  1. Where is the go to website(s) for parts and upgrades?

Here are a couple links to help:

    http://czcustom.com/

I would suggest one of the CZ's without the firing pin block. They are easier to work on. Your choices are a Shadow, CZ85 or a Pre b version CZ75. This last link is for the disassembly of a Shadow. If you have a FPB the firing pin is retained with a roll pin rather than coming apart like a 1911. The sear cage has an extra spring and lever which make it kind of a pain.

  2. 2012 build

should be action job with CZ comp hammer, 13# main, 11# recoil, SS guide rod

LPA style adjustable rear sight, .125 wide front with 1mm FO rod. Some models had wood grips, then build went to aluminum grips.

may or may not be ext firing pin.

if you take it out. and its kind of grey color with a flat running the length. its factory.

Here is a picture of the firing pin. It is blued, no flat and is slightly longer than 2.5". Is that a stock type or extended?

  3. Hi,

I just picked up a used CZ Shadow Target. The CZ Custom test target is dated from 2012. It is a one hole group by the way:) This is my first pistol from CZ Custom though I did run a stock SP-01 for a while with springs and sights. Can someone describe what I have here? Is this a factory gun? If not what custom work does CZ Custom do to these? I will add pictures when I get home. The condition is excellent, I would say a 1000 rounds or less.

Also, whats up with the spring in the box?

    Thanks in advance,

  4. i notice some users are suggesting the PPQ, my local gun shop has the PPQ in 9mm, the question i have now, i notice there are some trigger kits out there for the XDM, are these a better overall trigger than the PPQ, and a few users suggested the PPQ M2 i never saw one, but as i was saying my wife has small hands, does the M2 have the same grip as the standard PPQ, so what i would like to know will the aftermarkets kits for the xdm equal the PPQ trigger. one of the reasons i overlooked the PPQ is the excessive slop in the slide at the muzzle end,

    Chet

Just a note about the slop between the slide and frame. The sights are on the slide. If the barrel locks up tight in the slide and in the same place each time the pistol will be accurate. This is true unless you are running a sight (scope) which is mounted on the receiver (frame). YMMV

  5. 4.6-4.7 N320 at 1.135 will get you about 175 or 180 pf. I'm not sure what barrel you are using but you can play with the powder charge to get it right for you. I was using a 180 grain extreme bullet.

My results from the following data:

    74deg F, 66% Hum, 29.88 in, 0 Alt

    180gr Xtreme Plated RNFP

    4.7gr vv N320

    Fed. Sm. Pst.

    R-P Case

    1.135" COAL

Averages from 10 shot strings over CED Chronograph which has proven fairly accurate.

    Glock 24 (KKM Barrel) 888fps 159PF

    Glock 35 834fps 150PF

    Glock 22 819.6fps 147PF

    S&W M&P Shield 749fps 134PF

Basically, even in my 6" gun, it didn't meet major. I'd recommend a sold 930fps velocity for a 168ish PF or more. Probably start around 5.0gr and work up, pending barrel length and gun.

I would double check your scale. I have been shooting N320 for a few now and 5.0 in a .40 will be showing major pressure signs. My load that has chronoed at 3 major matches:

    Jan 28, 2015

Avg V Std Dev Max V Min V Avg PF Max PF Min PF

    965 11.2 978 944 173 176 169

    Minor Velocity: 694

    Major Velocity: 916

    Bullet: Bayou Bullet

    Bullet Weight: 180

    Bullet Caliber: .40

    Gun: Glock 35

    Minor Power Factor: 125

    Major Power Factor: 165

    OAL: 1.135

    Powder: VVn320

    What is your loads?

  6. Alma is correct in the design not sticking out. I would use this in a G35 for Limited Division. The Glock is pretty light already and for me feels a little butt heavy when loaded with 20 rounds of .40.

I will check out the long tungsten guide rod.

    Thanks,

    Keith

  7. I have an book on Glocks written in the 90's by Kasler. In it are these guide rods with a enlarged weighted end. With the Gen 4 the end could be larger. i would think this weight right out front would dampen recoild nicely. Here are a couple of pictures of pages from the book.

What do you guys think? Have you seen anything available like this recently? Does anyone still have one of these? How well does it

    work?

  8. Find a newstand or supermarket and you can see what you want in 5 or 10 minutes and save the subscription cost to buy more bullets, brass, primers and powder or buy stuff from Benos:)

    Here some sites I like:

    Then there is Hickok45 -->

  9. I have not seen it in my lifetime. But I have seen the pens where the live birds were kept at a local club. These pens were torn down many years ago. But My point is that live bird shooting was once an acceptable practice in the USA, California no less.

I am neither for or against it. I agree that the Enos forum is not for this topic.

Here are a couple of interesting links on the subject:

  10. I have a Buckmark I won at a match in Reno about 20 years ago. They gave stacks of them away at "Western States":)

Anyhow it is a great 22 pistol and has held up really well. I have loaned it out for several people to learn and shoot a pistol. It still functions well and shoots straight. I did have to detail strip it and clean it once:)

  11. For competition shooting I don't think there is a better entry level pistol than a Springfield Armory Range Officer. It was said before but get the 9mm if you plan to buy ammo since 9mm ammo costs so much less. The 45 RO is also a great pistol but 45 ammo is $$$ unless you reload.

My second choice would be the STI Spartan with the same caliber/ammo suggestions.
