The Pro has a different slide profile which is slightly heavier, comes with FO front sight, and Performance Center trigger. When I was deciding between the two I chose the 9L and added Apex components and plan on Ameriglo sights, very happy with my decision.

There are 2 versions of the RAM, the standard and the light version. The light has a different spring that is designed to work with the mag disconnect model M&P's, and as the name implies, it has a lighter tactile reset. You can remove the disconnect (google it and look for instructions from Dan Burwell or Youtube) but you'll still need a longer spring to fill the void left by the disconnect lever (found at Speed Shooter Specialties as Mag Safety Deactivation Spring). You'll also need a frame plug as It acts as a spacer and prevents the left side steel insert from distorting due to torque under recoil.

With 3rd Gen and older iPods you have to plug in the headphones provided with the iPod, they have a mic on them that pics up your shots. IPhones obviously have a mic built in. You won't hear the buzzer with any other headphones, not sure why. I believe 4th Gen's have a mic built in so they may work without the headphones, I'll check it out on my wife's new iPod. ETA: You can hear the buzzer without the headphones on. I use electronic ear pro but haven't tried it with EP3's or plugs.

The additional slide mass definitely aids in reduced felt recoil. My 9L points better than my FS .45 in my paws as well (not exactly apple to apples comparison but the addition 1/2 inch makes the difference for me). The Apex components have been a wonderful addition to mine. 2 dot Warren's are my next purchase for this pistol. I haven't fired the FS 9 in competition but I absolutely love my 9L so I see no reason to change.

Like stated above it depends on what you want out of it. Is it strictly a race gun? Or is a multi use i.e. competition/defensive? I've got a 16" JP that is an awesome race gun but I'm purchasing another upper to beat up in carbine classes.

I did a search and didn't see anything already posted on it and thought it might be worth starting a thread on. Vortex optics is coming out with a new 1-4x with Illuminated reticle. MSRP is $599 but I imagine the true market price will be lower. It "looks" promising and is feature packed. Hopefully it will be as nice in person as it is on paper. Vortex Tactical

Good input all. Brain thanks for your account with the TA33. Would you say that the rifle balances better with the lower weight and profile of the TA33? This may be a given but a first hand account is reassuring. Does the .5x magnification of the TA11 offer little advantage over the TA33 at a comparable range, say 300-400 yards? Xre, you're spot on with your synopsis of the TA11. It has been popular and I believe thats due to the fact that it has been around long enough to prove itself. I have wondered recently why the TA33 isn't more common amongst 3-gunners. The eye relief is reasonable, reticles are comparable to the TA11 for the most part, and its smaller and lighter. On the flip side it has a smaller FOV and slightly lower magnification. The FOV seems to be the deciding factor. I'm sure this is splitting hairs, thanks for the input gentlemen. Xre, to the best of my knowledge Trijicon produces the TA11H in red, it may be possible to retro the green fiber optic into it however.

The TA11 has proven to be a capable optic for 3-gun for some time but has anyone tried the TA33? I'm sure some have overlooked it due to its slightly lower magnification and smaller FOV in favor of the slightly heavier and proven TA11. I'm curious how the circle dot reticle of the TA33H-G will compare to the TA11's donut when applied to 3-gun. I certainly don't have the cash to sponsor a side by side comparison but maybe someone else already has. So, if you've used it or own the TA33, do you like it over the TA11, or vise versa? If you ever thought about purchasing the TA33 for use in 3-gun but didn't, why? I hope to spark some conversation and learn from the more experienced shooters on the board.

I bought a setup from an unnamed company a few weeks ago. Its was comparatively cheap at $55 shipped. It uses a bolt to secure the plate to the stand and after a couple hundred rounds the head stripped out and the plate fell off. The plate doesn't cover the holder either so its susceptible to missed rounds hitting it. With some minor improvements it'll work just fine but the GT targets look like an improved version for a bit more.

Looks pretty clean. Let us know how it holds up over the long term.

IOR Pitbull Reports from IOR are that this will be available with several mounting options, one being a twist off european style QD mount. Similar to the EAW mount. Also, the center dot (of a BDC reticle) is the only portion of the reticle that is illuminated and is 3-MOA (unconfirmed). It doesn't use a throw lever, rather a mag. ring like traditional optics. I'm excited to see initial reviews.
