  1. The trigger bar in my Gen 4 has the coating flaking off where it slides on the connector. This Gen 4 has the worst trigger on a Glock I have felt. So far I have tried swapping out every component except the trigger bar and housing.

I'm thinking the trigger bar may be the culprit. Is there any reason not to put a Gen 3 trigger bar in the gen 4?

I must admit I am tempted to just order a trigger kit from Vanek, DK or JG. If I do should I order Gen 4 specific or get one for a Gen 3? What has been your experience with swapping Gen 3 and Gen 4 trigger parts?

  2. On my Gen 4 the trigger bar plating is flaking off where it rubs on the connector. This causes the trigger to feel crappy because there is a transition from plating to no plating. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm going to order another trigger assembly (probably a Gen 3) but wonder if it will happen again?

I ran a heavier spring to slow down the slide and the brass stopped hitting the optic (RTS)

IT also gave better in battery lock up. i.e. stopping all my light strikes.

Try it! May help yours! ymmv

If your loads will run the stock recoil spring assembly that would be a good test. I'm running a couple of MOS Glocks and have only used the stock RSA. Just picked up a Jager extended guide rod and 13 lb spring so we will see how that affects ejection.

Gen 4 G34 & G35 - stock trigger and bar, 4 1/2 lb striker spring, reduced safety plunger spring, extra power trigger spring, Evo elite connector (takes patients and time to fit but worth it), wet sand all machine marks away and polished to a mirror finish on all contact points. Bye bye wall, more of a rolling surprise break, short reset, and always breaks under 3 lbs. Ive pulled the trigger on alot of other peoples overpriced aftermarket trigger setups and (in my opinion) was dissapointed in all of them.

Could you describe the "wet sand" a little? What grits of sand paper did you use? Is the "wet" part oil? Thanks in advance.

^ You got different weights. What else changed?

I did not find any of the combos good enough for me to consider them very shootable. They all stack up too heavy and release with a sproing that cause the dot or front sight to move unless I take a death drip like I'm trying to choke out the pistol. This hard of a grip creates too much tension for me to shoot very well.

All that said I like the feel of the OEM 4 1/2 pound connector the best while the TTI is close to it. I suspect with lighter springs and some polishing either of these will get to a workable level. First I will do the springs when they come in. Then the polishing including a radius on the safety plunger.

  6. So I laid my hands on a couple different connectors. I used the same Gen 4 pistol swapping in/out the different connectors in all the tests. I have the average of ten trigger pulls below measured with my Lyman digital trigger gauge. I measured all of these at the bottom of the trigger because it is easier to get a consistent placement of the gauge there:

    Stock Gen 4 - 5 lb 11 oz
    TTI - 5 lb 8.5 oz
    OEM 4 1/2 - 5 lb 7 oz

So the TTI connector dropped the pull weight only 2.5 oz and the OEM 4 1/2 connector only 4 oz.

Then I kept the same stock Gen 4 connector in the lower and tried 3 different stock gen 4 uppers:
    G17 Gen 4 - 4 lb 15 oz
    G17 MOS Gen 4 - 5 lb 9 oz
G34 MOS Gen 4 - 5 lb 11 oz ( this was used in all the above connector tests)

So using all OEM stock parts just changing the upper varied the pull weight 12 oz. So far the variation in the OEM pistols themselves have more variation than swapping out connectors. Plus even though the TTI connector is called a "3.25 lb" connector and the OEM a "4 1/2 lb" connector it does not mean you get that pull weight in every pistol.

Next up Wolff springs - "Warning not for duty use."

  7. Hey Glock shooters, do you leave the trigger stock? I recently picked up another Glock and am looking for another. I think the trigger is a little heavy for a range gun which is the intended purpose of my Glocks. My Gen 4 trigger feels like an over sprung staple gun right now?

If you mod the trigger what is your set up? Why do you like it that way?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I am still working on getting the leading down. I am running 124gr Bayou's (.358), but they look like they are running out or coating at about 4 inches. Not to mention other leading issues. Bell and crimp not an issue, HP38 (3.9gr), 1.130 depth.

I am going to pick up some Blue Bullets and give them a try.

Anyone ever add lube to coated bullets? I have about 800 left and don't want them to go to waste.

I suggest you try a heavier bullet (147) and less velocity with a cooler powder for less leading. Something like 3.8 grains of Unique has worked well for me in the past. Shooting 1000 jacketed bullets also might smooth it out some. For the jacketed get the 115 grain and load them hot for maximum smoothing.

  9. I have an opportunity to buy a full size Sig P320 chambered in .40 S&W here is California. Any P320 can be hard to find and pricy due to our dumb laws in this state.

I would prefer it set up in 9mm and with target sights. Is there such a thing as a P320 X-five conversion kit in 9mm? If not what would be the next best option for a 9mm range gun?

Also is there any market for a standard P320 full size conversion kit in .40 S&W?

    Thanks in advance,

    Keith

  10. I have had my 1050 for 20+ years. In the distant past I had a Lee Pro 1000 and a 550. The Lee was fine for .38 Special but broke often once I went to 9mm and .45 ACP. The I got the 550 and it was solid, I have no complaints on the 550 except in hindsight after using my 1050 so many years the 550 was real slow:)

If funds are an issue buy the 650 with no case feeder for now. Then get the case feeder later. If you can swing it the 1050 is worth every penny.

  11. Both set up exactly the same.

    nice...what rackers are those?

Those are SVI rackers installed by Mr. Postman! He did a great job and the turnaround was fast!

Can't wait to shoot them (tomorrow). Hoping I don't even notice them while actually shooting.

Just be careful shooting around props......walls, windows and such:)
