Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Sorry, It mite be my fault. I have started cleaning up my forums. I have been missing from the forums for about 8 months. My job has me working afternoon shifts and I still do some work in the daytime. so I haven't had much time to play around and the computer, or have any fun at all. But it seems to be slowing down a little so I will be making the effort to spent some time with some old friend on the forums. As for the clean up...Well I am trying my best to only remove old topics with few replies and trying to keep around the one that look like they are still worth reading. Even if they haven't be replied to in months they mite still have a point. so if there is a topic you really want left around please let me know, because over the next couple of days I will be continuing the clean up.

    Memory

This really has nothing to do with shooting but...lol I was working with a friend the other day and she forgot a password for her computer. I tried to help by getting her to remember the evens around the day she set the password. Time of day, Whether, who she was with, What they where wearing. Just tried to jog her memory in hopes to recall the word. None of this worked. Is there a techniques for recalling past memories? And of course is could also help me remember how I did at last years matches!
  3. WOW!!! You sound like me...lol I worked at one of the gun clubs in my area for two years. And it was there attitude towards the shooter that made me leave. Every chance they got to destroy the joys for shooting, they took it. It's a god complex The Owners will come and go, Good shooters stay around forever.
  4. This makes me feel so good as a Canadian. we are always getting told joke about living in igloos and having snow all year around. I cant tell you the number of time I have see a car with southern U.S. plate driving around with skies on the roof in June. Well just to let you know I was working outside last week in a T-shirt and I was Thinking about cutting the grass again. Saturday night it snow but most of it has melted away now. And there no snow in the forecast. Maybe people will start coming up to Toronto in the winter to get away from the snow. LOL P.S. Just be happy your not suffering like Buffalo is. Now they have snow!!
  5. I have one for everyday of the week...lol I have my CRKT Apache II and my Benchmade Elishewtz for everyday/work knives. I have a small Beretta on my key chain. My dress Knives is a Benchmade ARES 730BT. And when I want to get my point across I use my Cold Steel SRK. And of course I have a Leatherman. I like to take that whole 'Always come prepared' statement to the limit.
  6. I'm on board for all the accessories; Tool heads, dies, spare parts.
  7. Last winter I don't think I spent anytime dry firing. However, I did spent a lot of time working on movement. When spring came I was slower with the gun but faster moving. Once I got the rust off the shooting I could see quite the improvement. All the movement drills can be done inside and year around but its something to get you through the winter. And I agree with Detlet, Sometime it good to take a rest.
  8. Well I think I like the second one better. Mainly because it works for my life too...lol But unfortunately I'm not getting to the range as much as I would like the past few weeks. How about: Shootin' once a week Kickin' so serious ass Who's your daddy now
  9. FIRE...FIRE...FIRE!!!! Should we be referring to Pat as 'Luke'?...'cause Luke never went over to the Dark Side.
  10. Nik: I think Pats trying to teach me the Dark Side of the Force...And I like it!!!! It's so much more fun over here! Kathy: Now that we know who you are and you know who we are...How about a USPSA Discount for members of Brian's site
  11. You have all the support from Canada as well
  12. Well I finally got my copy of front site. Flip right to the page with the big picture of Pat with the light saber. Looked like a lot of fun. I still waiting to see the video that someone keeps telling me about....But most importantly, Pat and I have been practicing together for some time now. He's been coaching me on the finer point of IPSC. He has yet to show me how to use the light saber. How am I suppose to become a Jedi Knight without the knowledge of the this ancient tool?
  13. It's not Christmas time, but have to go see Santa!!! Elmo and little green elfs. Joes cool, cool like Fonzy!
  14. O.K. Here's where I let everyone know how my last match went. But first some background on my shooting. I have been shooting IPSC on and off for the past two years. Haven't really been to many matches. Just the little club matches. Around this time last year is when Pat started showing me a new approach to shooting. I switch to open in Dec. 2000. But I didn't start shooting matches again until April of this year. Pat's been working with me and taking me to some bigger matches in the area. With the help of Pat and our friend Jeff, and of course this site, I shot the best match ever last weekend. Now we go into the bragging area of the post. I may not be a great shooter yet; I started the year (Year being April) as a mid leave 'C' shooter. My percentage at the match was 67.34%. Good enough to upgrade me too 'B' class. But the most impressive part of the match was stage 2. Weak hand only. I did have the fastest time but I did have the best points. Points good enough to give me the stage win. My first! And now for the sappy part. If Pat hadn't of brought me over to what he like to call the 'Dark Side' I probably would have given up on IPSC last year. But he showed me how to have so fun well shooting and my score are going up every match. But the best part is that I am almost doing as well as the two people that where trying to teach my last year. They're progressively getting worse well I get better. Here's to Kicking ass.
  15. Well you are my teacher! (Edited by Pat Harrison at 5:23 pm on Aug. 28, 2001)
