and to the target. When he was shooting I watched and he was right. I could see every bullet travel to the target. Very cool stuff.
  5. Here’s an idea. I had a buddy put this together for me. You could shorten the base tube so it fits in the trunk of your car. I think a horizontal section of rebar might work better for the top section. The plates could be welded to sections of pipe that could slide over the rebar. If your plates are hardened they will ring pretty loud when hit.
  6. Thanks Rob. Good info. I guess you can tell the anticipation is killin’ me.
  7. Ok. So how long does the sending FFL dealer have to send the firearm? I bought a SVI IMM in the forums. The sending FFL received the gun from the seller the 8th it is now the 10th. When I called to see if it had been shipped they said no, that they are busy and that when they do ship it would be regular USPS. By the way, the seller has been great.
  8. Score! I want one sooooo bad!
  9. I did it!!! Norbert, I had to file quite a bit but you were right! I feel like I can build guns now. Someone send me a frame kit!
  10. Thanks for the help. After finding this thread http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71028 I found an old Beretta Blade-tech mag pouch with the Tek-Lok that I don’t use and did the fix on the 773. I’m in business for now but I don’t like the blade-tech holster. I’ll either pick up a Ghost or SpeedSec 5 after some research here and hope it’ll fit on the belt. Any ideas on which would be more secure (less jiggle for STI/SVI grip)? Shread, Your CNC job is great! No velcro back? I’ll also give Safariland a call. The Limcat goes to the box of holsters.
  11. Oops…. Now I broke one of the 773’s. I better take a break for a while and try to figure out what to replace later.
  12. Ok, I’ll keep trying with the 773’s. I’ve also got a bladetech I can use for now but that Limcat doesn’t look like its going to work.
  13. I haven’t been using any of my gear in the last three years or so. Now I’ve discovered my Safariland belt has shrunk about four inches! I purchased a CR Speed belt and I can’t seem to get my 773’s or my Limcat holster on the belt. The belt is too wide. Any suggestions? Diet is not an option. I’m sure I’m not the first in this mess. Should I try to crush the belt some with channel lock pliers. This is why I didn’t buy the Double-Alpha.
  14. My first thought is ugly, but maybe some crazy custom anodization would look cool.
  15. crazyaboutguns I got the gun back to me in about a week. Like I said, I haven't been shooting much this year.
  16. Well they did the repairs very quickly. The customer service at SVI is great!!! I haven’t been shooting hardly at all this recently, only three times this year. I went out yesterday and decided to try some left hand shooting. As soon as I disengaged safety with my left hand it came apart again!! Actually the safety didn’t even disengage. I don’t know, it could be me but those safeties seemed loose from the get go. I have to press them together all the time. Any new ideas?
  17. A really nice family lives across the street. One of the high school boys told me that his dad lets them drink beer on camping trips. The only condition is that if they do then they can’t ride the 4 wheel ATV’s for the remainder of the day for safety sake. They choose the ATV’s. I think there is a proper way of doing things. A lot of it comes down to family values and if young adults have learned responsibility.
  18. Skywalker It’s bad enough that Steve told his wife he wanted a wagon. Now you want him to ask her to push him in a stroller!
  19. Loves2Shoot In the past I’ve had a note on the door stating that they had come by but nobody was home and that I may pick up my package at the FedEx office after 5PM.
  20. Steve. You’ve got me imagining my bosses reaction when I say “Oh ya, that’s my gun.” …hehe…
  21. The smith working on my gun calls to let me know that some requested repair work was finished and that my gun should arrive at my house the following day, overnight FedEx. The next day I hear a knock at the door, so I throw on a shirt, a pair of pants and run and answer and the door. The FedEx truck is driving off and the package with my gun in it is sitting by the door. It looks like the shipping label may have been tampered with where it says “Release Signature.” Tell me it isn’t a little disturbing a gun was just left at the front door.
  22. David One important thing I failed to mention in my post above. The rounds that didn’t go into battery in my gun did NOT fit in the gauge either. If you are having problems with ammo that fits in the case gauge then that doesn’t seem right. I would definitely consider giving Benny a call. He is reputed to be one of the best smiths out there and from what I gather form the forums he has good turnover time also.
  23. Dave, When I first got my SVI .40 cal. with the AET barrel I myself did have the same problems you are having. I was using (and still use) cheap $8 per 1000 brass from “Brass Man Brass”. Much of the brass is glock fired and bulged at the base. I bought a Lee Undersize die from EGW and that particular feed problem if completely gone. I tightened my extractor and the extraction problem was solved too. Since then I’ve installed an Aftec extractor and it works great also. I keep the original in my shooting bag at a spare. The other problem I had was nosedives if I tried to use Shok Buffs. So I do without.
  24. Phil, SVI has my gun now, but no, it seems I checked that before and I think I had a lot of clearance. The second time they broke it looked like the tongue didn't go deep enough into the "v", and the slotted side didn't look like it reached the base of the tongue. The tongue just snapped off. The first time it just seemed to be a loose fit. This last time I didn't take them off to see what the problem was, I just sent the gun to SVI. It was like the left side was moving around but not quite ready to fall on the ground.
