  1. I didn't realize that they were making 45 ACP with small primers. I don't load a lot of 45 but just ran into this. It took me a minute to figure out what was going on when the primer wouldn't seat. Oh well, guess I'll put them aside and use them if I get at least 100 pieces of this brass.
  2. Man, a shotgun called the Chainsaw. That's enough to make anyone run for the hills
  3. Is your new gun still pretty tight? I have a new custom 1911 that was doing the same thing. It would run fine with factory ammo but would not run any of my reloads. I would case gauge using the barrel and they would be fine. What I finally found was that my reloads weren't strong enough to properly cycle this tight new gun that hasn't really been broken in. My reloads would make major power factor out of my other single stack. I bumped up the powder a couple of grains still staying away from maximum charge, and it ran fine then. Just something else to think about.
  4. I've seen the 1.090 OAL listed for that bullet but I have never loaded below 1.125 OAL. My standard load for my Glock 34 using that bullet is 3.9 grains of TG at 1.135 OAL. As has already been mentioned, use your barrel as a case gauge.
  5. Thanks for the responses guys. I did ask around at the local club but didn't have any luck.
  6. Hey Revo shooters, I have an original model S&W 610 that has a ported barrel on it. I also have the original barrel and would like to have it re-installed so that I may use this gun in USPSA. This gun already has a trigger job and chamfered cylinder. Should I contact Smith and Wesson to get this done or is there a better Gunsmith to send it to? I wasn't sure if Smith and Wesson may undo some of the mods if I send it to them for the work. Thanks

    Clever Scam

Clever Scam - taking advantage of older men Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. This will only become more commonplace down in Florida this winter. A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Lowe's, Home Depot, or Costco customers. This one caught me by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends. Here's how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking 20-something girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds. You agree and they get into the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet. I had my wallet stolen June 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also July 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 28th, three times last Monday and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant. P. S. Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found cheaper ones for $1.99 at K-Mart and bought them out. Also, you never will get to eat at McDonalds. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth to Lowe's, Home Depot, and Costco.
  8. Thank you very much Sharyn....looks like some good stuff
  9. I'm pretty new to Mafia Wars and could also use some members. Rick Blankenship Centerville, OH blankyrick@woh.rr.com
  10. Can't wait.....never experienced the cooper tunnel or the shaky bridge.
  11. Thanks for setting up this class Fran. I really learned a lot and would definitely recommend this class to others. I hope to get over to the monthly shoot in Circleville a couple times before the state match.
  12. I also received 15k of Federal SPP last week from Graf and Sons. Man, was I glad to get those.
  13. Thanks guys. Looks like FedEx will be dropping off my present tomorrow. I was finally able to score 15k of Federal SP Primers. Thank goodness, I was getting really low.
  14. Nice match today. The weather was great except we could have used a little less wind. Great job Gerald.
  15. I load 4.8 gr. at 1.18 OAL, mixed brass and Winchester small pistol primers. This was chrono'd at 40 degrees and gave me approximately 170pf. I will chono it again when the weather is a little warmer.
  16. Thanks for the input. I know that it is .330 wide with a depth of .075. I am not sure how to determine the angle of degrees but it looks like the norm is 65 degree for that size of dovetail cut. I am going to order the DP front site that is 0.330x0.075x65 deg Dovetail. Hopefully that will work for me.
  17. I shot 100 rounds of 180gr factory ammo today Rem & WWB , I used 7 new mags and had 3 FTF that only required a light bump on the back of the slide. I don't think that is to bad for the first time out. Time to work up a new load I am going to try to post some pics... Might try AOL's between 1.180 and 1.20 most 40 S&W 2011's will feed that length. Nice looking blaster and that is a really nice looking display platform. I recently bought a 2011 after shooting Glocks for sometime. I still like Glocks for carry and production but man that 2011 is a fine shooting platform.
  18. Guys, I recently picked up a SVI Infinity to shoot in the limited division. It has a FO front sight that is .120 wide and I wanted to install a new one that is .100 wide. I picked up a DP sight (P/N 020-020) for a STI/SV Heinie. I was able to get the old sight off relatively easy with the punch that they include but my dovetail is to wide (front to back) for this sight. This sight is approximately .305 wide and my dovetail cut in the slide is approximately .330 wide. I am not very familiar with the different dovetail cuts but I think that I need to order one for a Novak style. Does that sound correct? I just don't want to end up buying 5 different sights before I get the correct one.
