  1. Another thing to keep an eye on is how clean your mags are one piece of dirt in a mag can cause a nose dive. When I drop a mag in the dirt I clean it before using it again. I would not use the barrel as a case gauge the problem isn't the round going into the barrel its how tight they are stacked in the mag. If your having trouble with nose dives than use Cha-Lee's formula. For anyone that doesn't have nosedive issues than do what works (if it aint broke don't fix it).
  2. I have the clunky match that Charlie was talking about, I also have a limited. My match has the ugly sight which I would say is its only downfall, it shoots great and cycles fast, add a magwell and all the henning parts you can and you should have a gun thats 99% of what a tricked out limited is. It also seems there are alot of tanfo shooters that dont like the checkered front and back staps on the limited due to the larger grip, if you have medium to small hands then the match will proberably fit better. As for the bull barrel I would say its more accurate but wont make you a GM over night, it hasnt done much for me at least. Practice, practice, practice for me.
  3. Check out Rich's dealer forum he has some picks on there.
  4. Well everything else starts with H- like the mag pads H-550 and some parts start with Henning like the henning grips and the henning I fiber. How about the sinsight?
  5. last time I checked powder valley was all out of the zero flat points, I have also been running the zero 180gn JHP and have had good luck with them
  6. I asked henning about the extended mag release earlier this weak, don't quote me on this but from what I remember him saying is that its not worth getting, or maybe he has a plan for making one later on down the road. As for drilling out the factory mag release an option to try would be annealing the metal. I would also try and find a drill press to use, drilling it out by hand is about 10 times harder than with a drill press, either way use lots of oil or you will wear out the bit in no time.
  7. If you decide to shoot limited and dont want to spend too much at once than buy one 21rd mag and run your other mags as factory 15rd, most stages never go over 32 rounds. Then as money comes available upgrade the rest. FWI I run one 21rd mag and the rest are 18rd with H-550 pads, the H-550 pads are more comfortable for reloads but thats my opinion, I now others that would rather reload with a 21rd mag.
  8. Ill have to check it out. But honestly never had a problem with my .40 just using a Lee U-Die, even with glock brass. Leo I'm confused on another thread you wrote that you can only run 11-16 rounds in a 140mm mag, that sounds like a problem to me. Nose dives are also more common in the new chrome mags. The black mags (10mm) and the older chrome mags seem to work well. The gizmo is much cheaper than a roll sizer, and with the drilled out egw u die used brass is shrunk down slightly smaller than new brass. The resize die that came with the gizmo did not resize the cases enough to be able to run 21rds without nose dives (I am running all new chrome mags).
  9. I bought the holster used and it did not come with any spare parts. I will have to call the guy I bought it from and see if he has the other tension block. Thanks for the link to safariland I looked through there website but somehow missed the tension blocks. Thanks for the help.
  10. I've been shooting a match 40 this year with a modified safariland model 012 (setup is for a 1911). I had to widen the lower plastic bracket were the front of the slide sits, tanfo slide is wider than 1911. I also had to drill and tap one more adjustment hole due to the shorter slide. After the two mods the holster works great, its fast and even with the tension screw all the way out I can't get the gun to fall off I've tried, with the tension screw tightened the gun won't even move I have to fight to get it out. All in all I really like the holster. So here is the Question the match has a rounded trigger guard and the limited has a square trigger guard, My limited is on order and hopefully will be here in a couple of weaks. I've tried the limited in my holster and it doesn't work right rather than buying a new holster can I order the trigger guard catch made for a square trigger guard and swap them? I would rather not modify the one for the rounded trigger guard because it works so well. Also if replacing the catch is an option who/where would be the best place to order the replacement parts from? Any imput would be great thanks Matt

    Which one?

Tanfoglio, No comparison steel vs tuperware Open or limited?
  13. There is more info on page 9 under witness match jams try reading through some of those
  14. Those are some nice colors, except the pink... Oh wait you don't still have the pink grips on your gun do you henning?
  15. Very nice looking toys! I agree with AZGunut there are way to many tanfoglio's that are not imported here, I suppose if you realy wanted a stock 2 you could buy a limited take off the magwell buy full length girps and a double action trigger and you would have one. For now I wish that eaa could get in the guns that they do import, I've been waiting for a limited since the first of november and its the same story every week "Its on order". So for now its a trick out Match for me.
  16. The checkered grips are thin and they should feel better in your hand than the wood grips, possibly better than the gold team grips. Buy a set from henning and chances are you will want a set for your other gun. The smooth henning grips and the checkered grips should be the same thickness, if you want to add finger groves, grip tape, or any other personalized mods than buy the smooth grips.
  17. What about the spring on the right hand side that holds the slide stop in place. On my gun that sring holds the slide stop pin in place and keeps the lockback button down.
  18. If it were mine and I had two slide stop pins I would trim the old one and see if you can get it to work. Magazines can cause lockback problems as well, have you tried all of your mags.
