  1. The next time you are talking to Pact ask them about software upgrade. You will have to send it back to them and it will cost a little bit but they will do it.
  2. I agree with Flexmoney. It is the top shooters that are willing to spent time with the other shooters and help them out that will better this sport. I have fond that if you find a top shooter that is willing to help you and you can spent time just talking to them about shooting you will instantly see an improvement. Them you latch on and ride their coat tails right to the top…Right Pat! (Edited by Michael Fletcher at 4:33 pm on May 26, 2001)
  3. My mother taught me: "don't get made, Get even."
  4. You might want to look at some of the posts in the 'Miscellaneous Questions' under 'Zen' Brian has posted some exercises for working on focus. One that Pat taught me is to watch you bullets going down range and through the target. You can look for it; you just have to except that it there and that you can see it. I find that it put you in a relaxed state. It prevents you from over thinking because if you think about it, you wont see it.
  5. O.K. So the weekend is over. So, Chris, did you shoot the steel match or not.
  6. There's nothing on my mirror...It's the only clear area in my truck!
  7. Now if we could only make the 'In' thing being using that mirror, we could all be happier
  8. I'm not sure jumping out of a plain is for me, but one thing I have always thought would be fun is low level, map of the earth flying. Some of my friend in the army have flown along river bad at high speed in a helicopter with the door open. I use to do some speed repelling. It amazing haw fast the ground can come at you.
  9. Its not just the dreamcatchers I hate. It all the crap people put on there mirror. Or in the back window. And what about the lace doilies on dashboards, headrests. some of this cars look more like the inside of a ladies washroom then a car.
  10. The first time I ever shot an open gun was at a Man on Man steel match. I had watched Pat practice on steel at the range and got hooked on the sound of steel getting hit. So I asked Pat if he could put on a match at the club. There was a lot of people that felt the same was. "What's it like, Will I enjoy it like IPSC." After the match everyone involved loved it. Even the guys that never won a string said they would be back in a heart beat. The part I like is that you are head to head against someone else. Theres no gaming out the stage. You either hit them all first or you lose. It the best match I ever shot and the biggest rush. You must go!!! You won't regret it. P.S. Pat we really need to look into putting another match on. Outdoor Team Man on Man. (Edited by Pat Harrison at 3:47 pm on May 21, 2001)
  11. How about V.I.P. membership cards that get us in to seceret places at matches. We could be like the 'Stone Cutters'. But I do like the idea of having shirts of hats avalible to the members with the 'Ancient' logo. Or pin and crests that we could put onto a range bag.
  12. Rubbing is racing. I'd never get on the highway in the morning if it wasn't for some of the NASCAR trick I'v picked up. Theres nothing like a good California stop to start you day. I am more of a fan of closed wheele racing. I would still like to get to one of these driving schools to sharped my skilles. Pat - We should look into going to the BMW school this fall.
  13. I was taught a similar method of relaxation, only you didn't count breath, you listed and counted your heartbeat. I use this technique all the time. From work to play. I find it helps relax me and helps me focus. Another one I use is for when you are in a crowd. Try to pick out one conversation in the crown and block out the rest. I am nowhere near perfecting this one. (Edited by Pat Harrison at 3:44 pm on May 21, 2001)
  14. You know, I but we could attract a whole new kind of shooter if we started offering manicures and pedicures at all the big matches. And then we could have fashion show for the upcoming season of new shooting wear. This could revolutionize the shooting sports.
  15. Touche` Pat.....The difference, of course is that we CAN see the box that we are in. The trick is how we get out of it. How Much Wood Could A Woodchuck Chuck...
  16. If your shoot a mime, do you need to use a silencer?
  17. Pat Harrison and myself have this conversation every few days. Seeing someone buy a beautifully setup gun (Open or Limited) then adding every expensive toy to it as soon as it comes out. Watching them throw shots everywhere but the targets. We have spent many of the IPSC match nights at are club watching the smoother, calmer shooter that spend there money on practicing out shoot some of are local Master and A class shooter because they throw money at the gun thinking it will make them better.
