  1. I have an A5 buffer tube, a Kynshot RB5020SS buffer and a .308 flat wire spring.

My question is will a .556 flat wire spring work with my set up. What would be the pros and cons of the .308 spring vs. the .556 spring?

    Thanks for your input.

There are some models which will suit a K L or N frame from Speed Beez.

Also, hopefully that wild hair won't turn into the full blown revolver infection! LOL

Although I think that there are some very good "revolverologists" on this site!

Good luck with the new affliction. 🤣

    Yep, just what I need......a new affliction<LOL>

If you haven't already, post up your query on the revolver section of BE.

I will do this, thanks for the tip!

You can get Comp-Tac for a 4” K- and N- frames at Dillon Precision:

Comp-Tac has them on their website at:

    https://www.comp-tac.com/international-neutral-colors#make_master_ct=5520&model_master=6357&

Thanks for that info. I have copies of the Blue Press around here somewhere. I never saw the holsters, too busy with the pictures on the cover and reloading equipment.

  4. Hi,

I have a wild hair to shoot my revolvers more in my retirement years. I have S&W 625 and 67. But I need IDPA legal holster rigs for each. I have good belts I can use but need holsters for a 4 inch barreled 625 and 67 ( N and K frames as well as moonclip and speedloader holders).

Can you recommend makers for these?

    Thanks,

    Keith

  5. Just a note to update this. Today I got the repaired trigger back with a Warranty/repair record with the following info. Replace hammer, springs, hollow pins and box. Regrease/retest.

I already have a new CMC trigger in my PCC so I will try this in another AR. I also received some swag from CMC, see photo. Thanks CMC!

Thanks for the post. I have experienced this exact issue with my CMC PCC triggers. When mine get dirty, they do not reset. When I get a dead trigger, I can push it forward with my finger and it resets and will fire. Not conducive to good steel challenge times. As you, I very much like the trigger pull and quick reset of CMC triggers. I am interested to hear CMC's response.

Currently CMC has my original trigger. I waited until after Xmas to ship it, so they just received it. I will post the response when I get it back.

The new trigger and safety (I run an ambi 60 degree safety) are working fine.

@midvalleyshooter - I'm trying to figure out the Kynshot setup now.  I ordered a Taccom Super Feed barrel that has 5.25" of rifling and a shroud making 16" total length, paired with a Taccom short stroke bolt.  He says his 3 stage air system paired with a his spring spacer is similar to the Kynshot, but it's hard to not go with a Kynshot....although it's equally hard figuring out what I need. lol

I have no experience with Taccom. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

I had a carbine length buffer tube, 7.5 ounce weight and a traditional round .308 spring in mine and it jumped around some when firing doubles or bill drills. Changing to the A5 buffer tube, Kynshot 5020SS and the Tubbs flat wire spring really smoothed it out. Much less movement now. I'm still getting used to it.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

  8. OP There really are no bad choices of the ones offered. I started with a Ruger and it ran great. The better AR trigger system (IMO) lured me over to an AR9 build.

Mine has an Aero lower, Odin upper & bolt, Faxon barrel with integral comp, Smoke Composites handguard, A5 buffer tube, Kynshot 5020SS buffer and a Dave Tubbs flat wire 308 spring. My optic is a Holosun 510c and my trigger is a CMC. Currently my trigger is on its way back to CMC for repair/replacement. I like the CMC enough that I ordered another one.

I was amazed the difference the A5 tube, Kynshot buffer and Tubbs spring made. All good stuff.

  9. My response from CMC is to fill out the RMA return form and ship it to them for inspection. They provided a shipping label and are covering the shipping costs. I ordered a second CMC trigger to use in the interim. I have other AR's, so the spare trigger will not be wasted.

I have a cmc and a jp triggers in my PCCs, and they do get crudded up

When I clean them, I separate the lower, hold it over a bucket and blast the trigger group with ether CRC or Napa brand silicon spray and let it dry and relube

the carrier on those is acetone which strips away the crud and leaves a silicon film on the parts

I did send my cmc in for repair due to a broken spring, they fixed it and sent it back fairly quickly

also make sure you wear nitrile gloves, those chemicals are not good for you

Thanks, I will try the silicone spray.

  11. I have a CMC PCC trigger in my AR9 with an Aero lower. Fouling is causing the trigger to jam and it will not fire. Unburnt powder and gunk is getting in underneath and it is as if the safety is on when it is off. PCC wont fire. Then if I disassemble it and clean it thoroughly it works fine. To me it appears the enclosed style of trigger promotes this as the gunk collects and cannot get out.

Is there a PCC trigger that is more open in design yet still has a nice press and reset.

FYI, I like the press and reset on this CMC PCC trigger. But the fouling is happening with just a couple hundred rounds. I'm using Sport Pistol which is supposed to be clean.

I am open to any suggestions.. different trigger, powder or I could just detail clean it before every match.

    Thanks,

    Keith

  12. Good morning, I'm looking for a little help with a buffer question.  I'm wondering if the Kynshot RB5020SS recoil buffer will run in a carbine length buffer tube? I have read where people say it needs an A5 buffer tube. On the buffer package it indicates it "may require  a modified bolt in order to properly reset the trigger"  if run in a standard carbine buffer.

So it "may" work in a carbine buffer?

Either way what are the pros and cons of the carbine buffer tube vs. the A5 buffer tube?

    Thanks in advance,

    Keith

  13. Well I decided to skip PCC for this one and shoot Limited for this one local match. For me the hard left lean puts to much pressure on my back. Whether using the .45 degree offset SRO or transferring to the left side and using the 510c main dot I kinda suck on this Classifier. Especially with the  movement in the confined area and throw in a couple of reloads.

I am kinda new at the PCC game and a Super Senior. So I have a lot to learn and I'm not as flexible as I once was:).

    Best regards,

    K

    From the User Manual:

I have found, with my Pro Chrono Digital, that in certain lighting conditions I could get erroneous readings from reflections off of certain bullets.  My fix was to clamp an old pillow case over the diffusers which acts like a "shade tree" directly over the top and/or sides as needed.

Also, my SOP is having the center of the Chrono 10' from the muzzle of the pistol.

    👍

    Thanks, I will try that.

What was the distance from the muzzle to the first screen?  Unburned powder and/or shock waves from high pressure at the muzzle can cause misreads.  The recommended distance to the first screen is 15'.

Definitely closer than 15 feet. We were about 6' away. I will try it further out on the next range visit.
