  1. sam we need to make sure Javier gets on squad 13 before it fills up
  2. I am going to try to do both but we will see how that works out.
  3. Now my question do you go to the irc or to the revolver nationals
  4. from facebook: OK, Here's the sccop from Match Director Chris Sallee: The 2013 IRC will be held at The Hogue Action Pistol Range in Moro Bay (San Luis Obispo) California. The dates are Thursday May 30 Thru Sunday June 2, the usual format. There will be 12 stages. Check here and the ICORE.org site for updates. looks like Kalifornia again....
  5. oh it will sell out... oh it will
  6. Look at the numbers for the irc. I don't have an answer as to why icore folks generally don't shoot revolver in uspsa. You would figure they would all own a six shot revo. Maybe there is no secret formula to increase participation at mixed division matches. I expect the revo nats to sell out, I imagine there will be enough closet revo shooters to get it done. I just hope none of the back bone revo folks get left out.
  7. i have also found that a bent moon clip can cause the same kind of issues.
  8. let me revise my statement: At matches that your division isn't recognized due to low participation the match should be discounted. I know of two matches this year that I would have attended and would have been the only or the other revolver shooter but was not willing to put forth the cash for travel and match fees just so I could shoot more challenging stages. They did an outstanding job with the awards at nationals recognizing 2/3 rds of the competitors in our division. I would like to see a combined overall just to see how well the bottom 3rd (i.e. me) of the division did against the other divisions. I have never really gotten into stage design as I don't have a local club. It would be a challenge to make it fair for 6 major and 8 minor . I wasn't implying 6 shot neutral but it would have to be done in such a way that shooting an 8 shot wouldn't be such an advantage that it couldn't be overcome by 6. What would need to be implemented to insure more intricate stage design to allow even the SS/L10/pro shooters multiple options on how to shoot a stage?
  9. My thoughts: It would be fun to play with an 8 shot limited gun at a uspsa match. But I don't think that would bring any more people to a combined division match then there already is. It takes more work to shoot revolver. it's harder to reload, you actually have to think and shoot. I don't see 8 shots making a numbers impact. plus stage designing that would cater to a handful of people to make it fair for the 8/6 shot thing would be crazy, especially if it only benefits the smallest faction of the shooters. I think the fastest way to gauge interest in the revolver division is just what's going to happen, a stand alone revolver championship. can we fill 140 slots at this match? I think we can. leave it at 6 and offer incentives for people to shoot revolver. Is it fair to ask the smallest division to pay the same amount at the larger divisions when we don't get the recognition and our prize tables are typically made up from left overs of the others? maybe offer a discount to the division to see if it can grow would that hurt to try?
  10. hardest match I have ever shot.. I had two good revo guys in my squad that made it fun... to bad all the revo's couldn't have been squaded together or at least able to see each other shoot.
  11. Blake also explained how important his parent role has been in his shooting career.....that impressed me the most

    Scores?

It was dark when we finished the first day and today.
  13. i think about 7 or 8 is average for icore and uspsa. for most people moons are faster than speed loaders. the 625 loads pretty quick so matching it with a 38 special speedloader fed gun is going to be a challenge but it can be done i.e. Josh Lentz.main thing is what do you want to accomplish? there are far too many people in this sport worried about keeping up with the other guy instead of just having fun.
  14. maybe to see if it brings more than a handful of people to an area match. i doubt it will happen, he didn't think the BOD was leaning that way. I feel he he just wondered if it would spark a revolver fire..
  15. Phil said he was pushing for 8 shots, we will see
  16. When I get back from nationals I'll take pictures of my full custom classic gun, 6" gp 100
  17. Fyi: it's an non-official state championship but still a revo match.
  18. Here it the info and a sign-up sheet for the State Revolver Championship Match in Duncan, OK on Nov 18th We'll shoot 7 challenging, 6-round neutral, stages. A Bar-B-Que lunch will be provided at the range at the end of the match. Cost of the lunch is included in your application fee. We'll have plaques for our winners in three divisions, Open Revolver, Limited Revolver (iron sights), and Stock Revolver (speed loaders). You can shoot any kind of revolver you like, (Snubby, Single Action, etc. bring what you got and shoot it). Holsters must meet USPSA rules and revolvers must meet USPSA caliber guidelines (.355 and above) and round count. This means if you have a revo that holds more than 6 rounds, you can shoot it, but you can only shoot 6 rounds before reloading. This match will be held in conjuction with our regular USPSA match so there may be other divisions participating but only revolvers will be eligible for awards. Squadding will be done on the morning of the match. Just let us know who you want to squad with and we'll do our best to make that happen within reason. There will be a chronograph stage so make certain your loads are correct and/or declare the proper scoring catagory. Print and fill out the form and get it mailed in as soon as possible so that we can get an idea of numbers for lunch and participants in each division/class. There needs to be at least five in a division/class for a 2nd place plaque. The form is in an earlier version of Word, so I hope everyone can open and print. Let me know if you need another version to be able to access. So Come ON! Anyone can shoot a bottom feeder with a 20 round magazine. Even if you only do it once this year, grab your revo and come have a lot of fun. Oklahoma State Revolver Championship.doc
  19. I agree, the big matches need to be in place at least two years in advance. like this years uspsa area 4 match, it should have been scheduled before the first shot of the 2011 area 4 was fired. I am fortunate to get ample vacation time and able to use it at my leisure. I realize not everyone has this luxury.
  20. I just recently heard about the flying bullet issue just recently. One would think contact or not if the range wasn't safe uspsa would relocate the event. I was hoping for more revo shooters but it appears there are plenty in my class to shoot against. hopefully I will enjoy my first handgun nationals. I am looking forward to the revo only nationals in 2013.
  21. what the hells a front sight.... lol
