  1. Stock 34, I think the spring is 17lb, anyone know the loading for s1000 with a 124 gr fmj? Read where 4.0 is max in some printouts, over that in others. Would like minor pf, major better. Sorry no chrony. Thanks
  2. Loaded 4.0 grs S1000, 124gr full metal, mixed brass, ww sp primer, 1.125 oal. out of stock 34, 3-4 out of 10 would short stroke and fail to load the next round. Anyone have advise on this, cause and fix? Thanks
  3. Called Dillon today, they said H110 could cause problems due to the fact that it is so fine grained, could get into the powder bar works and gum'em up. No other problem powder.
  4. I use cob, same size as corn meal, comes treated and untreated, add a little flitz tumbler additive to restore, when done tumbling, pour in a plastic lettuce drainer in a plastic tub and shake. Never clogs fireing pin holes and cleans good.
  5. 30 cal ammo cans for practice, 100 rd plastic ammo holders for matches, ziplocks for test rounds.
  6. My 16" middy 1/9 shoots everything great, up to the 77 grainer, then the group opens up an inch more at 100yds.
  7. Watched the state IDPA (OK.) match last Saturday and noticed most were wearing a light tan colored vest. Unfortunately my time was limited and I didn't get a chance to ask what brand they were. Any reccommedations? Thanks
  8. So it looks like .4 grs of TG 3.8 to 4.2 in the 34 using 124's equals roughly 137 fps. Guess pressures can build quickly on the top end. What is usually the max for TG with 124's? I have 1k of the hornady 124 fm fp's.
  9. Regarding a previous post where it was stated that dillon recommended not using AA5. What would be the reason for this? I use it alot with no problems. Anyone chime in? Thanks
  10. Just picked up a 34 and looking to buy a comp tac holster. What is the model most used for competition, and the best place to buy one. Comp Tac tells me it would be two weeks till delivery. Thanks
  11. I bought a small stencil set, and used a little duracoat. Works good, and lasts.
  12. "As I was reading through the topics last night, I discovered one member's post that described a call to Dillon where the service person recommended not using AA5 - and that got me thinking. Now retired, I've recently returned to reloading after a ten year absence. I have a bunch of powders I haven't tried in the 550B and it would be interesting to see what others think about how the various powders meter through the 550B. " So what is the problem with AA5 and a Dillon?
  13. I hear it, but still think they have more important things on the agenda than screwing legal gun owners over right now, I think? But who knows?????????????? I hope they dont! They're not gonna try to get the guns from the crooks, so who does that leave, legal gun owners. Check your history, Germany, Australia, Canada, England, and so on. It will happen here.
  14. Not a dillon tumbler, but along the same lines. I have a dillon d terminator electronic scale. Won't run on a 9v battery anymore, only ac. Called dillon, warranty is out, they would replace it for something like $90 bucks. Kept in house, controlled enviroment, used little. To me, a no BS warranty should be just that, no BS, electronic or not.
  15. case gauge small base dies tumble lube off Lee factory crimp die, if preferred primer pocket reamer to insure primers seat all the same and below the base high primers, murphy's law, floating firing pin, always has the possibility (though small) of a kaboom of the pants wetting kind.
