  1. Wow.... great to see everyone had a good time! Makes all the work worthwhile! Two full long days of setup, then shooting on Friday ( a bit warm but not too bad ), then we had two GREAT weathered days to host everyone else shooting. Turned out perfect. It was good to see everyone and get to meet some new folks as well. John's Mudbugs&Beer idea was incredible. T'Beaux can cook up a mess o' bugs, eh? Getting the goodies out on the table Sunday was a bit hectic under the time frame but once again, folks jumped in and made it happen!! And everyone got some goods, that's what matters most. haha It always seems to work itself out. It is awesome working with all the people we have on this match.... everyone pitches in and makes everything work out. They are awesome! Hope your visit on Stage 9 (Have a drink on me) was enjoyable as well!! Thanks for all the comments and hope to see ya'll back again next year!!
  2. Woohoo! 15th Anniversary Crawfish Boil !!!!!!!!!!! It just keeps getting better and better.
  3. Looks like maybe those two lighter colored walls are soft-cover. ?? Whoops.... I shoulda hit refresh before I replied.
  4. Hooooold on a minute.... we are being restricted to only seven? lol Not sure I've met Drawand Duck, but probably need to..... Going to be an awesome weekend for all !!!!!
  5. Getting all stoked up!!! Ready to leave Friday after work.... 1st time going to this one..... can't wait! See ya'll there
  6. I can't wait to see everyone! Heading to Arkansas this weekend.... Then less than two weeks till I start my 'vacation' from work to begin working on the match with the rest of the folks down here!!! Naturally.... you will have more fun on OUR (Danny, Doc and myself)stage than all the others ... but they will all be a BLAST I assure you!! Bring your shorts, rain gear, winter sweater and whatever else you can think of.... cause you never know what the weather will be here in MS ... .and prepare to have a great time.
  7. So after the match this past Sunday, Bryant put together a 'top shot' type of stage for us to shoot. Super setup and a lot of fun.... Here is a clip of Pat "Bwana" DeBerry facing off with the ever elusive balloons..... Enjoy. I know we did. Bwana and the Balloons
  8. Dang'd ol' Top Feeders....
  9. I ran into this when I first started back reloading for my 5.56/.223. Look a the shoulder area real close. Mine were bulging/squashed out some and therefore preventing chambering or if they did chamber, sometimes they were extremely tight. I pulled my die, cleaned and then went through the setup procedure again. And also made SURE I was adequately lubing the cases. I just reloaded a couple hundred and had 3 do it, but I account it to me not having any/enough lube on the casing. This is what I experienced but there are many more here more experienced and will have plenty of info for you I am sure. Here is a pic of two cartridges.... one of right is good... .one on left is one of my earlier ones that is OBVIOUSLY messed up. It's extreme but that gives you one idea of what to check. Sorry it's a bit blurry.
  10. I am green with envy. You have inspired me!!! I am going to move Eddie's cage (Ball Python) to the other side of room. Actually.... need to get a bigger one or construct one. And that leaves me about 10ft of brick wall to attach to.... Just built a bench when I built my man-room, but looks like I have way outgrown it already. And like I said.... I'm have bench envy. lol Current Bench...
  11. I agree. My first thoughts.... how sad that they are so driven by being PC that the patients there will ultimately not reap the benefits. Well.... you tried.
  12. Maybe expense? I've often wondered that. Although.... there is one fella that shoots w/ us at times.... with his HK. I told him last time I was getting more and more tempted to get a few more mags and holster/mag holders and shoot my USP45Tactical!! I love the pistol and it'd be.... uh.... 'different'.
  13. All I can say is..... WOW. I think I can speak for Danny & Doc when I say Stage 7 thoroughly enjoyed the match! I think we only had to remind folks to paste ONE time this year. Seems like a small thing but makes a huge difference. Everyone that came through our stage was super fun and seemed to have a good time. It was a great time! There is so much that goes into one of these matches, it never ceases to amaze me. John does a great job of keeping all of us 'helpers' focused and in the right direction. It's awesome how smooth is seems to run. It is a pleasure to work with such a group as this! Oh.... and hats off to Matt Moorer!! Mr. Fixit. The only thing I would change (but not possible and keep things moving enough to complete the match) would be to have a little more time with each squad coming through to visit and get to know them. The little that I did get to visit with everyone was great!! I really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing some familiar faces as well. Can't wait to see ya'll next year. Sincerely, The tall, bald headed, ear ring wearin', winder likkin', kilt wearin, cigar smokin' RO. Range is clear!!
  14. Pat, I will bring some manly beer. Perhaps I will go raid Tray's home brew stuff too!! Miller Lite? Perrier? Same thing. Ordering some cigars as well.... Looking forward to visiting w/ everyone! Pat... .or someone local..... can ya'll come over one afternoon and maybe help me clean out my reloading room?
  15. Only a few more days left!!!!!!!! Woot Woot!!! Already got all my gear out..... planning what to bring...... etc etc This is gonna be a lot of fun ya'll. Can't wait to see everyone on stage 7!!
  16. I think everyone will have the most fun on stage 7. I hear the RO's for that stage are great. Lookin forward to seeing everyone!!!
  17. I am fired UP about this year's match!! There is talk of having a 'gathering' after the days shooting ceases, possibly cooking out on site and having some off the cuff entertainment (stay tuned for THAT one). I think this would be great so everyone could mingle and visit and meet new friends, other than splitting up and going to various restaurants. The prize table is excellent so far and we have a month to go!! That is a tidbit for all you other greedy folks like me, that like to get kewl stuff!! Can't wait to see all of ya'll come through our stage. We promise to make it an eventful and memorable stage for you. hehehehe Ya'll come on down! Or Up! Or sideways..... whatever it takes to get here!
  18. Glad to see you getting back. I too, took a hiatus (sp?) from IPSC some time ago. What part of MS are you in?
  19. I am a bit bias probably, but... if you shot the Glock and feel that comfortable and are accurate with it after just one session..... I think I'd give it a run for the money. Different pistols fit people differently and not everyone likes the same thing. Meanwhile you are looking at half the cost. And if you want to save the money on that trigger, I believe you could do just as good buying yourself a dremel and a 3.5 lb connector. Takes a little time and patience but I don't see a huge feel difference between the expensive drop-ins versus the ones done by the shooter. That's just my .02 though. If you liked that Glock like it sounds like..... give her a try!!!
  20. I am shooting the 147gr 'black bullets' in my Model 17. They get loaded with VV N340 and are running a little over 900. A lot of folks are using the N320 but I started out with the N340 and it seems to work fine for me. Not quite as 'snappy' in my opinion, but some like it. And I have it on good advice that the same load will work PERFECT in my SBR 9mm AR I am building. and just for your amusement 'zhunter'..... I flicked at that bug twice on my monitor.... your icon..... Too funny
