  1. Although I’m certain I’m not as physically fit as you seem to be I think we’ve enjoyed some similar hobbies. When I was young I was involved in karate and Kung fu, I’ve been shooting my whole life and love bicycling (road type). Have you considered photography? It’s another type of shooting. I discovered and explored things and places I never never would have otherwise. It can be physically demanding or not at all. Unfortunately, like most hobbies it can become a money pit.
  2. I just did this recently and I didn't like the results. My brass was dusty from old overused media. The bullets ended up looking and feeling dirty. A couple rounds did't feed well. Probably my thumb against the slide but the dirty feeling brass couldn't have helped. I feel it's better to just take the extra step and remove the lube.
  3. Mine is a little loose. I only have one old STI tube to try it on. I got the tube used so I don't know what's been done to it before I got it.
  4. I tried coloring my .38 sc brass once for identification. Ended up making a mess of it. Probably not much different then images in original post. I think this link relates http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?66487-Coloring-brass-cases I kept using the brass and eventually it returned back to normal.
  5. I’m not sure about non-chlorinated brake cleaner but chlorinated brake cleaner will remove paint from painted grips. I’d also be careful to keep it away from sights with painted dots. It’s probably not a bad idea to keep strong solvents away from the special coating on glass optics as well.
  6. Google or Bing search “Electrician Tool Bag”. Lots of magazine pockets!
  7. I had a squib years ago from a round I loaded and the round did have powder. As far as I know my powder check didn’t give any indication of problems either. How you might ask? Media with Nu Finish car polish got stuck in the bottom of the brass. I used to add Nu Finish car polish or Dillon Rapid Polish to my media. I was tumbling my brass in new media and remembered I hadn’t added the polish to my media so I opened my tumblr (Vibratory Case Cleaner) and put some in. Lesson learned: NEVER ADD POLISH AFTER BRASS IS IN MEDIA! If you’re going to use polish always put it in media and run tumbler until it is fully dispersed then add brass. I feel a little dumb sharing this story but it may help somebody.
  8. Do you use an air-brush? I can't find a "spray" dykem on their website.
  9. Thanks. I used a Nikon D300 but I think it's Photoshop that helps 'em look a little nicer. Saturation, crop, etc.
  10. These were just sitting on my computer. I took them at the '09 USPSA Natoinals. Thought I'd share.
  11. I had a similar problem. It was solved thanks to this forum. Here is the thread. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...c=71672&hl=
  12. Your old SV is doing well. Here is a photo of it running flawlessly at the Nationals. I took it to Area 2 also.
  13. Best wishes for your mother. You guys are in my thoughts.
  14. I had a similar squib, powder fell out, bullet stuck just in the rifling. The problem in my situation was case polish compound and media stuck in the bottom of the casing. The lesson learned was never ever add compound after you've already started tumbling your brass! Edited for spelling
  15. I've been taking one or two chopsticks with me shooting for some time. I don't think I'd use them as a squib rod tho. I usually use them to help remove the firing pin stop on a 1911 or slide cover plate on a glock or to hold the firing pin down while replacing a firing pin stop. They also work well for pushing the extractor hook into its hole to remove it from a 1911. I also use them when cleaning guns to help scrape off stubborn burnt powder.
  16. I bet she gets those dishes and laundry done before he gets home from work next time.
  17. If you have a can of compressed air, like the ones to clean computer keyboards, just point the nozzle at the hole and spray. The ball will pop right out. You could put duck tape on the end of a stick to fish it out, or use a larg drinking straw and suck.
  18. If you think that is cool you've got to see the whole video. http://videos.komando.com/2009/06/18/african-thunderstorm/
  19. My sincerest condolences to you Flex.
  20. How did you fix it? I had the same problem and tried tightening all the screws but had no luck.
  21. I think this thread about transonic loads may be relevant. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...mp;hl=transonic
