  3. +1@! LED TV's rock the house. The contrast ratio is just ridiculous. Anyway... It all depends on what your using the TV for. You also need to consider the source and how it was filmed...especially with LCD TV's. Frame Rate/Refresh rate becomes an issue. For example... "Film is shot using 24 frames per second whereas video is shot using 30 or 60 frames per second. For the video it's no problem displaying this smoothly on a display that operates at 60 Hz because the number of video frames divide evenly into the display's refresh rate. e.g. If the video you're displaying has 30 frames per second you simply display each frame twice. However, if your source is film with 24 frames per second you can't directly map the film frames to the display frames. To get around this they use a technique called 3:2 pulldown. In a nutshell, 3:2 pulldown is an algorithm that displays some of the frames 3 times and some of them twice in order to map the film's 24 fps to 30 fps. The downside of 3:2 pulldown is it introduces motion artifacts. This is mostly noticeable in fast moving scenes or pans - you may see blurriness, choppiness, etc." If your using the TV to watch Blu-Rays and have a player that puts out 1080/HD...I'd go with the best you can get. You'll notice the difference between 60/120hz tvs since the frames of the source divide evenly into the refresh rate of the TV. I guess what I am saying is figure out what you want to use the TV for and then get the best you can afford. It's like guns. Figure out the right tool for the job and buy the best you can afford...You always end up paying more in the end to get what you really want.
  4. Riiiiiiiight. I'm gonna come back and still be able to catch your turd butt. I'll practice leaning around tree with a rucksack on just so I can come back and spank you! I wonder if that would help keep me awake --Lanzo
  5. So...less than 3 months since I picked up an open gun for the first time...bumped to B. Two Majors with an open gun so far... 2009 A6 -- 2nd C class by less than 1 percent ; 44/81 in Open ; Highest Stage Place (26/322) ; Lowest Stage Place (64/322) ; I couldn't find overall. 2009 AL State -- 1st C class ; 17/33 in Open ; 33/108 overall. I've got one Master and one High end A (less then a percent off M and it was my first time EVER shooting any open gun) classifier. Bombed the others. LOOK OUT....I'M COMIN' THROUGH! Don't anybody worry though...when I go to Ranger School soon I'll lose all the skillz and have to start over...3+ months with no trigger time Ha...just kidding. I'm nothing to bragg about, but I'm having so much fun with Open. I couldn't do it without my buddies who let me experiment, film, load ammo, and shoot with their equipment. You guys are the best! Being in this sport and meeting/shooting with all of you has been the greatest thing i've done in my life so far. Expect maybe the first time I had...nah...this is better --Lanzo Side note....In my best Bruce Willis voice, "Now I have a Quinn Mount!" It's on biat#%es!
  6. FLEX, No man. You're good. I'm not tiffed at all. Just been busy with work and what not. If I can handle the guys I shoot with every weekend your slim pickin's Appreciate the comments from everyone...including you Flex. I've got a ways to go, but right now i'm mostly concerned with just having fun with it. I'm headed to a long Army school soon that will put me 3 months (if I make it straight through) off a gun/real exercise program so I am going to come back much worse. Hopefully I don't taper off too much, but the lack of a legitimate exercise/nutrition plan is going to hurt me pretty bad. I don't even get time to practice really right now (mostly my own fault I guess...you can always find time for something if you want it bad enough), but I don't worry about it to much because I know I'll have so much time off the gun I'll probably lose whatver I gain in the next couple months. I've been shooting less than a year (my first match was maybe 8 months ago or so), open for only a few months (less than 3), and I'd say i'm pretty happy with where I am. RIght at Top half in Area 6...first major ever...(2nd in C class by less than 1 percent), Top 1/3 ( 33 out 105), 1st C class at AL state with several GM's present. The video of me on stage 3 was a 7th overall time. I was less than a second off the GM that got fiurst I think. I've got a couple really good classifiers where I was bookin it (one M and one 2 percent off M...that was my first classifier ever with an open gun...actually...my first time ever shooting a match with and just shooting an open gun period. I just picked it up and rolled with it. I had never shot it before that weekend. EVen my gear was combined from like three other people and the belt wouldn't fit so we had to put small velcro strips around it to hold it up). The only thing I need to really figure out is how to find a way over taking a break in the middle of a match. I hate it...always shoot worse when I come back. Once I get back i'm going to RIP my way through the ranks of this forum!

    Comp unscrewing

I've gotta try that....the comp on the gun I use has come loose a couple times. Thanks for the input. Anybody know where to get it? Price? --Lanzo
  8. Okay boys...and maybe some girls ...this is my first attempt at becoming a internet celebrity. I put a few stages up from the 2009 USPSA Alabama Sectional Championship. Be prepared to be unimpressed! I'm rated a "C" shooter and this was my second major. I did win the class though. 33 out of 105 or something like that overall. I finished 7th overall on the stage 4 run. Had a few issues at the start of 2, had some kind of brain fart in the middle of 3, and 5 was just rough. I put that one up because I liked the transitions. Anyway...I just thought it would be fun to put some stuff up and have everyone pick apart my shooting. Lots of room for improvement. If your B or A open watch out...i'm coming! 2 -- 3 -- 4 -- 5 -- Side note...I know I look retarded in the movies. I need to stand up straighter or something! --Lanzo

    HELLZ YEAH!

Hell, by the time I get there i'll have to go to RGR school and I'll have to start all over again. As far as your daughter goes...see the above post. --Lanzo
  10. Lanzo

    HELLZ YEAH!

Sometimes, it's good to be King. You guys are going to get it. Besides...Mark...you can't take it back if I don't give it to you Of course...i'll still be screwed because i need bullets. I could go back to .45 I guess. Hell...Alan would let me reload. He's going to be my father in-law soon
  11. Lanzo

    HELLZ YEAH!

I know Kevin is wanting to shoot it....and I was thinking about it....but it seems pretty far for me. But then again...i'm getting so addicted i'm sure I'll go. Good luck at Tallahasse Sat! --Lanzo
  12. Lanzo

    HELLZ YEAH!

Besides ...we both know you're the better gun...I'm just a little ol' "C" shooter. Congrats on the top finish buddy! --Lanzo
  13. Lanzo

    HELLZ YEAH!

Fair enough. But the gap was only 8 percent and I bombed my first stage (3) and you got me by 20 on that one. If I make it to AL State I guess we'll have to square off there Good luck if I don't see you! --Lanzo
  14. Lanzo

    HELLZ YEAH!

Got my First stage win in! Got it on a 28 round field course with an open blaster. Just a local match, no huge deal, but I beat out an A and 36 other damn good shots. I placed 2nd overall. I'm just pumped I can finally say I've won a stage. Now...if I just could get a match win in... I shot an 88 percent classifier as well, but I'm not to sure how excited I am about that one. Boz...i'm comin' for you! Great shooting with everyone. Look foward to the next time. --Lanzo
  15. Should be able to pick it up at your local gun shop....I don't really think it's a "speciality" item or anything. It's where I get mine usually. --Lanzo
  16. I saw earlier that the highest chrono was 195...anybody know who had the lowest that made it? I know mine was the closest as of Friday. 165.2 baby!
  17. They can't be transferred like that. Besides, I assume we're talking 2010, there's plenty of time. Bobby...oh how true it is! She did earn it...props to Susan! Like Boz said...i've got some time. We'll see what happens. I think once someone deny's a spot it goes back into the pot and after they've called everyone on the list people on the waiting list get the slots in order. Don't really know though? Nationals really isn't a huge deal to me, I just think it would be pretty cool to earn a spot and actually shoot the match even if just to get last place. Earning/going to Nationals is an accomplishment. Susan should go tear it up! --Lanzo
  18. I sir...am a jackass. I'm sure that guy is fast too though LMAO --Lanzo yea...I'm not quite on his level just yet.. ..and a few years his junior, but I did walk away with 3rd in my division! Ha. Well...no worries. Anybody who knows me knows i've always been absent minded. Nice job! Same as I meant to say to him goes to you as well. Good luck! --Lanzo Ben, We used to call that stepping on our.....slide racker...with golf shoes. Amazing you shot so well with your tongue hanging out every time a certain female Team Glock shooter walked by....... Mark K P.S. As a limited shooter, I couldn't have better shooters to have "man crushes" on than Travis Tomassi, and Blake MIGUEZ Hopefully by next year you will be a B Open shooter.......With your own equipment! I step on my slide racker a lot As far as the glock shooter goes...yeah...i'm not going to deny it. Good thing we didn't actually talk to her probably. I've got a feeling I would've come out of that one sounding like a jackass..."Um...ah....eh...um...yeah...uh....my name is Ben..." over and over. I swear though...when she came back out of that bay after Sevigny shot for some reason she was the only one there and I swore I heard "Pur Some Sugar on Me" playing from somewhere...oops...did I just say that out loud Maybe if I outshoot her husband... I don't think so about the equipment. Maybe I'll be borrowing the Army's by then As far as Nationals go...you and Alan would drive me of course.
  19. Hey there! I talked to you a bit but never really introduced myself at A6. My name is Ben, but everyone calls me Lanzo. Anywho...I was curious what software you use to blend the hat cam with regular video. I really like it and would like to try it myself. Good job ROing as well. It was stage 3 or 4 right? I remember the stage, just not the number. --Lanzo
  20. If it's a 9 you can shoot it in SSP or ESP. The trigger work (provided it's the same type of trigger as factory -- only matters for SSP), grip tape, and FO front sight don't disqualify you from shooting either SSP or ESP. Any more and you'd be better off shooting ESP I would think...that way you know your safe. You can mess with checkering and replace the trigger and have an extended mag release, etc. If the gun is double action and you've only made the mods listed you should be good for SSP. Mags will be loaded with a max of ten plus one in the chamber either way. Best thing to do would be take it and ask when you get there. SSP or ESP, either way you'll have a good time. Remember...shoot to slide lock or retain the mag! Have fun. Good luck. --Lanzo
  21. Last time Mark, Kevin, Joe, and I went (a month or so ago) that's one of the first things I said was I was glad to be wearing sneakers. If it's in the same place I would say you'd be far better off with shoes. --Lanzo
