  1. I remember shooting a parachute stage like that at the Linea De Fuego Sectional back in 1994 in Alpine (San Diego). They had it set up in front of a trap house so you jumped off hanging about 15 feet in the air - I had just started shooting and that was my first 'big' match. I'll have to dig around for some photos from back then. I do remember the straps knocked my earmuffs off when I jumped, luckily I was double-plugged (no reshoot back then).
  2. Will it fit a frame already cut and blended for an S&A magwell? And is an arched mainspring housing available? Thanks!
  3. Do you have your overall lengths with the 115 grainers? I just started loading 9mm again after 15 years (FMJ and 5.2grs WSF back in the 90s) on my 550 set up and the seater was set for 1.125; I've since seen anywhere from 1.10 to 1.150 listed for COL and want to check on what others are using. I'm shooting a SA 1911. Larry
  4. I read a long time ago, probably Massad Ayoob, the best defense load is to use whatever your local law enforcement uses, then there is NO argument about the cartridge itself in court.
  5. This has been asked before but not answered; will the new Ice Magwell fit a Para frame already cut (blended) for an S&A magwell? Thanks for all the work!
  6. Any chance of getting an arched mainspring housing? Having to weld up flat ones to fit my claws is a pain. And they look butt ugly too.
  7. Another Vote for a Para Ice Mag well, especially if it can replace a cut for an S&A!
  8. Looking for input and advice about the best ear muffs for long guns, specifically in 3 gun matches. I need to double plug; my old Pro-Ears Slims from the 90's just quit and they don't repair that model anymore. Thanks for your opinion!
  9. K, I figured it out. The problem was not the gun, but the shells. I have been practicing my speed reload over an over with the same shells, which has caused the rims to dish a bit, which has caused them to hang up on the shell stop. FN SLP still rules!! You're not practicing speed reloading with live rounds are you? What if you decide to 'dry fire'? Just ordered my FN SLP Mark 1. Thanks for all the contributions!
  10. I apologize for the hijacking - I didn't realize it got off topic so quickly. Sorry
  11. Glad this thread just started. I'm looking at moving up to a semiauto from a Mossberg 590; can I ask why the M2 with 21" barrel and not the tactical 18" versions? Also I ran across and older H&K M1 Super 90 for $850, measured a 19" barrel; would this be a good contender? (not unless it has a ribbed barrel, which I doubt) The 18" guns are essentially slug guns and they have no ribs. The 21" so you get a rib, not a blank barrel. 21" barrels come even with a +8 mag extension tube. You look at the target with shotgun-you don't need sights., it just takes a little practice with slugs and a fiberoptic bead and you have it. I'm comfortable with the ghost ring and white dot front sight on my Mossberg 590; are you saying I'd be faster (with practice) with a trap-like rib and bead set up?
  12. Can I ask Mr. Benny Hill what shotgun he uses?
  13. A 21" barrel because.........longer mag extension? What is a Nordic tube?

  15. I'm sorry but what is 'ghost loading' ???
  16. I have used SlideGlide for over 6 months and really like it BUT how do you keep it from making such a mess in the chamber/breech area? Does that really hurt anything? It apparently squeezes over the hood from the upper lugs and from underneath the ramp. I've tried racking then wiping with a patch and my little finger over and over but it takes 20-30 minutes to get it all, and after actual firing more seems to get in. Any suggestions?
