  1. Bought Pro Ears, their best, and those are far superior to anything else I have ever used. Those Peltor's and Dillon, same mfgr, are a POS and waste of money. My hearing if far more valuable to me than going cheap. Buy quality, the best you can get, and cry only once. Otherwise you will cry many times.
  2. ACtually, I am not interested in reloading due to being over pressure in order to make major...and I get Georgia Arms to load 165 FMJs to make major and they gaurantee it...besides from years of competition in shotguns, I am more interested in shooting than spending a lot of time reloading and wondering....I show folks the box and they accept it...jsut like in SS or Limited...again shoot factory. I do not want to worry about making major...not a gamer...a shooter....
  3. I am presently having an open 40 built by Ron Phillips...using Caspian Frame...will put CMore sight on it as that is what I see mostly here in El Paso Texas...I want 40 as that is what I shoot in Limited althoghj my SS is a Baer 45acp...I wouldn't touch 9 or 38 as I want bang flops...seen too many shoot overs with 9s and don;t want the reloading problems of 38 supers/
  4. Sounds to me like a design waiting for an accident to happen...you stumbled into it and apparently felt so ashamed of the circustance you were compelled to DQ yourself...I agree the RO was remiss and the Shoot Master laid out a bad design...In restrospect I might refuse to do that run myself in such a circumstance...at least you could have gone on...but as you indicated a moments inadvertence with the holster snatch lock ...well you behaved admirably....Gracias a Dios....
  5. I sight in for 20 yards dead nuts on...and love to float my targets for closer shots...I hate a gun that shoots too darn low...I do not ever like to cover my targets...I always want full visibility....
  6. I would go with the gun you can always get a reloader...given the political risk at present, I would nail down the gun as quickly as possible....plus even though I reload and have presses already, I tend to buy bulk ammo by the 1000 for competitive shooting and reload only for practice...
  7. due to eye condition, need three dot white sights for my new CZ 75 TS...which otherwise seems to be a nice gun but the factory sights are abysmal to the say the least....thanks in advance...
  8. I use the S&A magwell with the arched checkered msh on my SS Baer and love it...would not want any bigger....would look incongrous I'm afraid...and throw the gun out of balance.
  9. Titanium is fine for strength and weight reduction but when joined up to steel you are asking for electrolytical problems in the long run that will loosen things up as effectively as the harmonics from shooting will. I would go with Stainless.
  10. I ama new shooter and plan on shooting SS for some time...the fact that it exists is why I am here.
  11. The shoot I went to this past weekend, two folks got hit by bounce back or splatter...most shooters were using FMJs...so maybe JHPs might reduce this a bit and thereby be safer in addition to causing less deposition in the compensator units that someone mentioned already......?
  12. I went to my first shoot this weekend, it was called IPSC-101 and found the course of fire somewhat disconcerting and moving around while shooting, indeed strange...for me in the Southwest desert I will not be dropping my magazines in the sand...although during a real gunfight I guess if I had to reload, the location of empty mags would not be a major concern...LOL...Really did enjoy the experience, although I can see where the rules will be a bit tedious to learn at first...so this weekend am going to an USPCA shoot and taking along 4 other friends to give it a try also...should be fun and I suspect addictive...I used to shoot skeet and that was addictive once I became AA in all guns... but it also got to be work...I hope this is not that way...I really do want to enjoy this sport.... Blessings....
  13. Was involved in first shoot this past weekend....saw race guns...and just regular shooters....but was impressed with the number of open guns that were 38 caliber of one sort or another...and also wintess many of these failed to knock over the targets...they would get ringers and turn sideways but not fall down...in regular shoots suspect this might be scored as a miss...? Therefore was thinking 40 might just be the way to go with heavier bullets but with a slow powder that still combusts and creates force up in the compensator.....Oh, I was useing 45acp and had no problems with bang flops. Thanks in advance...probably already covered somewhere but searched and could not find...
