Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Locking block issue- CCF replaced my frame very quickly, they kept bad one so I lost my ICE magwell but Robar swapped my guts into new frame and it is ready to go with new guide rod and buffer. Issue may have been caused by 150+ PF loads, 6" barrel and to light of a recoil spring. They advised 18lb or better springs, use a 20lb one now. Frame ran for lots of rounds before this, had over 30,000 through it easy. Once it's tuned they run good, much heavier, soft recoil with these frames. Quick turn around time was great as Robar and CCF worked it out between them....
  2. Check Powder bar is it fully extended per Dillon docs when arm is fully down? If not they warn of this causing variations and as stated Viht is consistent.
  3. Which is the reason to blacken the brass and bullet. Yep, works great, keep in separate area for dry fire, brass and bb covered in black marker, and it gives the weight of a loaded mag for draws and reloads.
  4. That's crazy! Robar has it and is taking it to CCF gunsmith here in Phoenix today, I'm hoping for a hell of a lot faster turn around via Robar then your buddy got! Call them and tell them you're his attorney and want to know why it hasn't been fixed and sent back to him with an apology! That sucks... I can't even use my G34 upper as they wanted that to...
  5. Ok practicing last night and trigger pin sheared in half and locking block broke. Same Pin was worn very badly 3 months ago and replaced, they have no clue why this is happening, so now gun is in hospital waiting on locking block fun w\CCF, we shall see if they warranty it...
  6. CCF fun continued! I have a few posts in regards to mine, G34 upper, dawson ICE magwell, only gun I use in comp L and L10 2500+ rounds per month. In regards the 'why' is important IMHO, do you like glocks? If so why do you want the CCF? If you're a glock hater not really an option. I purchased it initially to gain the frame weight due to bad hands, it is much heavier than stock frame. Does it need tweaking? Of course, see the other posts in regards to FTE's, can you put a much better trigger on them? Oh yeah! Are magwells fun to put on and look good? yes. Frame is picky on OAL and Power Factor in 9mm, use max 1.120 OAL and run 145+ PF. Have gone through 3 NLCI extractors this year! bottom half cracks in half Had Robar look at it also and they couldn't find any issue Glocks are very reliable and my buddy shoots his 10mm Glock over 3000 rounds a month at +230 PF ! No issues... Mine shoots great until the extractor breaks always at Rio to... ? Solid heavy gun that runs good once you fix the FTE's, have used same shock buff for over 15000 rounds. It does cost $ though for internal parts, trigger work, magwell fun, etc. so it's not cheap but if you get one expect this expense and tweaking. Would I do this over again, doubt it but the frame can tame hot .40's much better than glock frame if I drop a 22\35 slide on it.
  7. Agree, unless you have to have Jacketed hardcast works great and you get to shoot more for $! mastercast.net $63\1000 precisionbullets.com $87\1000 depends on bb's I use mastercast bb's, excellent customer service and they have bb's to your door in 2-3 days! Precisionbullets gave me 10 week delay... Use a bit slower powder to negate smoke, works great and plenty of accuracy\consistency. IMHO Get a Dillon 550\650 and all accessories will cost $ initially but pays for itself in this game.
  8. This is IT for me in one sentence! Thanks to the OP for the topic and Flex for the answer! Patrick Yep, thanks accuracy has been off lately, not focusing and executing properly
  9. Excellent, AA powders meter nice +\- .1gr, works great on heavier bullets for me.
  10. What powder? This is the most common issue, Dillon powder measures do NOT like certain powder types, like Varget works great in .223 but not in Dillon powder measure. Will affect your fps, extreme spread etc. you will get variances on impact high or low due to this as range increases. Top loads are single digit extreme spread on fps between loads. Call Dillon and discuss what powder you are using and they can give you recommendations, I use AA2520 on mine just fine, Varget and others I have to use on separate powder measure...
  11. Used titegroup for over a year in 9mm with jacketed bullets, N320 to me is softer with same PF more expensive though! Use N320 4.0 gr w\ 125 gr RN cast bullets. titegroup to fast for cast bb's, more smoke.
  12. Shoot a glock 34, had light strikes with Winchester primers way to often when first started shooting comp. Use nothing but Federals since, as stated above change spring once a year and watch firing pin for wear mine eats through a couple a year. As far as high primers or upside down ones go I check every primer as I load mags.

    New To Me G34

Cool enjoy your G34, that's what I use with a CCF SS frame, great gun, practice as much as you can. The thinner front sight you spoke about will be easier as you go espescially w\dry fire time.
  14. Picture not very good, dimples fairly deep, and all over so your hand fills them, gun won't move, did a comparison with friend who had skate tape all over and you could twist gun in his hand, tried my frame and doesn't move, he had his dimpled...
  15. Group of us all have our buddy do our frames with round soldering iron, basically dimples all over frame used skate tape etc. prior and no comparison. Stages where they have you start with your hand in bucket of water (Rio ) works great. Another option IMHO
